It's odd how I always thought that this fake Anime had better intro music than the show it was invented for. The squealing guitars and the chorus just make me think enjoyable nonsense. That was something I liked about Nadesico, it had it's war thesis but still left plenty of room for a surrealist laugh or two.

I recently showed Nadesico to a friend of mine but I had to hook up a VHS to play my old fansub tapes. :P

The makers of Martian Succesor Nadesico hired Go Nagai to create a parody of 1970s super robot shows. The result was obviously Gekiganger 3. So you see people, Gekiganger 3 is a parody of 1970s super robot show created by the man who created many of the shows Gekiganger 3 spoofs.

Yeah... they'd need like four or five robots! With three machines each that's 12-15 pilots... and there are only seven people shown to be capable of piloting anything in Gekiganger. (Ken, Joe, Akira, Tetsuya, Nanako, Junpei, and Tensai). They'd need to come up with a bunch of new characters...

Well this specific copy of the intro is from the Gekiganger 3 OVA rather than a clip from Nadesico. It's not a series but it's at least a full episode of Gekiganger 3 for you to watch.

Gekigangar is supposed to be a refrence to Mazinger Z and Getter Robo, two of the earliest examples of giant robot anime, with Mazinger Z being the first internally piloted giant robot and Getter Robo being the first giant robot made from seperate combining parts.
