I watched the movie and I want to say that I was captivated by the story. I feel that the movie was a true reflection on the Cherry family...I don't think that Mr. Cherry would have it any other way. To me it demonstrates the depth of his character to not sugar coat things. He is a risk taken and to me no matter what he wanted the true story to be told regardless of it reflected back on him. It is nice to see the other side of his life. To his son Tim excellent job you must be so proud.

@D0NKY - I would image there are some effect from his kidney failure and his current condition. (I am not a Dr. though). I give the guy a pass on personal appearance and give him a ton of credit for being involved in this project. A great piece of work that tells inspiring story - of not only Grapes, but the entire family. This video will tell the story forever - great job.
It's too bad that Cherry never won a Stanley Cup. He's one of those coaches who was truly respected by his players. He stuck up for his players, even to the team's management. It's well known that the Colorado Rockies players (before the move to New Jersey) honored Cherry after their final game. The sense was that this would be the last NHL team Cherry would coach, so give him a big send off.
Don Cherry totally deserved to be Canada's biggest idol. He only tells it as he sees it, and mostly for our national sport he sure does know the game. Hockey teams used to be so different, now it's incredibly cliche. Wish we could go back.
Great interveiw, nice to see the rarely seen, real side a hard nosed cultural icon. I remember watching HNIC when Rose passed away. Don came on weraing the rose on his lapel. Because of the persona he has as a tough guy, it broke my heart when he cried .And I was only a teenager in 97' but that stuck with me. I'm glad I grew up in a world with Don Cherry. He's one of my favorite Canadians.

He was just on The Hour, he doesn't need to be on Q. Already too much hockey related crap on The Hour. Please don't bring it on Q.
