Its only the music industry that is dying, they cant seem to get it through their heads that they`re not needed anymore (and never were) so this is the dying paroxysm of an industry who`s last physical act is to grasp out.

The film industry on the other hand benefits immensely from having stuff uploaded & accessible as can be shown by the obscene profits & the curious way that full movies end up on the internet before theyre du out.

well how ridiculous is this when the artist page set up by YOUTUBE for T-rex sends you to this video only to see it's been blocked. Are youtube that dumb? And yes, it's stupid not to promote T-rex's music. This constant blocking of vids is getting completely out of hand.

Yep, crazy - and short-sighted of them to whip things off. Heard a song the other night and went out to buy the CD - helllloooooooooo - Youtube - BOUGHT the CD after it was HEARD here. DUH.

I also had the heavy handed treatment, and pulled all of my stuff off for exactly the same reasons. It makes me laugh to think that record companies are DESPERATE to get exposure for their acts, and then you get copyright wankers pulling stuff off You Tube, which means it doesn't get as much exposure, which MUST affect how many copies actually sell.

@divoff14 yeah me too. I made a Bryan Ferry vid as my first youtube upload about a month ago, but then took it down for the same reason. It's nuts. I'm going out to get some more Bob Dylan CDs, and I'm only doing it cuz I saw a couple vids on youtube that I liked. That is, before all of his vids got taken down by Sony. The ironic thing, though, is that Sony will now get my money. But what can I do? I love Bob Dylan more than I hate them.

Marc's Mini crashed just down the road from me... I was shocked and saddened when I heard about it. I have not passed the site lately, but last time was about 2 years or so ago and people were still placing flowers by the site!

Indecently, I nearly came to the same fatal end on that very spot!... a 'humped ' railway bridge with a sharp side turning to the left towards Hammersmith. You can't see what's coming in the opposite direction... cars often hogged the middle of the road and I sometimes had to swerve to avoid them. I understood from the news report that Marc's girlfriend who was driving was intoxicated (or similar, maybe you know better), but I was sober and still nearly came a cropper!
