Wow... That's pretty dangerous... Although I would have loved to have not worn a seatbelt when I was a kid, because it is hard to lie down and sleep when you are wearing one... Plus anytime my family went on a road trip we'd have to get up at an insanely early hour so there really wasn't anything to do but sleep... Anyhoo- It is actually state law in Georgia, USA to wear a seatbelt. We have this nifty catchphrase, "Click it or Ticket!"
