TV news is weak, poor, limited, short; no wonder the general public (at least seems to) knows little of the rest of the world, or of our part of it, really, and why our politicians play to us on that basis. Satellite tv has channels with more news, BBC and so on, but our ABC, CBS, NBC, et al., are thin broth. Even the news-streams on Bloomberg and CNBC financial channels have more important and broader news.
