Gosh half of the scenes in this preview were not even in the movie! Still liked the movie though. Mickey Rourke was great. Even though the other guy had a very annoying character (suppose too) he was still a good actor in it.

just read the novel. haven't seen the movie. it is considered by some to be elmore's best. i lost interest around page160. RUMPUNCH by Elmore is much better. Get Shorty was pretty good but dragged at times. I really do like Elmore's writing style. But the literary critic Martin Amis was out of his f'ing mind when he said Elmore makes Raymond Chandler seem clumsy. I've read 5 Chandler novels and never felt like quitting half way through. I kind of lost respect for Amis after he said that.
Well worth seeing. Mickey Rourke is fascinating to watch. Diane Lane is beautiful and she's a fine actress (loved her since "Rumblefish" which also had Rourke in it). The earlier remark about Paris Hilton must come from a real knuckledragger.
