Never heard this delightful rendition or the singer of this magnificent piece of Bossa nova literature. A beautifully written lyric and music like this can be performed in a multitude of styles and still sound great. That is what makes it great music. This is the song of Brazil and she sings the official version in the native language with the native emotions that go with it. It is pointless to compare her bersion to any one else. circa 1960s Brazil, I wonder if you really consider that Bossa is not embraced by Anglo-Saxon ears? Tom Jobim appeared with many American singers on TV throughout the

Sofia, being a self confessed Bossa Nova fan for a very long time, way before Sitti and the Brazilian genre landed the Philippine shores.
