Not surprising, as Native Americans are really Asians that traveled over the Bering strait land bridge when it existed, then developed on their own for thousands of years.
@sovereignpatriotusa - That is theory, not fact....what about the other places that people have traveled by sea to new lands, Example; Austrialia...etc
Another theory is that people followed ice shelves in boats for thousands of miles, both along the atlantic and pacific areas. In the case of Asia to North America, the result is the same as the 'land bridge' scenario - that 'American Indians' developed from the initial seed of Asiatic DNA stock, then spread and multiplied into wide-spread and distinct cultures. As breeding preferences differed among cultures, even among villages within cultures, certain traits were selected.
Small island hopping is different from crossing a vast ocean. The Indo-Australian Archipelago was a different measure for the first cultures to inhibit them. Open sea crossings are very difficult on raft-type craft, as well as with hollowed log technology. You need a waterproof hull with sails to stand a real chance. Were the indigenous Australians as much of a sea-faring race as were the Norse Vikings and their brethren? Or for that matter, the proto-chinese?
@sovereignpatriotusa Actually, Native Americans are a much older and more original group of people than the orientals. Native americans and orientals are two totally different groups of peoples.

I admire Native American culture soooo much! I'm white and have no background in Native Culture but it has always intrigued me from childhood till now! If the whole world adopted the Native way of life the world would be a great place for all people!

Beautiful people, uncluttered by ego. A wonderful time long ago when natural simplicity and flow was a way of life. Thank you...
