  • Does anyone know where I can purchase some dry ice? I live in Ireland and I really want some, its reallly cool!!

  • dunno why but when I saw the close up of the bubble I said AWW :3 tehe im weird

  • The gas pushes the bubble up, same reason you can float in a wind tunnel...

  • the steam type stuff from the dry ice keeps the extremely light bubble from sinking

  • ok why should i have a pippette if i not have a bubbleblower

  • The dry ice creates a fog like gas which allows the balloon to stay up without popping it immediately

  • Step 3. Take out your casual piece of Dry Ice you have questionably obtained from thin air and put it in the water.

  • What kind of sorcery is this??

  • @bartblosse purchased from windhelm :L

  • haha, thats so ghetto! forgot to put spoon on materials list so mix it with ur finger! NICE! :P

  • The air in the bubbles is more dense than oxygen, but less dense than the dry ice vapors.

  • @AlloraLang are you retarded?

  • this is a redonkulous video! ive seen every one!

  • can u replay to my comment...plz?

  • Maybe You Should Learn To Spell Properly First. ? -.-

  • @WorldzMadeOfStatic Maybe you should learn about capitalization and punctuation first?

  • @WorldzMadeOfStatic Why did you capitalize every word? Why do you have a period and a question mark?

  • @WorldzMadeOfStatic Fail comment.

  • @mylegoman100 Yes I can.

  • where do you get dry ice from?

  • @mylegoman100 a store like king kullen or shop & stop but you have to of age to buy it.

  • @mylegoman100 Well, you have 2 be a certain age, for one thing, and you can get it anywhere, but I'm pretty sure that you need an adult 2 buy dry ice for you :P

  • Dry ice can be bought at most supermarkets. You have to be 18 though.

  • 0:50 would be waaaay more awesomer if banjo & kazooie were in the bubble

  • does anyone know where to buy dry ice?

  • @MiissReyes Any grocery store I think.

  • Where do you get dry ice?

  • cool

  • That is too cute :D

  • steve ,what is the reason ?

  • now THATS awesome

  • Dense CO2 gas . Lighter bubble. The bubble thus floats on the gas without bursting

  • Duh the dry ice is denser so it holds up the bubble

  • lol hers wht you need : " a piece of unobtainium, a toothpick and a highly powered mig wielder" enjoy

  • This is fantastic!

  • Awesome video!

  • pure CO2 is less dence thanthe air we breathe since it is mostle nitrogen

  • obviously the smoke is cold enough to make the bubble become cooler, making it just a bit heavier than the surrounding air, but not as heavy as the smoke itself

  • Can you make a video of filling soap bubbles with dry ice smoke stuff?

  • @Howtovideos99 already has.

  • that is so cool!!!!!!

  • bubbles like : hey hey im okay!!! (:

  • cool!!!!!

  • If you put the bubble on just regular water, the bubble sphere would want to bond with the water in the bowl causing the bubble to disappear

  • SOO COOOL 8DD

  • im new to this... but do we ever see his face?? ha

  • that was aweeeesooomeeeee!!!

  • Did it, and it works.

  • where do you buy dry ice

  • Can you put dry ice in a bottle and close the lid please

  • the carbon dioxide in the dry ice is denser then in the bubble

  • The dry ice's CO2 is more dense than the bubble's CO2 so the bubble lays on the surface of the gas

  • If don't have a pip. Ues a straw :D

  • @MegaPrincess1998 *Pipe, Use

  • wow didnt expect that to happen. amazing!

  • can you freeze a bubble?

  • @iAneesha no he didn't and u spelled u wrong. Learn is spelled right..

  • @itsmehstrawberry steve probly fixed it b4 u saw it ;)

  • @itsmehstrawberry Because they probably changed it after they told them...

  • @itsmehstrawberry he already alter it... since it was 1 week ago...

  • thanks

  • I can't stop watching these science experiment videos.

  • don't like the music

  • why cant you be my science teacher

  • So thats what happened in Spongebob.

  • The "fog" is actually a mixture of Co2 and water vapor. The oxygen is lighter than the Co2 and the bubble floats

  • at first, I thought the bubble was so heavy that the water spilled... just then, I realized it was air....

  • the fog it more dense than the bubble, therefore it floats =)

  • It's A Bubble Bath!

  • wonder what happens if you just use soap and dry ice

  • Can i buy Dry ice in denmark?

  • co2 is denser than the air in the bubble!!

  • Hi Steve big fan of your and u know how in America u can get dry ice in a local super market, but in Australia do we have any of those?

  • What happens if you add soap to the water in the bowl for the dry ice? Wouldn't it be better?

  • CO2 is denser and cold in the bowl and the bubble has some CO2 because you exhale that out but it is not as dense as the fog. It is just like a balloon in a swimming pool.

  • You know you can make this without sublimating the dry ice, and it looks much better?

  • the contents of the bubble are less dense than the CO2 coming from the dry ice sublimating.

  • where the heck do you get dry ice?

  • You should try blowing bubbles with evaporated dry ice (CO2) inside.

  • Obviously, there is a string attached to the bubble holding it up. OR, the bubble is just good like that .

  • ITS BECAUSE ITS HOLLOWEEN. :3

  • That is slightly amusing.

  • How do you get dry ice in Australia?

  • but don't we breath out CO2? So CO2 is in the bubble as well.

  • scence

  • Dry ice sublimates into CO2, which (by nature of that extra C) is heavier than the O2 in the bubble. The result? Heavier CO2 trapped in a bowl, while the bubble stays on top of it.

  • @elephamoose generally you are right, but your comment makes it look like the air in the bubble consists of pure O2.. but being air, and partially consisting of exhaled air (+ the air thats in the pipette) makes it have less than 20% of O2, the rest is mainly nitrogen

  • you have a less chance of having a pipette in the house=.=

  • @houndoom1234 you can use any bubble blower... since we are a science company, we've found pipettes work well!

  • The "smoke" from the dry ice is so cold and dense (since cold gasses are heavyer than air) and the bubble is filled with air the bubble floats on the heavier cold vapor/gas.

It's basicly the same thing that happens when you take helium in a baloon and it flies up because it's lighter than air, here it's the opposite.

  • Where can I get dry ice in the uk ???

  • As if by magic!

  • hey steve when are you going to be on ellen again plz tell me i will tune in

  • it's because the CO2 that is released is so much more dense than the air in the bubble

  • ur spelled learn wrong in the description box!!!!!

  • @iAneesha oops! Thanks!

  • @iAneesha YOU spelled you wrong.

  • @iAneesha YOU SPELLED U WRONG?! how do you even do that???????

  • @iAneesha you spelled 'you' wrong!!!!!

  • @iAneesha You spelled you wrong in your comment.

  • If you do the edges of the bowl in some soap does the buble still brake?

  • Vapor given off by the dry ice is pure, and singe the only thing that a soap bubble hates in the world is a speck of dust/dirt/dryness, it's floating on pure air and only popped when it hit the bowl's rim.

    ....Awesome.

  • A Possible Explanation: The dry ice reacts with the water to create heavy and dense water vapour, then when something light such as a bubble will float over the dense water vapour. Yes? Maybe.....

  • Love that the music stayed for the past few vids...new thing this vid is the black background....

The music just makes these vids, and draws me back for the new ones...

I doubt our local HYPER (bigger than super) MARKET even has dry ice here in Cape Town, South Africa

  • what the magic?

  • cute

  • Another fun experiment that only uses these ingredients is to put some dry ice into a bowl full of soapy water. Bit of cleanup required, but it sure is fun!

  • Dry Ice touches water and creates a gas and the bubble is being lifted by that gas am i correct?

  • did you know holding dry ice wont freeze your fingers off you could hold it in your hands for like 2-3 seconds fine, and just keep moving it around and you'll be fine, unless you eat it and a piece gets stuck or if you swallow it, but u could chew on it, if your stupid.

  • ITS MAGIC!

  • Can you get dry ice in the UK iv never seen any???

  • How gay

  • It floats because the density of the smoke (CO2) given off is far higher than the density of the air inside the bubble. It doesn't burst because there is no impediment when the bubble is flowing, i.e. it doesn't get ruptured by anything solid. It bursts when it hits the side of the bowl.

  • It floats because the dry ice fog is cold and the air in the bubble is warm. It doesn't pop because the dry ice fog isn't actually solid in any way.

  • I love these videos, because they're short but cool. And You can never go wrong with dry ice cause its always so cool!

  • Good object lesson in density

  • @Rezeric i know, i wasnt notifed someone commeted before me!

  • Where do you get dry ice?!

  • @roborovskihamsters you should be able to find it at your local grocery store. The keep it behind the customer service desk, and you have to be at least 18 to buy it. Check out our other dry ice videos. Have fun!

  • @Stevespanglerscience Oooh, but I don't think they do that in the UK! :(

  • @Stevespanglerscience i suppose another thing you should have said is be safe as well. because, correct me if i'm wrong, can't dry ice "burn" your hand if you touch it directly?

  • @Snakecharmer95 thats why they say wear gloves and have adult supervision and yes dry ice can very easily burn you because it stays about -109F

  • @Snakecharmer95 if u touch it for too long, u can touch it, just dont hold it.

  • @Stevespanglerscience yeah... grocery shops in America. Wish I could get this somewhere cheap in the Netherlands

  • @Stevespanglerscience

Is this just in America? I live in Australia.

  • @roborovskihamsters places like toney's

  • pure awesomeness =) and why orange at the end?

  • @langeleipe Halloween...

  • Sweet!

  • over 200 views in 20 minutes

  • @alexmclean15 lol thats nothing most big youtubers get 200k in 20 mins

  • Nice Halloween theme ;D

  • cool

  • CO2 is denser than air, so the air bubble float on the top.

  • genie: i command the powers or levitation

little kid: i'd say it happens because the fog is cold and the air in the bubble is warmer so it stays on top

    genie: smart ass

  • AAAAAWWWSOME ! i love aeting the dry ice XD

  • 118 views in 5 minutes... cool

  • last

  • i cant find dry ice in ireland:(

  • :)

  • The bowl is full of carbon dioxide which is more dense than air, the bubble is full of air and when it falls onto the cushion of carbon dioxide, it floats due to the air inside the bubble

  • lol not 1st

  • Mind Blown.

  • could you make something with electricity that is cool? :)

  • i cant find dry ice in ireland :(

  • so coooolll brooo

  • Comment removed

  • sooooo coooool brooo
