In North Africa I was shown about 20 pictures from a the same book showing Berbers playing the same thing but didn't see Negroes in the streets.

@ProphetGuardian Well, no, that's not true either. Africa had plenty of wars between "nations" prior to slavery. They were of a smaller span, of course, since most West Africans weren't aware of East Africans or Central Africans.
Cush, Nubia, and Egypt almost constantly fought and traded, for instance. Mali, Songhai, Ghana, etc. were the result of countless bloody wars of conquest. Africa, like the rest of the world, was not peaceful, and DEFINITELY never unified.

@ProphetGuardian Unification implies shared culture, government, resources, etc. Africa never had any of that. African empires were mostly short-lived, and in relatively small areas. With well over a thousand different languages being actively spoken in Africa at any given era, that rules out shared culture. Tribal societies were occasionally unified by imperial societies, but often times enslaved or slaughtered.
Everyone hates their neighbors everywhere at every time in history.

Most Africans spoke multiple languages, actually that goes for most cultures that lived during that time period. I don't no anything about rapist, but Africa did have wars.

Nigeria alone has at least 10 different distinct cultures, and that's just one nation. African empires didn't usually last longer than 400 years or so, if even that. This goes for Cush, Egypt, and Nubia too. Dynastic shifts brought on different empires for those nations, some of which resulted in utter collapse, and eventual rebuilding.

Plus the Spanish and French managed to survive quite well without Native help in much harsher, isolated, and unforgiving places.
