  • translation for the Finnish part :)

I'm staying safe behind the stone walls of the church

watching the people wander down there

I spend all day alone watching from my lair

missing what life has to offer

They don't know me at all

I know each and everyone of them

  • jävlar förstod inte ett ord isländska haha

  • finnish sounds so sweet :-)

  • Comment removed

  • a fun fact!

The actor who sings in the icelandic version speaks in almost every disney cartoon!

  • omg.. I know that Danish is ugly (compared to Swedish and Norwegian), but here you can really hear it. Fui. (I'm Danish myself).

  • Wow I understood the Danish almost perfectly from knowing a Northern German dialect.

Jäw mie blös en enkjelt dach.

    En schmakj fer det Läwe.

    Ekj kunn hab.

Jäw mie blös en enkjelt dach.

Mank Malasch on Molasch wäa läft äare Läwe.

Üte woare je'schlütt on je'hoolt enn äwe.

  • All great!!

  • I teaching myself Norwegian and Finnish, so I am glad to hear them in here

  • Being Norweguan, i still like the Danish version the most. (:

  • All five of them are amazing!

  • wow finnish and norwegian are kinda alike aren't they? And both are James's (team rocket) voices from Pokemon:DD?? (well I know Finnish is but Norwegian too??) What a coincidence!:D I kinda liked all voices :)

  • I hate it that the swedish decided to use the word "solsken" (sunshine) instead of translating the original, it could be like "där ute" like in the original.

  • @gro07 Why? bc "out there" is sunshine "solsken" logic. :)

  • @MrBalooify

Sweden have a tradition to be more poetic with our translations :P

  • I think these are all equally good. ^^ They're all better than the original, at least.

  • At the Finnish one I was just... what!? how weird this sounds. Then I heard the rest and realized it wasn't the Finnish language but the song XP.

  • You did a really good job! I'm proud of all the versions ;)

    Norden är bäst! :D

  • Swedish and icelandic :)

  • danish and swedish :D

  • danish and swedish! <3

  • I love the Danish version. :3

  • 5 Favorite Quasis :Flemish, Danish, Norwegian, German, Dutch.

Just saying here. Know that this is only nordic. 'cause I've got two of them.

  • I'm a Finn myself, so the Finnish version brings lots of memories <3

I also have no idea how some people can say that some language is ugly! I mean... I love all those versions! Norwegian and Swedish especially. Icelandic and Danish are also good, of course! Nordic dubs are the best <3

  • SWEDISH AND DANISH 8D <3

  • Norwegian and swedish! <3 Also liked the Finnish one really much!

  • wedish and danish FTW!!

  • Norwegian... wow. 5/5 (I'm american BTW)

    ---

and look at the bottom right of the screen at 1:31, you can see Belle from beauty and the beast. she's in a blue dress and reading a book.

  • Swedish is definetly the best one here. Although I don't dislike any of them. :)

  • Danish singer was good

  • Being danish, I still like the Swedish version the most

  • LOL, the guy voicing Quasimodo in Norwegian also voices that Team Rocket-dude in Pokemon. xD (sorry, I always post too many comments at the same time -.-')

  • LOL, the guy voicing Quasimodo in FINNISH also voices that Team Rocket dude in pokemon! xD

  • LOL, coincidence! xD

  • The Swedish voice actor, Joakim Jennefors, is a very active dubber and actually sung the first Pokémon theme in Swedish. He also voices Squidward in SpongeBob and Bear in Bear in the big blue house.

  • And Angemon in Digimon and the main charather in Apornas Ö

  • They're all fantastic, all of the songs in this movie are so amazing. But in my opinion, the Danish and Swedish ones were the best.

  • I liked all of them!!!!!!!!!!

Quasimodo's voice is beautiful in all languages ^__^

    Jeg likte alle sammen!!!!!!!!!!

Quasimodo's stemme er nydelig i alle slags språk ^__^

  • so says the Finn.

Hilsen norge =)

  • I love the danish Kim Sandbergs voice! Its amazing!

  • 1:53

ARRGH xD I get dizzy :S xD

  • I'm danish, but still I think the danish version is the best. I just love his voice it fits perfect, and I think it is gorgeous.

  • Im danish, and i love the danish much.

my vote is for danish xI

    2 point - Icelandic.

    4 point - norway.

    6 point - finland.

    8 point - swedish.

    10 point - Danish.

It was what i mean! xD

  • Nej, nej, den svenska (the swedish one)är bäst! Hans röst är underbar :D

  • Danish is best by a mile!

  • Well I must say all the nordic languages flow quite well with the song, but my vote is for Danish. Partly from the flow, and the voice of the singer. I don't know how anyone can hate a language, I'm fascinated by them. I can understand "hating a language", if you're forced to take it in school, and having trouble learning it. However this isn't the context of the complainers. Lighten up complainers, and just listen to the music, and appreciate the beauty of different languages

  • @Jukka70 Well what if half of your relatives happen to live in Denmark, and when they visit you or you visit them, you get to hear Danish even tho you don't understand a word? They just don't always remember it.

I think I like Swedish better, even tho I'm forced to study it, not Danish. It sounds more sensible to me. As my uncle (who lives in Denmark) says: "Danish is like speaking with a potato in your mouth."

I'm not hating it, but not particularly liking either. Imo not a beautiful language.

  • @Beehf Well I certainly understand that it can be tough. My stepgrandmother (stepmothers mother's) family came mainly from Quebec, and when they visited my stepgrandmother had to translate, as I didn't know a word of French. I guess I was mainly making the comments because my country has a lot of people in it who don't appreciate other countries, and it was those people that I was basically annoyed at. I just love languages and good singers

  • At 1:30, if you look carefully at the bottom right hand side, you'll see Belle walk by!

  • haha I can see here:)

  • Ha! That's true! Belle is sightseeing in the Hunchback of Notre Dame! xD

  • ibitus42..

  • kaikki on hyviä :)

  • hey you, finnish person. i have seen that you like to complain on sweden. stop right now. you just embarress yourself! i'm not from sweden but i love the language, and i can tell that many people i know hates finnish. including me, it's a terrible language. ykksi kakksi kokksi? wtf xD? i don't usually talk like this about other languages but now i'm just telling the truth, so stop complain on the swedish language, everyone knows that's because you are neighbors and you wan't attention, haha

  • you know that swedish people complain much on finland to?

and isn't it wrong telling finnish people to stop complaining when you are doing it yourself? you're not a very good role model...

  • i know it is mounth since you posted the comment but i just whanted you to know this:

that this gave me a good laugh (ykksi kakksi kokksi? wtf xD?).

and that i feel exsactly the same way on everything you said. it isn't anyones place to go out, and tell people how much there language sucks, and how much they hate it. the love for ones mother-tounge is one of the most dearest a culture/country/person can have. and it is up to everyone respect/ apreciate that.

  • @sspiderppig It's "yksi, kaksi, kolme" (one, two, three). And please write properly, will you? With Capitals and change that i to I. Thank you. Greetings from Finland.

  • @nukkelapsi That person claimed to not be swedish, but I still feel like I want to apologize on behalf of the rude person who insulted your language. I think finnish is facinating. Greetings from Sweden.

  • good for you

  • The danish is very good but he sounds like he's 23 years old.

  • Blizzardfrost: Sounds like he's 23 years old?? Well, he's 20 isn't he, so that's not too bad right?? :p

  • Kim Sandberg who sings the Danish version is in his late 30's :D

    He's an amazing singer.

  • I think all versions are good. The Danish one may have the most beautiful singing voice, but it doesn't fit Quasimodos character. It is too bright for him, I believe.

  • the danish one!!! <3

  • Svenska är bäst <3

Men norska och danska kommer på 2 plats

  • Svenska verisonerna är dom bästa. I princip alltid faktiskt. Vi har starka sångare <3

  • i love the danish one

    :)

  • they are all good in there own way. but the danish is the most beautiful i think. and tre swedish is the most powerfull.

the swedish and the danish are the best of all of them.

  • Jeg kan bedst lide den svenske version.

Den islandske er den værste. Han lyder for gammmel..

  • 1.Icelandic

    2.Swedish

    3.Danish

    4.Norwegian

    5.Finnish

    (I'm a dane myself) ;o)

  • I love the Frollo's voice in all the idioms

    heheheeheh He's amazing

    Quasi sings beautiful too

    ahhhhhh I love this movie♥

  • I think the Finnish voice sounds too young and not too fitting, but the guy's got a nice voice. The Norwegian singer is awesome and also reminds me a lot of the Swedish one. The Danish singer has a great voice too, it's trong. The Swedish singer has a really strong voice as well, I really love his voice. I think it's very powerful. The Icelandic is really good too, but not as strong as the Norwegian/Danish/Swedish voices. I think:

    1. Swedish & Norwegian

    2. Danish

    3. Icelandic & Finnish

  • Omg... I just love them all. The Finnish one really surprised me D: So pretty <33

  • svenska e så stark !!!

    den e bäst :D !!

  • 1. Danish

    2. Finnish

    3. Swedish

  • 1. Danish

    2. Swedish

    3. Norwegian

PS: Love all the nordic<3

  • svenska <3

  • I love the finnish, norwegian and icelandic versions the best:)

Der i solens skinn looks like it could mean 'there I will be' and 'there in sunshine' if you're dutch (Daar zal ik zijn & daar in zonneschijn) and they both fit the song:P

  • My opinion is that the Icelandic is best -ÁFRAM FELIIIX!- ...and the Norwegian one

  • Swedish is best I think, but I think Icelandic sounds nice to.

  • I think they all sounded very good in their own way. The finnish sounded a bit too young for him, though.

  • Yea, now when you said it I think you are right. The Finnish voice is maybe a bit too young... But I love it anyway, 'cause I grew up with it. :D

  • Finnish and Norwegian are in lack of masculinity, I think.

    Danish and Sweedish are good

  • Can't you upload the whole Swedish version? :)

    <3 all voices are great.

  • Norwegian and finish :D <3

  • I like all this versions. Can't choose any as my favorite. All languages are beautiful in there own way. ^^

  • Norwegian and Finnish <3

  • I like the swedish most :)

  • I like Norwegian and Sweedish!

    *-*MaritaGirl*-*

  • I like all of 'em very much!! I love the Danish and Swedish! But my absolute favourite is The Icelandic one! ;o) (I'm a Dane myself)

  • jeeeiii there are ALOT of people that say that the Icelandic one is theyre favorite one !!! im from iceland BTW bæbæ!

  • And I'm one of those many people who thinks that the Icelandic one ROCKS!! ;o)

    What doest BTW mean??

  • it's a short of by the way

  • Danish is the best<3

  • I like the Danish and Swedish version ^__^

I think they are good to Quasimodo... But, in the danish movie, i think it's someone else that taking the dialouge, though. But I couldn't hear that. ^___^

  • who will put a put a video with this song in greek???i looked everywhere but nothing...........

  • I think the norwegian voice sounds too pretty. It doesn't fit Esmeralda's character, even if she sings better.

  • I have always found Esmeralda pretty.. girlishly if you will.. So for me, yes.

I can understand your point though.. maybe little girlish

  • The swedish voice is really beautifull!!! OO Im norwegian btw. ^^' I like the Norwegian version too:)

  • oh my...O_o Finnish and Norwegian are not very alike...

um well :p I like the swedish version but the others are good to :)

    (swedish)

  • I love the swedish voice

  • norway and denmark = <3

  • The Danish is the best and it's not because I'm Danish, it is really the best. The Icelandic voice sounds like he's an old man, and the Swedish voice sounds like he has a cold. I like the Norwegian and Finnish too though :)

  • I don´t like the swedish voice of Quasimodo =/ (I´m swedish my self)

  • the swedish and icelandic, and Finnish and norwegian versions sound simular to eachother

  • you think Finish and Norwegian is alike ? The voices or the language ?? hehe :p I dont think norwegian and finish is alike in the language ! :p

  • The voices. I'm norwegian, so I don't think the languages sound alike....

  • The voices.. I'm Norwegian

  • ok, jeg er også norsk :p

  • what i think: 1.Finnish 2.Norwegian(my language) 3.Icelandic 4. Swedish 5.Dannish.

And i HATE the English voice, its just dont fit inn

  • @hermanhedning93 i totally agree with you! It's like he's cold!(shivering)

  • Where did you get that finnish version?!>O<

  • Ehkäpä dvd:ltä? :D joka on omassa hyllyssä myöskin.

  • seriously, if you don't like the songs in a certain language, then DON'T BOTHER COMMENTING ABOUT IT.

    you're just offending people -.-

  • Aren't you Danish yourself??? :p

  • No, it doesn't! That's very rude!

I'm danish, my language is neither "dirty" nor "Ugly"! Every language is beautiful, in their own way. To someone finniah sounds like gibberish, but it's beautiful even though! Shame on you >:(

  • sorry i mean't of the nordic in this multi^^

    sounded a bit harsh

  • Do you know who sings that? I like all the singers, and want to know more about them.

  • I looked it up and all I found was this: Danish - Kim Sandberg, Swedish - Joakim Jennefors. Hope it helps :)

  • Of course! Thanks a lot!

  • Damn! I meaned about HIM! Not me...xD Sorry!

  • Finnish singer is Veli-Matti Ranta. If you want more information about me, you can ask me!^^ I'm his huge fan!;D

  • The Swedish version has the best version and the Norwegian has the best translation of the english song of this. Dane83t that you said was just bullshit,Why do you hate Sweden anyway?

  • The norwegian is awesome!

  • It's all amazing, but the Dane83t's comment makes me laugh badly... Hahaha, I think it's just the language. I love Swedish as all the Scandinavian languages but that's right that they sound like mumbling sometimes. Hahah...

  • :DD that's true

  • your insane.

  • The swedish vocie is the best, he's so soft and sweet the whole movie. Like he should be

  • can you put the whole song in finnis here please?^^

  • Sorry, I only do multis. ^^

  • Men klagaaa :P

  • Danish is great. x3 And Swedish, too.

    Finnish was soft and cute.

  • haha, the danishpart if anything sounds as if he´s got gis mouth full of food!

i love this song, and I must say i like the swedish voice best...but the danish is great to^^

  • oh damn. the finnish singer is so good in this one, he was such a sweet and soft voice, and now the worst part of the song was left for him.... :( but i liked it still! :) norwegian was the best, as usual. great singers!

  • The Danish part is the best! :D I don't like the Swedish, it sounds like he's singing with food in his mouth ..

  • I wonder i could get the finnsi hand dansk version

  • Damn those typos...

  • Great job :) Everything fits.

I'd love to see that sequence or another HOND-song in multilanguage (ok, "God help the outcasts" has such a video, but I don't like the song very much).

  • You mean with lots of different languages, or just the Nordic ones?

  • I mean in lots of different languages. That would be cool. But I am unable to do this :(

  • Great job! Everything fits just perfectly.

  • i love suomi in this one :D

  • They all sound almost the same. Little differences between them but very little. I like this song.
