why isn't this version on the neverending story soundtrack composed by klaus whatever his last name is? the ivory tower theme on my soundtrack seems all techno and totally not this theme! i love this theme better!!!
Everytime I reconnect with anything that has to do with The Never Ending Story I feel so happy. And I get more and more convinced that all those Final Fantasy games are based on this. Thank you for a beautiful childhood, Michael Ende.
THANK YOU,thank you and thank you for uploading!!!It gives me chills every time I hear it,such a beautiful music, and a movie which is deep my heart and forever will be there!!
@koppsr I thought this was Doldinger's version :/ I'm confused now, which version was composed by Doldinger and which version was composed by Moroder?
Nice montage. That moment towards the end of the movie is so beautiful I want to cry. There is still hope. There is still a core, still a place of beauty that stands strong, pure and true. The phrase "ivory tower" is so often said in ridicule. :(
I was searching for this so much, and it's not on the original OST. How on earth can that be possible?! Shame... But now I have your version, and I can watch it as much as I wish to cry over it. Hurray...!

@Knightmessenger Sorry for waiting so long to respond Heard it from a friend of mine then looked it up on Wiki but that's not too reliable. Says having trouble finding Director,Writer and Cast so may not go through
god... imagine the price for the elevator on that tower... i mean whats the point on build a small...errr house? on a huge ass spire :P build a goddam tower that is a tower not a branch :P... anyway the theme is amazing
Why's that? I've never really played any of the games (except Crystal Chronicles) so I'm not that familiar with them, other than occasionally viewing footage and music online.
The new blu-ray disc coming out next week will have a 5.1 surround track in Dolby true HD that should be easy to rip music from without the dialogue track. Also, there is already a dutch import DVD that is in 5.1 where the audio can be ripped from as well.
I completely agree. It takes me back to when I was very young, to a time when fantasy was something magical to be treasured. Almost as though there was a certain power in believing in fantasy. A very moving piece for me.
Fantastic job piecing the two scenes together to make the complete theme. Such a shame it's never been released as a track, the soundtrack seems incomplete.
Thank you SO much for posting this! I've been looking for this version of the Ivory Tower theme...I'm not a fan of the synthesized one. If I knew you in person--and it wouldn't come off as slightly creepy--I would give you a huge hug for this!
The Neverending Story is like my favorite fantasy movie ever! I even read the book which was a really good book but when it shows the Ivory Tower in the movie it looks so beautiful it sends shivers down my spine.
I still think the Moroder theme beats the Doldinger theme for when they arrive to the Tower cause the Happy Flight theme is good but used too much Fast and Slow this theme gives the Tower its Aura and awe that is why I like this better
i really wish this was released on the original soundtrack - that's the only disappointment I have with it. Happy Flight will always fill me up with joy, but the Ivory Tower theme done like this is so beautiful and its really missed on that album
@frizico does your heart every swell when your hear this on a loud sound system?....this song is so powerful it brings tears to the eyes...perhaps cause it takes us back to that time when we were kids and we first saw this movie and were completely enthralled and captivated. perhaps it reminds us of a time in our childhood when magic was still possible and this movie made it REAL for us,at least for a little while.

Thanks for posting this video. I've been looking for this theme song forever. Neverending Story was one of my all time favorite movies when I was a kid. Makes me feel young again
Only the part at about 10 seconds is the dvd menu partially mixed in. (To minimize the Rockbiter saying "Wow") The rest is from the part of the movie accompanying the audio.
