  • This guy knows his product i like that not many directors do

  • who uses esata? what is esata anyways? (sarcasm)

  • before u move on to usb 3 don't you think you should sort out you other drives there the most unreliable waste of money shit drives on the market today Ur reputation is shit your drives have let me down badly and that includes you new 1tb 7200 12 i lost 800gbs of data on that new drive

  • eSATAp (eSATA/USB) is more economical & easier.

    1) 50% of the notebooks out there have eSATAp

    2) SATA is in all machine. Upgrading is just a ZERO driver USD 12 delock bracket. 99.9% compatibility as it makes use of onboard SATA.

3). NCIX, Crunchgear have proven that the more economical eSATAp is as fast if not faster than USB 3.0

    4) eSATA is found in many NAS. (Note: you need port multiplier feature)

    5) eSATAp is ALSO USB 2.0.

    6) eSATAp can hotswap!. Can function as IDE mode.

  • ''USB 3.0 is promising to make storage devices up to 10 times faster.''

    - Is this true, or is someone trolli'n?

  • @mathias921 USB 2.0 has 4 pins, 2 of which is just 5 volt positive and negative, and the other 2 carries data. USB 3.0 has 9 pins, 7 of which is data, so that is 3.5 times the speed right there. The remaining speed increase is by improvements in the protocol. I have a feeling that USB 3.0 connectors are going to be fragile because of the additional pins though.

  • @aminy23

Next time you feel like playing smart, make it short.

  • But Hold on do ppl still use network cards now days? So why would the speeds on express card slots be speeded up?

  • i like the idea, give it Time hard drives will be same size has memory cards

  • haha he bashed the hard drive

  • very informative thank you.

  • Excellent video. I think Robert excells doing these kinds of tech interviews. Takes me back to those huge geek out channel9 videos.

    USB3 looks great. I want!

  • Shut up cameraman!!!

  • Wonder what the CPU utilization was on the laptop running at 100MB/s? Has the CPU utilization improved from usb 2.0? Does 3.0 have NCQ?

  • Where the heck was Seagate at CES? I couldn't find them at all.
