  • great documentary, the game has come so far since its foundations in the mid 19th century, just makes you wonder what the future of football will be. It's probably beyond our imaginations, but that's what makes it so interesting/exciting.

  • @deanmullen10 i hope the game doesn't change too much.. i'm totally against goal-line technology!

  • It started thanks to trade and the British empire being the biggest trader ,so they took it around the world the fastest.

  • @supermorshu yeah.. back in those days The British quite literally "ruled the waves".. the strongest navy on the planet (supporting/protecting an epic trade network).. a lot of people got unimaginably rich, littering the country with Stately Homes and the like..

  • There was a great book written in the 70s by an Englishman entitled "Football!" covering the history of the entire game in every culture and every code that now exists, (Soccer, Rugby, Gaelic, North American, Australian,) that is out of print, and I wish I could find it again.

  • I believe that is Howard Clarke popping up to wipe the lens at 5.47. Hello Howard.

  • what is the music at 3:16?

  • @TravisR719 Pavarotti - Nessun Dorma
