I am 1 old univ prof. Is there a website with simple (well-organized) explanations r given 4 "We, The People" (i.e. not The Elite)? The concept of 51% majority is scientifically (mathematically) flawed. All measurements have a % error and, for sure, there is one in voting. This is known by professionals who used measurements (e.g. engineers, physicists, statisticians). Here r scary clips that explain the background on what I am trying 2 say (+more): 8u-2q-YAkxw , ElrXrE8AmIc , zeMZGGQ0ERk
@CazK88 How on earth could you objectively think that after Bush and Obama that the country would of been worse under Gore. LOL. Thats lying to yourself.
First and foremost, Bush had endless opportunities to make the country better after 9/11. He missed many signs that could've prevented all of the mess that stirred with the sub-prime mortgage mess and the auto industry. If Gore had been president, he wouldn't have destroyed a budget surplus as Bush did. You'd be lying to yourself if you say he wouldn't.
@CazK88 Wrong about him missing the signs about the mortgage mess. He was one of the fore runners on warning people about it. Blame Fanny and Freddy on that one. They even have utube videos about it.
You sir are wrong! At whose watch did this sub-prime mortgage collapse under? Who was president when the Congress had warned about an imminent danger in the housing market in 2005/2006? Who implemented TARP? Fannie and Freddie are just the victims amid the financial collapse, and it was not just them. Lehman, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, FHA and all of these organizations Bush deemed "Too Big to Fail". Bush wanted to be president so bad in 2000, and he got what he wanted plus more!
@CazK88 There are so many inaccuracies here. TARP was amended and rewritten by a Democrat controlled House & Senate in 2008, the same ones that held a double majority in 08-10 under Obama- and are still there in the Senate today- and even more spending was signed off on.
TARP may have been rewritten, but you are neglecting to say who was the source of the TARP establishment? The GOP. Who decided that Fannie, Freddie, AIG, Citigroup, and Lehman Bros. were "too big to fail"? The GOP. Don't solely blame this on the Dems. It was the GOP that got us in this mess the begin with.
@CazK88 Yes, GOP established TARP, but also the answer is YES that the Dem party swelled it to the point that it was no longer the same legislation and goals as it was when introduced, just like social security, medicare, welfare, etc. Yes, it can be solely blamed on Dems.
@joshuaschargers People like you continue to credit Reagan about economic conditions that were not prosperous under his administration. You cannot blame Carter for a continued deficit throughout Reagan's presidency. Reagan came in, increased military spending out the wazoo, cut taxes drastically, and left one hell of a deficit. He was convinced that if the rich became richer, the poor would follow along. It was called "voodoo economics" and it failed drastically.
@CazK88 Economic conditions DID prosper under Reagan, much more so than they did in the 4 years prior to Reagan under Carter. Most of the deficit is due to military spending, which was gutted under Carter to provide for social programs. Supply side economics is simple: give more money back to the people that create jobs and goods. It works every time it's tried. Bush 41 and Dem congress raised taxes, endured a recession, and Bush lost the Presidency. In 94, those tax hikes were not renewed-----
@joshuaschargers All of that you said only proved my earlier point. The policies set in place by the previous administrations benefit the successors. This happens all the time. We can debate on and on about who's policies were better, but our original argument was on TARP. I can agree that TARP has failed and did not do what it was supposed to do, but I give the blame to the GOP and I told you why. You cannot insinuate and say that the Dems would've done it anyway. No proof behind that.
@CazK88 not renewed--- a tax code closer to the Reaganomics model was used (passed by republican house & senate, signed by Clinton), and prosperity ensued. So much so that by the end of the decade there was a SURPLUS of revenues within the federal government. Reagan HAD to run up the deficit through military spending as our forces couldn't maintain equipment that was already outdated in most cases. So much so that we couldn't even get rescue helicopters into Iran before they began breaking down
@joshuaschargers TARP cannot be solely blamed on the Dems. Had the Bush administration pioneered something other than TARP, there would be no TARP for, as you say, the Dems to swell. Let's stick to the basics, TARP was a socialist way about controlling a large percentage of the economy because the GOP figured that those businesses were too big to fail. What is contradictory for the GOP is that since they yell about government control, they showed the world even they can do it.
@CazK88 That's insane! "Pioneered something other than TARP.." Dems would have rewritten it no matter what. They had the house and senate. All they had to do was wait 'til Obama came to office before sending it to the office of the President.
@joshuaschargers The fact is, what caused our more recent deficit was Bush II. A tax cut. A war - unfunded. Another tax cut. Another war - unfunded. A huge Medicare drug benefit - unfunded. Anti-regulators in charge of regulatory agencies. And an economic crash that could have become the next Great Depression. The Republicans sure seem intent on making that happen, but they have been unsuccessful, so far thankfully.
@CazK88 If Gore were POTUS he would have destroyed the economy as he believes in global warming and doensn't believe in tax cust. News flash for you: there should NOT be surplusses. I love you liberals, if the gas station makes a profit you cry "UNFAIR" but if the government takes more than it needs (budgets are supposed to balance and no more) you love it. Too many people do not realize how lucky we were that Gore didn't succeed in stealing the election in 2000.
@Srd1126 Well a message to you GOP nut-jobs...the 90s were known as the best times in the U.S. since the 19th century economically because of the Clinton Administration. After he left, Bush rammed the economy into a major deficit that we are still, to this day, are suffering from and will continue for years to come. Everytime a Republican is in there, a Democrat always has to clean up their mess. History tells us that. Learn it.
@CazK88 From 1994 on, Clinton had to work with a Republican controlled House & Senate. HillaryCare was shot down immediately, as were most other Dem spending bills. My History tells me that when there is a Dem in the White House, and a Dem controlled congress, we get 9% unemployment or higher, higher taxes, increased government spending, outrageous gas prices, and an economic recession. It happened 1976-1980 and it's happening now.
@CazK88 the economy only improved after Newt took congress and tited Clinton's hands. Economy was terrible unbder Carter and now Obama. We had a boom under Reagan and yes, Bush43. You need to learn some actual history, not get info from MSNBC. We are suffering now because an unprepared man-child got elected in 2008 and has the believes the economic ideas of Hugo Chavez. I have yet to see a Democrat clean any mess up, eventheir own. NEWT IN 2012!
@Srd1126 If you are that shallow minded to say Newt will win president as you sit here and talk about how such of a bad Speaker he was, I can already tell how shallow minded you are. If you know anything about history and progress (change), the policies and implementation a current president pioneers will not take effect until a new president comes in. That's all the time! So what Obama may do now, you may not see until after his second term (yes he will win 2012).
@CazK88 you are correct about one thing, most of us will not know the disaster of Obama's policies for years. Gays in the military; trillion dollar deficits; printing money like mad; weak foreign policy; suing a company for OPENING a plant in the USA; selling guns to Mexican drug cratels, the list goes on. Sure we can see the disaster, but how bad will it be?
@tca274 Since he feels that CO2 is a toxin in the air, he would have taxed the air you breathe, eventually. Did not you see "an inconvenient truth" yet? Also, Gore would not have taken out Saddam and changed Iraq for the better.
i hate the stereotype that bush stole the election and is dumb. most people my age just go along with that stereotype and they dont know shit. its disgusting. stereotypes are killing america.
GEORGE W BUSH IS THE WORST PRESIDENT IN PRESIDENT HISTORY. He cheated in the election in 2000. Did nothing to help and more than likely caused the damage of the levees in New Orleans in hurricane katrina(worst ever) and caused the deaths of soooo many innocent lives in 9/11. Like katt williams said, "how do u fuck up EVERYTHING?"
To be honest there was no reason for the elections in 2000 to have got so close in the first place. It was Al Gore's election and he fucked it up, like Democrats do from time to time.
The blatant installation of Bush/Cheney's PNAC admin was required to implement their blueprint, "Rebuilding America's Defenses."
The term 'defense' here is used in the Orwellian sense, meaning, OFFENSE/AGGRESSION disguised as retaliatory i.e. disinfo narrative sold to the public mind via M$M, which acts as PR for empire's aim$.
The Dems, who pose no substantive threat to the US being a right-wingers wet, bloody dream, of course played their part in perpetuating the new phony 'war' scam.
honestly, who goes to vote in the last hour anyway? what does it matter ?! If you haven't voted in the last hour you're either in line to vote or didn't plan pon voting anyway .... !!!
@Michthemitch that's not true. Democrats are so ignorant and want more taxes which means less investing and free use of money and that is what would really help the economy, not giving most of your money to the government. It's called Capitalism-an economy based on private ownership and investment of money.
@redsoxppr23 Haha keep talking =) I on the other hand don't hate conservatives. In fact most of my friends are conservatives. Unlike you I don't go around posting open-ended, ignorant comments trying to start a trolling war. You are an uneducated fool who is probibly still in high school. Let me guess, your parents are Republicans and so are many of your friends? You like to hang around people who agree with you. Pathetic. “There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.” - J W von G
@SirAvalord I go to a school where almost everyone is liberal, even my friends so you can't make that assumption. I have had two conservative teachers and I'm a senior in high school so I get to hear what they have to say. You also can't make the assumption that both my parents are republicans because they aren't. I don't hate all liberals, just the ones who bash on republicans on the Internet. Can you explain to me how you (a Democrat) would make the economy better?
@SirAvalord I just re-read you're comment, when you called me an "uneducated fool" that pissed me off. Just because you might be older than me, you think you're superior which is very wrong. I wasn't trying to start a fight, you were the one who replied to my comment. I was replying to a guy who was disrespectul and swore to another person, so I wanted to say something.
One of the greatest, if not the greatest Fraud in the history of American Politics. Putting political loyalty aside, no one should get away with this shit George Bush should be arrested and tried for this!
@aarongohn The video is not stupid. All major news media were reporting that the polls in Florida had closed, when in fact they had not. This impacted Florida voting, because many people thought it had been too late to cast their votes, when in fact they had not been too late. Of all the things to complain about regarding Florida 2000, this would have been the biggest.
@denniskucinich2012 you get election materials telling you when your polls close. it's up to you to know that. and it's not like this is the first time panhandle voters dealt with this situation. they deal with it in every election. they know they're in a different time zone. if you're going to give them the benefit of that much stupidity than you certainly have to account for the people confused into voting for buchanan by butterfly ballot (which was technically illegal)
It's not just that, it's the fact that the media called it for Gore at that point. When they called it for Gore, most voters thought the election in Florida was basically decided, so their votes were for naught either way.
@KabaneTheChristian maybe you didn't follow the entire discussion. the election was called for gore 12 MINUTES before the panhandle closed. have YOU ever been home watching TV 12 minutes before poll closing when you intended to vote?
Hmmmm.....I am not gay so I really don't take your lame name-calling as an insult but I thought Democrats (Espciallt Ofama) were the party of inclusion and political correctness....so why is is all right for PC Demo-Nazi such as yourself to use the term "fag" in any shape or form? Just proves that you are a Hypocrite.
BTW, Laura Bush killed a man ACCIDENTALLY. in an AUTO ACCIDENT....do you understand that, douchbag? I bet that you have done far worse things.
Hell no. I don't have any more money than you do. But I was thinking that you could give me your old dollars since you won't be needing them abroad....you know, its best to get rid of everything that reminds you of Bush-loving Americans!!! LOL
@spiffyjuize i'm assuming you mean low tax rates. i don't care about low tax rates. i think i'd like to go to canada or western europe. germany or france or the netherlands.
"Of course we tilt to the left," said now disgraced--he went down with Dan Rather, Mary Mapes, and the falsified National Guard memos--CBS News president Andrew Heyward. LOL
zgregor83: Stop making FALSE srtatements. The Florida panhandle vote WAS impacted by the media's FALSE reporting that Gore had won Florida. And the media DID this knowingly and deliberately. Typical right wing lackey: you can TRY to re-write history, but some people KNOW you are lying. ZGREGOR83: SPAMSTER!!
@Paolo7219 How was it i mpacted??? NBC did not call for Gore until 6:49:40 CST; CBS did not call for Gore until 6:50:11, CST and ABC did not call for Gore until 6:52 CST. Polls closed at 7:00 CST. No evidence that projecting Gore as the winner a mere 8-11 minutes before the polls closed discouraged anyone from voting in Florida
This video is irrelevant and deceptive! Geez, does everybody have to lie to try and get a slanted viewpoint across? The video states a 6-7 CST time frame - fill in the entire story please. NBC did not call for Gore until 6:49:40 CST; CBS did not call for Gore until 6:50:11, CST and ABC did not call for Gore until 6:52 CST. No evidence that projecting Gore as the winner a mere 8-11 minutes before the polls closed discouraged anyone from voting in Florida.
It still amazes me that it was sooo obvious beofre that son of a bitch Bush's first term was up, that he lied about WMD. That he was re-elected. Gore should have won by a landslide. Damn people are dumb. We are stil paying for his fuck up financially, emotionally, etc
The machines malfunctioned and the paper was inferior. Dan Rather did a report on HDNET that showed that directions were given just weeks before the election to change to inferior quality paper prior to the election, paper that resulted in difficulties punching the chads. The special had a dozen witnesses who testified to the change to inferior paper that was used to make the ballots for the 2000 election in Florida.
I don't see what the big deal is. the Bush presidency was soooo successful, those were great years for the United States.
Who would ever want to go back to those horrible times when Bill Clinton was president, it was sooo terrible, all those jobs, and a budget surplus. God people just get over reality.
Gore should have had the whole state recounted. He only had the democratic counties recounted. If the whole state was recounted, he would have over taken Bush.
Gore did not have time to recount the whole state because Florida did not have a method to request a Statewide recount. Rather, each of the 67 counties had to be requested INDIVIDUALLY, and each had to agree to perform a recount AFTER conducting a 1% sample. There was NO WAY to count all the state before Harris planned to certify the election for Bush one week after the election.
Gore tried but was thankfully prevented from stealing the presidency....thank God idiots like you didn't get their wish to destroy democracy in America.
@gootenslog Actually, Gore got more votes. Bush was the one who stole democracy away from us... and he and his band of criminals continued to violate our Constitutional rights... got us involved in an illegal war and drove this nation into the ground. Eight years of Bush and his incompetent administration is one of the saddest periods in American history... and we're still suffering from their crimes.
You obviously don't understand American democracy or the Electoral College....Bush won where it was important to win in electoral votes....just because you didn't like the results, don't call it fraud. However, if you want to bitch, think about the destruction to our democracy that is going on in the current administration.....but you won't because you're all right with that, aren't you. Hypocrite.
If you are too stupid to figure out a voting ballot you should not be voting. The ballots were not that hard to figure out. If you can't read, write, or understand english you aren't helping anyone by voting.
The New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN did a recount and it showed that Bush won Florida.
For all the people still complaining about this, get over it.
Wrong on every count. Ballot in Palm Beach was deceptive for many intelligent people, not only due to layout, but due to angle of ballot when placed on machine and problems with alignment - for Bush as well just more for Gore; Post and Times results were slanted; a more accurate recount by the National Opinion Research Center showed Gore winning by every standard, even conservative counting methods
There are some leasons from this election. If you can't read, write, or speak english you should not be voting. One law I wish they would pass is all voting ballots have to be in english. Learn the language or leave the country.
It is something when you see the long lines for voting and some people complain about them. I wonder if they have ever heard getting an abscete ballot.
It wasn't the language barrier (instructions were in Spanish regardless). It was a poor ballot design (admittedly a Democratic fault); faulty machines; poor quality paper; machines in wealthy counties that spit out returns that had over votes in wealthy counties but did not do the same in poor counties;
massive voter fraud by the Governor of Florida and the Secretary of State to misclassify minorities as felons when they were not.. Learned that lesson and made corrections to see that can not reoccur?
Now let's see...the networks knowingly lied when they said the polls in FL were closed AND they repeatedly said Gore had WON Florida. THEN: when the polls really did close, the networks all said, "OOOPS! We made a mistake. FL voted for Bush, not Gore. The timing of all this is WAY too perfect. Declare Gore the winner so the Gore voters in the FL panhandle don't feel the need to vote and then when it's too late, acknowledge your mistake. Could ALL the networks make the very same mistake?? No.
Why did the Supreme Court get involved it should have been the Senate. If there's a tie they break it. In a situation like this the Senate needs t obe involved.

Let's see, we had Afghanistan and Iraq? Iraq we started, true, and CONGRESS approved it by a huge margin, including many notable Democrats -- but, of course, Bush lied to them, right?
But, Afghanistan? Are you fucking serious? Al Queda attacked New York and Washington D.C. and ran for cover in Afghanistan! Afghanistan sought to protect them! So, what the fuck should Bush have done? Wait for a UN resolution? No that was an act of war!
No, the point is that the call wasn't made until 10 minutes or less prior to the closing of the polls. People in the panhandle would know when the polls close in their area.
what matter in this video? Nothing. How many people watch election results within less than an hour of the polls closing and then go vote at the last minute??? think about it. Most people don't start watching election results and then go vote after they've been watching for awhile, not with so little time left for them to vote, anyways !!!
Further, NBC did not call for Gore until 6:49:40 CST; CBS did not call for Gore until 6:50:11, CST and ABC did not call for Gore until 6:52 CST. No evidence that projecting Gore as the winner a mere 8-11 minutes before the polls closed discouraged anyone from voting in Florida.
But, Al Gore spent most of the election running away from Clinton and their record from the last 8 years. Had Gore allowed Clinton to campaign for him or not hidden from his own record. The election would not have been this close.
I agree. It would have helped him in Arkansas, West Virginia, and Tennessee-3 states Democrats should never lose. Cultural and moral ethical reasons still were hard to overcome especially in the South. Gunowners and evangelicals put Bush in the White House.
This video contends that Gore may have lost because the media fallaciously reported that polls in that part of the state were closed when in fact they were open, possibly keeping enough people who would have voted for Gore away from the voting booth.
In reality, this area is very conservative which means that, if anyone didn't vote, it was probably more likely a Bush voter than a Gore voter.
Irrelevant.
And even if he did not win the election it was a toss up IMO. Any one of them could have won by just showing a few more commercials or radio ads. Our election system is just not made for elections that are that close. Oh and yeah it's also over.
You don't get over it when the lesson has not been learned as evidenced by your comment. Electiono system needs to be improved not just a shoulder shrug suggested by you.
Stupid morons who posted this video simply don't the electoral process in the Unied States. When disputes over recounts cloud the accuracy of results, as they did in Florida, the election MUST be turned over to the hands of the judicial system. That's what happened. The constitutional was faithfully executed. It's not the first time in our history that it's happened. Learn about the election of 1876 ( Tilden v. Hayes.) Then SHUT UP about the 2000 election forever!
Complete bullshit! Bush won EVERY recount that was done! You can't keep recounting, you'll gett a LESS accurate vote. You people forget that Oregon was even closer than Florida! Why not recount that state as well if we don't want to be hipocrites!
First of all, Oregon was decided by about 7,000 votes, Florida was decided by 537 votes. Yes Bush won every recount in Florida, but why? Because there were thousands of votes that were not counted. Norms Coleman still hasn't conceded the Minnesota Senate race to Al Franken has he? He keeps asking for recounts. I bet you have no problem with that.
I concede I had my facts wrong re Oregon. I have no problem w/ Al Franken being senator, Coleman should stop asking for re-counts- please don't conclude that I'm a partisan hypocrite. There comes a point after an election where counting has to stop and the courts must decide a winner. You'll NEVER get an accurate count when your within a certain margin of error.
WRONG. When elections are so close as to being within a certain margin of error, there is no way of accurately counting them. As James Baker argued recounts can be LESS accurate rather than more accurate. Our constitution is so brilliantly devised that the balance of power is maintained even if an election is in fact botched. It has happened numerous time throughout our history. Four Presidents have been elected with a minority of the popular vote. Separation of powers and term limits prevail.
First, presidents are elected by the Electoral College vote, not popular vote. That is not the issue here. Gore won the popular vote easily, but the Democrats did not make an issue of this. That is the law. What is wrong is not recounting votes when required by Florida State Law if within margin of error (and this was way within the margin of error).
No shit about the electoral college! I'm trying to make a point that it is not a big deal if the runner up wins the election when it's 50.1 vs. 49.9. The constitutional process prevails. Both candidates in the 2000 election were morons anyway. What is clear from your compulsive arguments is that you think Bush was the devil, and you can't get over the fact that he took the election. Gore would have been an equally disastrous president. We should have had McCain vs. Brdaley in 2000.
Of course it's a big deal. The election came down to one state's electoral votes, regardless of the popular vote. So get the popular vote out of your obsessive mind. I'm not discussing the merits of whether or not Bush was a good president. That is irrelevant.
Secondly, 18 counties did not recount the ballots (run the ballots through the machines again) as required by Secretary of State and Davison of Election procedures; that is 1.58 million votes that were not recounted.
Thirdly, the Secretary of State sent her lackeys down to Palm Beach and persuaded them to change to a more conservative method of recounting, costing Gore hundreds if not thousands of votes; Bush operative rioting in Miami-Dade and forcing the stopping of the recount of votes. This all ran out the clock on Gore in the end with the US Supreme Court
You argument is ludicrous. So you want NO recounts?? Why do you think every state has a provision for recounts? There are always errors in valid ballots that were not counted, so you need to recount in close elections to make sure every vote is counted according to the intent of the voter as required IN THE LAW.
You don't understand. Votes were not even counted once. For example, 18 counties did not even run the ballots through the machines a second time as required by Secretary of State and Division of Election procedures, thus failing to recount 1.58 million ballots. Plus, many ballots remained not counted due to the stay and decision of the US Supreme Court.
What could he have done about it is the appropriate question instead of making conservative partisan views that makes people want to hate you even more. I bet you are too lazy to even look into this even further because of your beliefs that conservatives are right and liberals are wrong and crack up liars. To be sure of yourself, go look up independent sources for more info.
Funny exactly 40 years earlier, JFK stole Chicago and the state of Illinois from Nixon thanks to his fathers connections.

So much so that we couldn't even get rescue helicopters into Iran before they began breaking down
joshuaschargers 1 month ago
@joshuaschargers TARP cannot be solely blamed on the Dems. Had the Bush administration pioneered something other than TARP, there would be no TARP for, as you say, the Dems to swell. Let's stick to the basics, TARP was a socialist way about controlling a large percentage of the economy because the GOP figured that those businesses were too big to fail. What is contradictory for the GOP is that since they yell about government control, they showed the world even they can do it.
CazK88 1 month ago
@CazK88 That's insane! "Pioneered something other than TARP.." Dems would have rewritten it no matter what. They had the house and senate. All they had to do was wait 'til Obama came to office before sending it to the office of the President.
joshuaschargers 1 month ago
@joshuaschargers The fact is, what caused our more recent deficit was Bush II. A tax cut. A war - unfunded. Another tax cut. Another war - unfunded. A huge Medicare drug benefit - unfunded. Anti-regulators in charge of regulatory agencies. And an economic crash that could have become the next Great Depression. The Republicans sure seem intent on making that happen, but they have been unsuccessful, so far thankfully.
CazK88 1 month ago
@CazK88 If Gore were POTUS he would have destroyed the economy as he believes in global warming and doensn't believe in tax cust. News flash for you: there should NOT be surplusses. I love you liberals, if the gas station makes a profit you cry "UNFAIR" but if the government takes more than it needs (budgets are supposed to balance and no more) you love it. Too many people do not realize how lucky we were that Gore didn't succeed in stealing the election in 2000.
Srd1126 1 month ago
@Srd1126 Well a message to you GOP nut-jobs...the 90s were known as the best times in the U.S. since the 19th century economically because of the Clinton Administration. After he left, Bush rammed the economy into a major deficit that we are still, to this day, are suffering from and will continue for years to come. Everytime a Republican is in there, a Democrat always has to clean up their mess. History tells us that. Learn it.
CazK88 1 month ago
@CazK88 From 1994 on, Clinton had to work with a Republican controlled House & Senate. HillaryCare was shot down immediately, as were most other Dem spending bills. My History tells me that when there is a Dem in the White House, and a Dem controlled congress, we get 9% unemployment or higher, higher taxes, increased government spending, outrageous gas prices, and an economic recession. It happened 1976-1980 and it's happening now.
joshuaschargers 1 month ago
@CazK88 the economy only improved after Newt took congress and tited Clinton's hands. Economy was terrible unbder Carter and now Obama. We had a boom under Reagan and yes, Bush43. You need to learn some actual history, not get info from MSNBC. We are suffering now because an unprepared man-child got elected in 2008 and has the believes the economic ideas of Hugo Chavez. I have yet to see a Democrat clean any mess up, eventheir own. NEWT IN 2012!
Srd1126 1 month ago
@Srd1126 If you are that shallow minded to say Newt will win president as you sit here and talk about how such of a bad Speaker he was, I can already tell how shallow minded you are. If you know anything about history and progress (change), the policies and implementation a current president pioneers will not take effect until a new president comes in. That's all the time! So what Obama may do now, you may not see until after his second term (yes he will win 2012).
CazK88 1 month ago
@CazK88 you are correct about one thing, most of us will not know the disaster of Obama's policies for years. Gays in the military; trillion dollar deficits; printing money like mad; weak foreign policy; suing a company for OPENING a plant in the USA; selling guns to Mexican drug cratels, the list goes on. Sure we can see the disaster, but how bad will it be?

The blatant installation of Bush/Cheney's PNAC admin was required to implement their blueprint, "Rebuilding America's Defenses."
The term 'defense' here is used in the Orwellian sense, meaning, OFFENSE/AGGRESSION disguised as retaliatory i.e. disinfo narrative sold to the public mind via M$M, which acts as PR for empire's aim$.
The Dems, who pose no substantive threat to the US being a right-wingers wet, bloody dream, of course played their part in perpetuating the new phony 'war' scam.

@aarongohn The video is not stupid. All major news media were reporting that the polls in Florida had closed, when in fact they had not. This impacted Florida voting, because many people thought it had been too late to cast their votes, when in fact they had not been too late. Of all the things to complain about regarding Florida 2000, this would have been the biggest.
denniskucinich2012 1 year ago
@denniskucinich2012 you get election materials telling you when your polls close. it's up to you to know that. and it's not like this is the first time panhandle voters dealt with this situation. they deal with it in every election. they know they're in a different time zone. if you're going to give them the benefit of that much stupidity than you certainly have to account for the people confused into voting for buchanan by butterfly ballot (which was technically illegal)

Gore should have had the whole state recounted. He only had the democratic counties recounted. If the whole state was recounted, he would have over taken Bush.
CoolScoobydoo 1 year ago
Gore did not have time to recount the whole state because Florida did not have a method to request a Statewide recount. Rather, each of the 67 counties had to be requested INDIVIDUALLY, and each had to agree to perform a recount AFTER conducting a 1% sample. There was NO WAY to count all the state before Harris planned to certify the election for Bush one week after the election.

If you are too stupid to figure out a voting ballot you should not be voting. The ballots were not that hard to figure out. If you can't read, write, or understand english you aren't helping anyone by voting.
The New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN did a recount and it showed that Bush won Florida.
For all the people still complaining about this, get over it.
mg5679 2 years ago
Wrong on every count. Ballot in Palm Beach was deceptive for many intelligent people, not only due to layout, but due to angle of ballot when placed on machine and problems with alignment - for Bush as well just more for Gore; Post and Times results were slanted; a more accurate recount by the National Opinion Research Center showed Gore winning by every standard, even conservative counting methods
zgreggz83 1 year ago
As far as getting over it - ever heard the axiom that if you don't learn from history failures will repeat? Apparently you haven't learned.
zgreggz83 1 year ago
There are some leasons from this election. If you can't read, write, or speak english you should not be voting. One law I wish they would pass is all voting ballots have to be in english. Learn the language or leave the country.
It is something when you see the long lines for voting and some people complain about them. I wonder if they have ever heard getting an abscete ballot.
mg5679 1 year ago
It wasn't the language barrier (instructions were in Spanish regardless). It was a poor ballot design (admittedly a Democratic fault); faulty machines; poor quality paper; machines in wealthy counties that spit out returns that had over votes in wealthy counties but did not do the same in poor counties;

First of all, Oregon was decided by about 7,000 votes, Florida was decided by 537 votes. Yes Bush won every recount in Florida, but why? Because there were thousands of votes that were not counted.

9/11 was not the fault of Bush.
9/11 was because we support Israel. And the Arabs have asked us to stop. We denied for decades. And we payed the price.

Osama also made death Threats to First Lady Hilary Clinton.
