Wow, no idea why this video is getting so many negative reviews. If I'm not mistaken, this is a live multitrack performance. I never knew so much depth could created live with just 4 people. Granted a lot of effects were used, but still this is very impressive.

@TheTubaMonkey Indeed. If they were Straight No Chaser or a larger a cappella group, they wouldn't need the multitrack effects. But it's still just as impressive.

Cover this song in a vocal arrangement without losing power and intensity is almost impossible, plenty of great composers tried to do it and all failed. The Gudrun tried to do their best and, despite of massive use of effects (echoes and reverbs), the result is nice.

Summarizing: wrong choise, but good performance.

i dont see the point why so much people are flaming here. they dont sing out of key or without rhythm. most of the time at least. i just think the constant melody the guitar plays in the original is missing a bit in this version. and the hall is WAY too much. except for that its not that bad...

This is great. Everyone who doesn't like this probably are the people who hate anything by Metallica that came after the 80s. This is a different interpretation of the song. This is what music is about, taking good songs, and reinterpreting them in different ways. This was great, anyone who says different doesn't know what real music is about.

I would say the difference is that a cappella groups can sing without mics, but gudrun relies on mics plus they are using an instrument which is their loop machine. I suppose that without it they wouldn't be able to perform their songs a cappella. again, don't get me wrong, they sound good and I think especially the male vocalists have an incredible voice, but in my point of view it's not a cappella

it's similar to what Naturally 7 does, though I have to say that they should be careful using the word "a cappella" because I think they might make some "real" a cappella groups angry. they are using lots of effects and a loop machine. it's a different style and i think it sounds good, but it is not a cappella

They`re using theyre own voices without instruments, that´s what a cappella means. All the " real" a cappella groups are using a whole range of effects! Using no effect means standing on a stage without a microphone. But then they have to sing opera.
