@mogie2006 Hi, what a great response. I'm so terrified of big spiders that I would rather wrestle with a hippo. How crazy is that? And I would love to visit these countries but the thought of the spiders......... deters me. Take care.
Poor English scared of their own shadows, the Funnel Web lives in and around Sydney a city with 5-6 million people! You ONLY get a bit if you piss them off, leave them alone, it’s easy, EVERY Aussie knows this. And a tourist will NEVER see one!!! Except for in a museum.
don’t forget about the deadly ants, crock’s, sharks, wasps, man-of-war jellyfish just to name a few, there are appropriately 30 or more I could think of, but they only eat English and Americans, hahahahaha. Enjoy lunch boy’s…
i dont know that these are phobias anymore than the normal fear of that inconvenient phenomena known as DEATH ....hey here ya go hold this plastic funnel web ooops oh its real sorry about that chief!!
@ globe255 - Oh you're such a comic............... now let me take you through this concept sloooooooooooowly so you can understand it............ sitting down???......... ready??? The idea here is that if you saw a spider that big in the bathroom you'd probably shit your pants so you may as well keep walking to the laundry room to change them. Got it??? If you have any more questions feel free to write me.
@upinsmoke656 I hope you don't end up in the newspaper with a story about a owner that dies and they don't discover the body for a week and when they find it the owner's pets have been feeding on that body for a while. :P
@upinsmoke656 Damnn! that thing is like the size of a house cat, i mean, the grasshoppers are just appetizers right? after they eat that then they start feeding on the cows? :P
I don't mind snakes, they don't look scary. Spiders just freak me out, I don't mind if they're around, but if I suddenly look down and realize there is one on my body I'd probably kill it out of fear.
Only tough people live in Australia, as it was a former prison colony Australian people are decedents of people who had it tough, its awesome to live in a country where you can die any moment if you cross the wrong animal.
@pivotrsr hahahahaha dude I live in Australia and I'm shit scared of spiders but really it's not like these things are running down the street to try kill you!!
i'm not afraid of snakes, but i know that what they do is more physchotic than anything a rapist or murderer could do. the world whould be better off if they went exstint
@h3aveNsHaZe and your a freak from the net, possible pedophile or gay rapist, yes i think that pretty much summons up you life perfectly you outcast, don't bother replying, because i'm not wasteing my time on reading the crap that spews out your worthless mouth
@xBujinkanShinobi seriously, i never heard anyone get so passionate about spiders and snakes to liken them to rapists and murderers.... i mean yes, they are dangerous, but only to survive. whereas the others do it deliberately. i would hate to think what would happen to you if you were making a fried egg and the yolk cracked..... talk about over reacting dude
I probably need to go to one of these. I don't plan of traveling to Australia, but I'm terrified of even house spiders (I don't like getting close to snakes, but if there is some distance between me and them, it's not like I can't move or anything).
When spiders happen to crawl or fall on me in the house (these are harmless spiders I'm talking about), I nearly have a heart attack, no exaggeration.
Well a harmless snake can turn in to be a creature to fear. A snake can suddenly bite you without any warning. So take a snake and look it into its eyes is really a stupid thing to do, even though some stupid man or woman tell you it aint.
You're right on that one. A friend of mine has a 20 pound python. It doesn't mind being held, it does what any snake would do when you hold it. I put my face close to his, and he stopped whipping his tongue and started to slowly reel its head back, slowly opening its mouth. My friend got the snake away from me fast, because he said it was about to strike.
Thats really a good thing you have learned from your experiences (thats always good wether they are good or bad)- and a great luck you had your good friend around.
@bowlofarthritus snake and spider both of them are abominations, and it whould'ny make a difference if they went exstint, i hope they fucking do, the sick and warped little creatures deserve it
@xBujinkanShinobi Spiders, snakes & scorpions have been around a lot longer than humans & will be here when we have gone. They are all part of Earth's ecosystem & serve as much purpose as we do...
This is the biggest load of bullshit - I've lived in Australia my entire life and never even seen a funnel web. People talk so much trash about Australia being the home of all the deadliest creatures and that's not remotely true.
Coming from someone who spells 'what' as 'wot', that really doesn't mean a whole lot. And to answer your question, people with half a brain give a shit because terrible spelling is killing the English language.
Um, i live in Australia too, and I would say that Australia is the home deadly creatures, most of our snakes and spider are quite deadly. You just don't see them, because they are in the wild.
I'm not saying that there aren't deadly creatures in our country - of course there are. What I'm saying is that there other creatures just as deadly in other countries around the world, that's all.
Maybe you should come out hunting with me, I'm sure that opinion would be changed quick smart. Truth be told we don't see these animals at home but in the wild they are common and very real, still, if you leave them alone they will leave you alone....its the ones you don't see that bite so watch your step and wear protective clothing.
Once again, I'll say that I'm not disputing the existence of deadly creatures in our country. Yes, we have them. Yes, they are generally seen in the wild. All I'm saying is that Australia isn't the cesspit of the universe when it comes to dangerous creatures - other places in the world have their share too.
you need an education in psychology, phobias exist, and they're funny. Why would someone seek attention by telling people theyre afraid of certain creatures? That's not 'cool'.
