  • I understand what you're saying, but you shouldn't call them slaves in that context. That's disrespectful. They're earning a living. Those who think that it's okay to listen to employees on mics, don't understand the liberties we are losing as Americans.Even if it's your establishment, it's just principle. What if it's your landlord, or your boss? I don't think we/you would like that.Once "they" start, it will never stop. Like gas. Once we paid for it, it'll never go back to the old prices.

  • Ur crazy but right!

  • This is absolutely pathetic. If I have a sandwich shop I would listen to my employees too. Juast as you would listen to a call center employees if you are running similar type of business. Rather you should be protesting about government listening to your phone conversations and what not. In relations to businesses I think you are missing the point buddy.

  • i am glad my boss at subway is too cheap to fix the sink, or the drain, or get a new toaster, or even put a microphone in the building..

  • /watch?v=z6nTXuI07bg

  • funny and sad by the way when i was working for some company i happen to had a conversation with a coworker and i said refering to my boss "he is a piece of sh@#@! Motherfu@# never gives anything" and I wasnt aware that he was next room and he listen everything then he came in and everyone was in shock .Did i get fired? nope the fucking ass couldnt find anyone better than me and actually i ask for rise

  • Starting to hate people that turn 'conspiracy' into entertainment, its spreading awareness in the wrong sense... psycologically this makes people slowly disbelieve them even more,

  • I am so tired of the term "Orwellian"!

  • JESUS MARK, WHAT A NUT, YOU'RE NOW LOOKING FOR CONSPIRACIES BEHIND SUBWAY COUNTERS....OH MY GOD...THAT COULD BE A FORM OF QUALITY CONTROL OR SECURITY, SPEAKING OF WHICH, MOST OF THOSE PLACES HAVE CAMERAS ON THEM 24/7 YOU NUT...

  • everything so cheap in the U.S. 3 cookies in U.K would cost at least £1.50 (equivalent about $2.50)

  • i agree with you but i dont think they're 'slaves' slaves are unpaid workers such as kids in india and china making our famous brands not low wage workers in the US

  • Mark, wake up! Might is right! If you can get away with whatever transgression you choose, you'll do it. If nobody is there to stop you, you can do it.

  • TransHumanism & Genetic Manipulation: /watch?v=UvyNMprSr3g

  • They have them in our White Castle restaurants here in Indianapolis, Indiana, Also our subways too.

  • You anti-GMO, pro organic people wreck me. Do you know how difficult it is to feed all 7 Billion people on this planet....every day? Let me tell you; if we raised crops organically, and with no genetic modifications.....half the planet would be starving......ask an agronomist. It's ok......just go back to your coffee shops wearing your hemp skull caps and dream your utopion dreams in the air conditioning.

  • @samlowrey63 "You anti-GMO, pro organic people wreck me. Do you know how difficult it is to feed all 7 Billion people on this planet....every day?"

You're right Sam. In this rotten system we've born it is impossible. But, do you know that food prices doubled just with the introduction of deceptive bio fuels? Here in Portugal i.e, the E.U. paid for farmers to stop producing, and paid the fisherman to salvage their ships and "regulated" the fishing limits... Be well!

  • @ngi01culp Yes......it's the Government's "Burn Food As Fuel" .......and the FED's "Print Money Like There's No Tomorrow" policies that are causing all the harm. Free markets and free minds is the answer! :-D

  • BTW, I am not suggesting that just because the employer has the right to monitor his employees in this way, he should do so. I would not like it either.......but if the owner doesn't listen to reason, and you feel strongly about it, you should look for a job that respects and trusts you.

  • Best place to eat: Family Table At Home

  • This type of monitoring is illegal in Sweden

  • @dvsdoug This is exactly what we don't need. Another intrusion by government into the workplace.

  • Callcenters work the same way, with the listening into conversations

  • my issue with monitoring at places of business is that if I am being recorded in any way I cannot reciprocate. if i break out MY camera or microphone suddenly "You cannot do that in here" starts being said.

  • No dice--I think you're off the mark here. I'm with the employer on this one. This is not Big Sister, the microphones are not in emploee homes, it's not hidden from the employees. I'm sure there are security cameras as well, so adding a microphone is no big deal to me. I know of a Subway that went out of business, and the reason I stopped eating there at the time was because of the rude employees. I have no problem with customer service monitoring. It keeps employees 'honest and friendly'.

  • The employee has no expectation of privacy in the workplace. Although I personally would not monitor MY employees in this way, it IS NOT MY business.

  • Ummmmmmm.....sorry Mark, you are wrong on this specific situation. This is not being done in the private home of the employee, it is being done in the businessman's own property. He has every right to monitor his employees in this way and the employees have every right to walk away.

  • @samlowrey63, Your wrong on the issue of the employees just being able to "Walk away"... Physically yes but financially no... That's where you retards forget to caluculate in that people work for a LIVING, This is not a thriving economic powerhouse when in a day or so i can get a better paying job.... This is a depression where extreme sacrifices are being made and people have no other choice but to take what they can get. Think next time before making these stupid assertions "Walk away" haha...

  • @AggressiveNarcissism Of course there are always things to weigh before "walking away" as I suggest. That is just the free market. I would always suggest having another job before leaving your current job. In the mean time maybe you should abide by the so called "tyrannts" customer service guidelines.

  • @samlowrey63 Do u work as a Manager for Subway?

  • @SovereignBeing No, but i eat at them.

  • @samlowrey63 bet your colon is very blocked by all that stodgy, fructosed, plastic bread and fake meat then..!

  • whenever they ask me if i want three cookies for 99 cents i say loudly "I ONLY WANT WHAT I ASKED FOR". and i don't go back to that establishment.

  • @vutEwa LOL! Good!

  • I think it's not really a big deal to be honest if the owner does this. I think it's good, they should be cross-selling those cookies. Now if the government does this it's different, but a business owner, shit so what. Besides if it's slow, just move away from the mic and/or cover it with a cup or something to block it.

  • f. subway

  • Oh, and then there's "beenverified(dot)com" where anyone who feels entitled to know all the dirt on whoever they have a whim to pry into and dispense the info as they see fit all sounds like a great way to get to know your neighbors!

  • i know of a situation where this listening happened and one of the bosses was a compulsive gambler who over-heard on of the employees had given someone a loan. that boss then tried to sweet talk the girl into a loan. these devices are used by the bosses who are NOT always wholesome themselves.

  • Also I have not one problem if the video/audio is in plain site. But to hide it that is a problem to me. Atleast this owner is making it visible and not hidding it. But like I said if it is hidden audio/video surveying going on then Houston we sure do have a problem.

  • I live in ontario and my boss put in 8 camaras not to watch the cunsumers but to watch us slaves do dishs to make sure were not slacking for our 9.60 an hour like what the fuck is going on!!!??

  • When you are at work remember it's called work so you do what the boss ask's of you and if you don't like it you can find another job it's that simple I have done it myself before. Now obviously if the boss is expecting something unreasonable then there are problems. I do however have a problem with the Gov't doing this sort of thing to private citizens as there is no reason for it but complete control. But come one calling them subway slaves is a little far fetched....

  • One thing first if it is a private business they have the right to video anything or everything. If I owned a business I would more than likely choose the same thing remember one thing when someone else is paying you that type of privacy goes out the door. When you are at home that is another thing. I know some have different views on this but let's be sane here. Also I almost bet you there is warning sticker on the door saying video or audio monitoring may be taking place.

  • I RECKON I WOULD BE LETTING A FEW FARTS RIP ..ON HIS MIKE!

  • I have worked at several fast food joints and they all have the cameras and microphones. They do not concern me, as I work hard whether being watched or not. I still have fun and speak my mind, even the odd flirt or three with cute girls. The job gets done and well at that. There shouldn't be an expectation of privacy, when you are working for someone else.

  • i dont go to subway havent been there in a year...there ads are annoying and pretentious

  • its so crazy...people are just so damned hung up on the bottom line...money! that's what that stupid invention was all about...in this restaurant any ways. Im so tired of it...should be illegal. i mean are you at work or at prison fro crying out loud?

  • Imagine that...business owners using technology to make sure employees do their job! How awful. Yeah, back in my day, the owners used to just hover over our shoulders to make sure we sold the 99 cent cookies. So whats more invasive? A microphone or someone right on your shoulder?

  • I agree with you on most videos but.. most cameras have mics, they are everywhere, what is the difference? He owns the Subway, pays the bills and is liable for all actions. They collect their pay and go home. I am not a Subway fan but come on, how many times have you seen workers talking on their cell phone in front of customers or just screwing off in general when they are left unsupervised. With the quality of much of the work force today (not all) I would put up a camera/mic. Take care Mark

  • hello and welcome to SUBWAY.....if you dont buy anything i will get punished ..tee hee. :D

  • I would hate to work for that Subway! I'll bet somebody is going to get fired because of an overheard complaint about his/her job. Imagine if everyone had to watch every word they said at their workplace. Imagine if there was a videocamera & microphone at every cubicle. I'd really hate my job more than ever!

  • My job is getting to this point. I work at a fast food place that has over a dozen cameras covering the inside and outside of the store. They do it to put fear into the employees that at anytime the store manager could be watching you from home as you work. That place has every employee and customer on camera from the time you pull into the parking lot until you drive out the exit. There are 3 cameras on the outside of the store and there isn't even anything to steal out there! Gestapo pigs...

  • Hey Mark?

Do you plan on doing a video about those security solution companies like ADT who to install "secure" open circuit suveillance equipment throughout their own homes?

Unless you already have made one and I've missed it. Otherwise is it in your book?

  • Mark, go confront the manager and film it.

  • I love you Mark, but I have to disagree with you here... Being the owner of a small business, I have no problem with installing a microphone and or camera in my place of business. Sending a message that the boss can listen to you anytime will keep workers WORKING properly. It's not like the government installed that mic, that was a privately owned business.

  • @smasci If it is a wireless system that can be monitored by one, it can monitored by anyone who can hack into it and listen in. Mark didn't mention that not only are the employees being listened in on... so are the CUSTOMERS! Many businesses use monitoring devices to watch their employees, but most of these systems are internal and cannot be hacked into by public and/or other private sectors.

  • @smasci Do you have your employees consent to record their conversations? Title III of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C.A. §§ 2510-2520) If not you may be breaking the Law.

  • @rea1001 don't need to have consent. they are on private property. you don't like being filmed, quit.

  • @smasci Im not talking about video. Im talking about audio, and yes, you do have to have Consent. Read the Law I gave to you. And I work for myself, so I dont have to put up with assholes like yourself.

  • @smasci Private property is the key here. When in public, there is no consent needed. If there are more than two people involved in the conversation, all must consent to the taping. The more accurate term is "all-party consent." Just because People work for you does not mean that they dont have rights as employees, not matter what the Patriot Act says. And that is why I said "you may be breaking the Law", but from your attitude it seems you dont give a shit.

  • @rea1001 you are failing to read my original post... i said nothing of "recording" them. i said i have no problem with installing video / audio equipment in my facility to ensure my employees are working properly...

  • @smasci You are still "intercepting". Do you understand the definition of the Word "intercept"? "to see or overhear (a message, transmission, etc., meant for another): We intercepted the enemy's battle plan. "

  • @smasci You can check the Laws by State here to see if you are breaking the Law. rcfp(dot)org/taping/states(dot)html Dont be a degenerate Criminal. Check up on it to make sure. Your employees will respect you for it ;)

  • "5 dollar footlong depression special" ***classic

  • KMART/SEARS is 100% watching you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I work there they are Evil to the core, long term (decades worth) of data mining into individual transactions and sorts them by not only your credit card number but anything you ever have bought is partnered up with those credit Identifiers. The shop your way rewards cards are just a way to increase information gathering for sale to outside entities, any outside entities that have need for such personal information compiled neatly for their joy.

  • Good place to spill your HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SHIT!

  • Nobody's forced to work there. Now if it was the govt forcing the owner to install this, that would be something else entirely. You should re-read 1984 and remind yourself what Orwellan really means.

  • MMMMMMMMmmmmm. HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP @ SUBWAY.

GOOGLE: Mercury High Fructose Corn Syrup

It's in your Coca Cola and all sweets from a gas station.

  • MANY DICE.

  • Why go to GMO infested Subway? Go to the farmers market, get some organic veggies, organic meats, organic breads...MAKE A GOOD SANDWICH.

  • Your book is scary true bro...

  • @HiPointMan whats the difference between watching on video and audio? People already do audio with the video so I'm not sure why your trying to act like they don't lol

  • It's the sub standard way.

  • LOL 5 dollar footlong depression special. i'm usually a critic of your vids mark, but your looking good, like you lost some weight. looking healthy. keep up the fight : )

  • COVERT RECORDING IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG !!!! How is this even debatable?

  • @Omexoplex if your in someone elses building what expectation of privacy do you have? Its kinda like saying you expect privacy when your out on a public sidewalk. Anyone can record and I'm kinda glad because there are some cops that should be recorded.

  • sry bro but this video is going to make me unsub

  • How dare he monitor the quality of service his employees are administering!

  • @HiPointMan What constitutional rights as an employee are you talking about? People record video/audio in work places all the time. I'd want to know if some scumbag was tampering with the food. Remember those dumb asses that were stupid enough to record themselves doing nasty things to a pizza? If they did that to my food I would lose it.

  • The owner enjoys only having to pay min wage so he can sit at home while his slaves make him money.. If he was actually smart he could listen or view his employees through surveillance cameras that are almost in every place of biz.

  • REPOST!?!?!?!

  • @cj29pug I agree with you to an extent but even though its privately owned once you open it up to the public any kind of recording is fair game. So I can bring a camera in and record if I wanted to. So nothing wrong with audio or video recording of the owner to stop theft and slacking.

  • @HiPointMan no not exactly. if you read carefully you would understand that my thoughts on this one are different than other privacy issues. A subway franchise is a public workplace, therefore anyone can come in with a camera and record. Some places video tape their employees once enough food comes up missing. Imagine you had a business, do you think it would be cool if you never found out who was stealing?

  • as a premier banker at wells fargo we had our calls monitored and recorded. in the entire building was cameras - so this is not new - even in a sandwich stop we are now subject to being watched

  • Love ya, Mark Dice, but you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Notice the hypocrisy of how you used your own recording device to record footage of the recording device? Technology is going to be everywhere. We might as well expect that we are being recorded in any public place now days.

I'd be more worried if people were not allowed to put recording devices wherever possible and that the only ones allowed to record things were the people in power. Trust me, a Subway owner is a nobody.

  • Dice I like you, I own your books, but dont make a mountain out of a mole hill. This is a free market and these are NOT slaves, minimum wage is great compared to 90% of the what the worlds population earns per hour. If they dont like it they can get a job elsewhere. As long as they are aware of and told about the microphone.....its fair game

  • @shawnzi24 Minimum wage is just that.....it's the minimum amount they can get away with paying you!It could be $100 per hour, but if you're paying $20 for a loaf of bread you can see where the problem lies.Minimum wage is never a good thing regardless of where you live.

  • At work your privacy is not really expected. As a privacy advocate I'm not really too worried about this one. Whats the difference between him being there to listen and the mic?
