EX650 and 650R are the same bike. As far as I know, Kawasaki uses 650R for marketing purposes but EX650 is the actual model name.

do you have any problems with glare or seeing the front dash?

No I didn't have any problems seeing the display because of glare. The contrast could have been a little higher but that goes for most digital dashes in the daylight. At night the display turns red with the text black. Pretty neat.
