This game is sooo confusing to me..i can't figure it out..the questing system is hard for me i guess. @themonkeymN You can play free (f2p), pay some money (premium), or subscribe monthly (VIP). Everyone can be elves, dwarves, hobbits, and humans, i.e. "The Free Peoples". VIPs also get monster play, i.e. creeps, i.e. orcs, giant spiders, and giant wolves.
@doubleLedits It's mostly based on PVE, but there is still a large amount of players (On the high populated servers anyways) that PVP. On some of the low populated and dieing servers however, there is usually about 10 creeps on and about 2 freeps.
@SavageRabbit89 The creeps do not have access to weapons and gear - everything is simply cosmetic though you get new skills (not necessarily better) and attributes. The freeps get all of the developer love so know coming in that you will not be on par with a freep for many levels.

@dillononeil I have a r7 warg, r6 BA, r4 reaver, r4 weaver and i can honestly say, you analysis of creep side is way off the mark. A no rank creep is just food for the freeps. Our skills come from ranking up and ranking up only comes from killing freeps and the points come in drips and drabs. Freeps come in full blown ready to slaughter, complete with gear and all skills for the task. Freeps DPS and crit % favor them.
lol creeps side is wayyyyy stacked. first off theres more of you. you start at 65 and you get skills more and more and more. once freep classes hit 60 we dont get anymore skills.. and you can upgrade dmg/hp etc
At end of day, Both are good games, Idk why everything Must be compared tho.
Just enjoy it for what it is, if you like this more than Wow, then for *You* (that's to all people out there) it's a better game. But If people find Lotr a better game, then it's for them. Honestly, if you took WoW, added better graphics and gave it a LotR theme, you would end up with LotRO

It has its own (VERY different) client and server engine from WoW, as well as other MMOs, and it's very unique touch to interacting with the game world. WoW is what it is, Lotro is another game, same genre, different content, community and focus.

I'd partially agree with you in the case of LotRO PvP, but trying to beat the opponent by getting the right situation for victory isn't the only place skill should be present. Honestly, I counted myself a good LotRO reaver, and my combat gamplay revolved around Bashing Q, and hitting E when their health went low.

You know your character, know your opponents, your friends, know the tactics, know the play, know tricks and tips, know when to advance and retreat, when to use potions, pop cooldowns, leg it. Knowledge is what you need in MMOs. And it's in no way mediocre, it's very hard to keep track of everything. Let your awarness sink a little bit and you might get zerged.

You can know all you like in planetside and it won't help much, you can know all you like in Darkfall and it will only help a little. Some MMO's rely more on speed and reaction times but this is a general formula for MMO's and if you're goign to argue the exception rather than the rule then you've already lost the argument.

I have a lifetime subscription, so I do play on occasion, although not for a long time. Monsters have no storyline, just a series of repeatable quests, some of which contribute to the overall battle for the ettenmoors (building defenses and calling for reinforcements). Monsterplayers can't leave the ettenmoors.
heh my lifetime subscription got banned and they were not willing to give me a second chance, for instance take blizzard they are very gentle when it comes to a player's account but turbine were very strict, i could ask no questions just respect the answer damnit

I have to say that I don't agree with your assessment of Warleaders, although back before Defilers they were the only healers, healing is not their primary role. They are more of a full group support class (buffs, secondary healing, bubbles, in combat rezzes, and some burst DPS).

PvP in wow does suck... ive been playing it for 4 years with almost no new pvp content exept new maps and its sad too see that Warhammer online is going down the tube for mythics bad decisions, its RvR and new innovative gameplay looked amazing but like i said bad decisions messed up the player base in what is supposed to be a massive community of players engaging in epic community conflicts but hey they might sell the franchise to someone with more money...

I hope that's a joke... PvP in wow sucks, it's all about zerging, twinking and luck, there's no unfair fights, it's just weak. The fights are quick, and it would be akin to a shooter if there was actual aiming in it, but there isn't. So it fails at being an RPG and a shooter.

It's not a sandbox type, it's levelbased, It's not a complete grindfest... so it's definitely square in the middle of the level based MMOs. AKA Wowclones. Graphics are meaningless to the gameplay, and if by Story-line wise you mean there's a path you have to follow, I agree with that at least. Running out of characters here

I'm a wow player, yet again, I play runescape, tet again, I also played guild wars, and yet again, i also played Warhammer, dark ages of camelot, perfect world, last chaos, shyia, rohan, you name it i played it...
Now, I'm playing Lotr And i just can't help but think it's EPIC.

It's obviously based of the Film and Nothing else.

@Tilyard123456 If you've played all those games, then you'd notice the trend of wowclones. This game is essentially a wowclone. It's the vanilla turbine engine (AC2) modified to be much closer to WoW.
Honestly, if you took WoW, added better graphics and gave it a LotR theme, you would end up with LotRO

@Tilyard123456 Ehh you know guys... I think you're confusing something. This is an MMO. WoW is an MMO. MMO = GENRE. Sure there are similarities, no, it wasn't copied. It has its own (VERY different) client and server engine from WoW, as well as other MMOs, and it's very unique touch to interacting with the game world. WoW is what it is, Lotro is another game, same genre, different content, community and focus.

@Ymgarl i know this was a month ago but i have to disagree, skill isnt like smashing the buttons as it is knowing what your doing when it comes to a mmo, knowing what spell/attack to do, to run away and heal, or just jump in and die, also games like this and WoW offer strategic gameplay in BG, raids and such, but i do see where your coming from

@sachxtrem The "Strategy" is merely doing as you're told by the raid leader, or as the case may be in WoW, the addons that will conduct your every move. I'd partially agree with you in the case of LotRO PvP, but trying to beat the opponent by getting the right situation for victory isn't the only place skill should be present. Honestly, I counted myself a good LotRO reaver, and my combat gamplay revolved around Bashing Q, and hitting E when their health went low.

@Ymgarl MMO skill, in general revolves around one simple point: Knowledge. You know your character, know your opponents, your friends, know the tactics, know the play, know tricks and tips, know when to advance and retreat, when to use potions, pop cooldowns, leg it. Knowledge is what you need in MMOs. And it's in no way mediocre, it's very hard to keep track of everything. Let your awarness sink a little bit and you might get zerged.

You can know all you like in planetside and it won't help much, you can know all you like in Darkfall and it will only help a little. Knowing isn't a skill, and it's a poor thing to hinge competition on.

I have a lifetime subscription, so I do play on occasion, although not for a long time. Monsters have no storyline, just a series of repeatable quests, some of which contribute to the overall battle for the ettenmoors (building defenses and calling for reinforcements). Monsterplayers can't leave the ettenmoors.

I have to say that I don't agree with your assessment of Warleaders, although back before Defilers they were the only healers, healing is not their primary role. They are more of a full group support class (buffs, secondary healing, bubbles, in combat rezzes, and some burst DPS).
Anyway I was just curious if youd be considering updating this video now that Siege of Mirkwood is out.

PvP in wow does suck... ive been playing it for 4 years with almost no new pvp content exept new maps and its sad too see that Warhammer online is going down the tube for mythics bad decisions, its RvR and new innovative gameplay looked amazing but like i said bad decisions messed up the player base in what is supposed to be a massive community of players engaging in epic community conflicts but hey they might sell the franchise to someone with more money...

I hope that's a joke... PvP in wow sucks, it's all about zerging, twinking and luck, there's no unfair fights, it's just weak. The fights are quick, and it would be akin to a shooter if there was actual aiming in it, but there isn't. So it fails at being an RPG and a shooter.
