It was a very emotional day, as you can see in other vids of the home visit - first time DC had been home since Idol began, and the support shown by hometown was amazing to whole family. My Hero is my fav song from this H.S. appearance that day.

I live in Blue Springs Missouri and I live really close to his old high school. Blue Springs South High. Close enough to almost hear his singing and it's cool that his from the same town as me. Not a lot of people he like him as much as I do. They think he became famous way too easily and that's way they mostly don't like him.

Well those people that think that are pretty ignorant. He's been in bands since like 15 years old. He didn't try out for Idol until 24 years old, he was 25 when he won. To me that doesn't count as becoming famous "too easily". Besides, who said being the last person standing out of over a 100,000 that try out, is easy? He worked his butt off to get where he is and he's not taking it for granted. He is awesome!
