Anyways, I'm not sure why this trend is dying- died, actually. Prada, Valentino, (Super high end luxury) NEVER use black models anymore. It's insane. I'm not sure what exactly happened. There is also an insanely small representation of non-white people in the media as well- ALSO a regression from the 90's. It's crazy how the high-fashion industry is still based on the eurocentric standards of beauty, when Europe & the U.S is becoming more multicultural. My younger sister for example, aged 14, had been urged even by strangers to do high fashion, she's 5'10, skinny with high cheekbones and she just has that model look about her.

@IanJar I heard about the neanderthal link months ago. Basically, according to the study, all non-Africans have varying degrees of neanderthal blood in them. I don't doubt that it is true. Technically, it would mean that non-Africans share remnants of a hominid bloodline that actually predates and is independent of Africans.
Anyway, I'd figure you'd have considered BBC a part of the "white" media that you rant against. Bet you bought this story right away though, didn't you?

@IanJar There are a TON of resources in Africa. If African leaders wanted to, they could shut out all of the foreign companies that are supposedly "raping" their resources. But since most African leaders are more interested in lining their own pockets than they are in helping their fellow Africans, don't expect much to change. After all, Africans were selling their fellow Africans to Arabs and Europeans, just substitute slave traders for corporations, and it's the exact same thing nowadays.
