I just saw this movie last night. It was absolutely amazing. It was just incredible, heartfelt, depressing, insightful, and beautiful in every way possible. What a wonderful movie with great actors and actresses like Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes. Watch this movie, people! It will take your breath away.

it's pathetic how immature some of these comments are regarding the age gap in the relationship of The Reader. What's even worse, I bet they're twice my age. I read this book countless times on my schoolbus, never though it was disgusting, never had an immature view on it; it was raw, sad, and honest, a comfort.

Dig deeper into the underlayers of the story's plot before you go around, trying to sound 'funny' about how some 'old lady' is banging a kid.

I have read the book but not seen the film. It's no big deal, but I was wondering how Kate was nominated as a supporting actress for this? Obviously she is the lead female actress in this film? How do they decide if it is for 'best actress' rather than 'supporting actress'?

I checked my local library for this book and the librarian's words were "Because of the Oscar buzz, this book is unavailable." Apparently there was a waiting list to borrow it. So I bought it at BN also and I enjoyed it! I finished it in 3 days!
