wow no old patched ICG or CONRAIL units in the consist!!......9 out of 10 MKT trains had em towards the end neat to see a bright blue Conrail unit with a little green patch that said MKT or orange & white ICG units patched as MKT the Katy was really strapped for cash at the end never repainted 2nd hand units they would buy
You may want to correct the year in your vid description. I think you mean that 8-22-1988, not 8-22-2010, was when the Katy was no longer independent. Great video, I always enjoy seeing classic fallen flag footage. :)
Oh wow.... awesome video.... -After closure of it's own line to St. Louis in 1986, the Katy used UP's mainline from Sedalia, MO to access its connections and intermodel facility at Baden yard in St. Louis. That's all gone today. This lends so much imagery to anyone who wants to imagine scenes on the now empty roadbed north of the Missouri River. This is really special, because its very difficult to find any videos of the Katy in MO during the 1960's, 70's, and 80's.Thanks so much for posting!

This video brings back memories. I remember watching Mo-Pac and MKT roll past the Kirkwood train station when I was a kid.
