  • It is amazing to see this monastery as one of the last custodian of Lord Buddha's teachings. Lama Tsongkhapa was amazing for having creating an enduring institution that both preserve the teachings and its pure lineage of monastic living.

  • Gaden monastery founded by the heart disciples of Lama Tsongkhapa so that he can be taken cared for since he is older and tires easily from traveling. Due to the founding of this monastery, the conch shell offered by Lord Buddha to Lama Tsongkhapa's previous life was found and hence the prophesy of propagating Lord Buddha's authentic interpretation of his teachings in our age of degeneration.

  • I think by bringing his students to Gaden Monastery, he is directly showing everyone what they are working so hard for. All the obstacles and difficulties in Kechara House is worth it because we are supporting such a great monastic institution!

  • It is simply amazing to be looking at the surviving institution that spreads Lord Buddha's teachings that was further developed by Lama Tsongkhapa.

  • I am very taouched when I see Tsem Tulku Rinpoche makes offerings of Manjushri statues and Monk Robes to HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. This current Zong RInpoche is already a new reincarnation. I wonder how that feels, making offerings to your teacher, who is already in his new reincarnation. We can see how devoted Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is to his Gurus.

  • Rinpoche's strong Guru Devotion shows very clearly... from a few video here in Youtube... but like you, I also very touched to see how he still have such a strong devotion to his guru's new incarnation.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has brough students to Bodhgaya and Kathmandu before. I saw the pictures on Tsemtulku(dot)com. The students are very fortunate to go on pilgrimage with their Guru. I hope one day I can go with Tsem Tulku Rinpoche too. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is very knowledgeable and REAL.

  • Yes, Rinpoche has brought students on pilgrimage before to these holy places. I also hope I will be able to go one day.

  • yeah, i agree totally with you andreasJ77, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is REAL, because otherwise His work in Malaysia won't manifest into such a success! haha!

  • I too wish I have the chance to visit a great monastic university like Gaden with a Guru! I dont know why but I feel very touched watching the offerings being made to all the monks. Also, when I saw Geshe Yeshe, one of the old monks that Rinpoche visited, it felt very warm as if I am looking at my grandfather. These holy monks from Tibet still exists after their exile and are still working hard daily to make Dharma grow.

  • It is amazing to see Gaden Monastery and such a beautiful and spiritual environment. I would really love to visit Gaden Monastery one day. I love to watch the monks in prayers. I especially like the young monks, they are so innocent and cute!

  • The book is now available on Amazon US and also Amazon UK- a new cover of brown background with Tsem Rinpoches face on the cover! I have the first edition that is with a yellow cover.

  • This is great. The revised book cover looks much better with Rinpoche's face on it. I think this book is a must read for those who wish to go on a spiritual path in Tibetan Buddhism.

  • I think what I like best about Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is that Rinpoche

discourages his students to be involved in politics and just focus on the spiritual part of Tibetan Buddhism. He mentioned and shared quite a lot of this in his book, Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale which was launched in London and in the London Book Fair recently.

  • These monks renounced everything and just focus on studying and practising the Dharma as their core. This is very inspiring. I like to look at the old and young monks and see how happy and at peace they are.

  • I like the Journey to Gaden DVD that is produced by Kechara Media & Publications that is a compilation of all these Tsem Tulku Rinpoche Goes Home clips. It has a nice little booklet with pages about Tsongkhapa, Gaden in Tibet and now India, also pictures and descriptions of a few Gaden great masters.

  • Yes, please continue to post these videos on youtube. I dont know about others but it has helped me tremendously, especially videos like the Eight Verses of Mind Transformation that made a lot of sense to me and I can use it always to remind myself about the practice of Buddhism kindness.

  • I am glad people like me who are far away from any Guru can get teachings from Rinpoche through youtube. The teachings are recorded completely as they are presented in the centre, and we get to watch videos about his students and the activities in the centre too.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche really is a great Dharma teacher. He presented his teachings in a way that is generic and universally applicable in daily lives. He and other great teachers like His Holiness the Dalai Lama is really bringing Buddhism to a wider audience and sharing with them that Buddhism is not about praying or meditation, it is about mind transformation.

  • I especially like Tsem Tulku Rinpoches book, If Not Now When?, published by Kechara Media & Publications. It is full of quotes and beautiful pictures that helps us to contemplate and think about our reality and how we can be happier with Dharma principles.

  • I have a biography booklet of Tsem Rinpoche. It was mentioned that Tsem Rinpoche did a lot of charity work for the monastic and lay people alike always. For the monastery, he fundraised to build a monk hostel, and for lay people, he gave food monthly to the poor villagers, buying them groceries/food for the whole family.

  • I am really impressed. Imagine one Rinpoche from Gaden Monastery can do so much, imagine many many Rinpoches going out to do that in many places around the world, Dharma will flourish and grow tremendously. I rejoice for all the great Rinpoches and masters and monks in Gaden Monastery.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is really a visionary, to start so many departments under Kechara in Malaysia. Kechara is really an exciting organisation. I check Kecharahouse(dot)com daily and there are so many news and new youtube videos etc.

  • Yes, they have grown and now they are at the stage where they are looking into getting a permanent soup kitchen to cook hot food and provide a place of rest for the homeless. They are also looking further ahead and planning to set up a nurture centre in the soup kitchen, to counsel people and also to train the homeless up with different skills so that the homeless can be independent again.

  • I read that Kechara Soup Kitchen started with just giving away a few packets of hot food to some homeless folks in town. Now they distribute at least 500 packs of food a weekend and they have many volunteers. This shows that the folks at Kechara really works hard to get their departments up and running

  • It is amazing to see Kecharas growth. From a centre in 2004, it grew into 12 departments that cover Soup Kitchen, Media & Publications, Saraswati Arts, Discovery, and even Kechara Oasis, a vegetarian restaurant!

  • Apart from the topics in Lamrim, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche also taught on other teaching. For example, you can watch the whole teaching of Eight Verses of Mind Transformation here on youtube. I think this was taught years ago. The teachings are summarized and compiled into a book called Compassion Conquers All, available via Amazon, Wisdom Books UK, and also Snow Lions catalogue.

  • Yes, for example, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche taught about the 12 interdependent links that is related to the wheel of life. This teaching is available as Gossips and Some Dharma Talk. You can get it from Kechara(dot)com/eshop or even Amazon.

  • Hi Andreasj77, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche gave many teachings before and although Rinpoche didnt mention specifically, the teachings are all based on topics in the Lamrim, but Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has taught it in such a way that it I very modern and applicable to daily living.

  • Have Tsem Tulku Rinpoche taught Lamrim or organised any Lamrim course? I would like to learn from Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

  • I have heard a lot about this Lamrim but have not really gone and find out what it is about. Thank you for your explanation. Even in one thread of comment I can learn a lot!

  • Yes, the text is a progression from basic to advance topics. It is really a great text to study. In fact, one practitioner said to me that that is the best thing that happened to him finding the Lamrim, after years of studying and learning Buddhism on his own.

  • Does this mean it is a progressive course from beginners to advance, all in one book? I am hoping to have a course of study like that as it is more systematic. I have been reading various sutras here and there and I find that it is not very organized learning.

  • Yes, karma is discussed in depth in this text. There are also more sophisticated topic like bodhichitta, realisation of emptiness and also beginners topic like how relate to and learn from a spiritual guide.

  • Hey, do they explain Karma in details in this text? I am very intrigue by this topic but havent been able to really grasp the topic. I hope I can learn more from Kechara House's Lamrim Class.

  • I attend Lamrim class in Kechara House and so far it has been the best learning experience. The Lamrim itself is very organized and are mainly focused on 3 sections: the lower scope, the medium scope and the great scope. The text mapped out the attitudes in studying the path of these 3 types of people.

  • Great! I will drop by when I go to Kuala Lumpur. Its great that I can connect with the great teachings of the past, available previously only through monastic studies. Cant wait to go to class.

  • Yes, you can get the 3 volumes by Lama Tsongkhapa from Snow Lion, and a commentary by Kyabje Pabongkha Rinpoche called Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand, but the best is to attend a Lamrim course or class that has a teacher from a proper lineage (who has received the instruction/ teachings) explaining/ sharing / discussing the text with you. Kechara House has on going Lamrim class every Friday from 8 to 10pm. Check out the details from the website Kecharahouse(dot)com.

  • How can I learn more about the Lamrim Chenmo? Can we get an English version of this text?

  • Lama Tsongkhapa is a great scholar, an erudite master of both Sutra and Tantra. He studied under many great teachers, and has written the Great Exposition on the Stages of the Path Lamrim Chenmo, based on Atishas root text A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment.

  • Thats great. Wow, comic of Lama Tsongkhapas biography. Thats what I have been waiting for. Thanks for the information. I will check out the eshop at Kechara.

  • Hi, if you read Chinese, you can purchase The Legend of Tsongkhapa, a short biography of Lama Tsongkhapa in comic form from Kechara(dot)com/eshop . The folks at Kechara Media & Publications are getting the work translated into English and negotiating translation into other languages as well.

  • I always find Lama Tsongkhapas story a bit dry as it was about him as a scholar and hence I didnt really read his biography. Any suggestion on books I can read?

  • Try to imagine how Gaden was when Lama Tsongkhapa the founder was alive! Lama Tsongkhapa himself walking down the path to go his meditation cave, teaching in Gaden, establishing the Great Prayer Festival, I wish theres a time machine.

  • I personally feel that the grandeur of Gaden is very impressive. If this is India, which many great masters rebuilt it from nothing (and they are still less decorated and as grand as the the original Gaden in Tibet), I cannot imagine how Gaden was in its peak back in Tibet. It must have been spectacular the view, the buildings, thousands of monks doing prayers in a big hall on the snow mountain. Wow!

  • I like this video on how everything is orderly and organized, including how to make offerings and the way offerings are made. It gave me a sense that this is sincere, and not just hopping into a temple and just put the cash in the donation box.

  • Yes, from the external order, one can imply how strict and organized the teaching system/ syllabus is. And this is not new, for example, for Gaden, I am sure this was a tradition that was handed down since it was founded by Lama Tsongkhapa 600 years ago.

  • This is the first time I am being shown the Tibetan Monastic System wow they have Abbot, Umze (Lead Chanter), the way the monks sit, and everything is so organized. No wonder the Tibetan Monastery/ Monastic Universities produce so many great teachers/ leaders in the Buddhist arena.

  • The video starts off with how disillusioned we are with life and we engaged ourselves in various activities to keep us busy. How true. This is really a great video that made me think deeper about my purpose in life.

  • I like this video Journey to Gaden because this is a good documentary to show how pilgrimage is done for modern people. I learnt a lot about making offerings from this video. Thank you for posting it up.

  • Isnt it amazing how a short video clip can change our perspective? Wait till you watch Tsem Tulku Rinpoches teaching videos. Those will make you contemplate on your whole approach to life!

  • I feel that too, I am also contemplating to look for spirituality after watching this video as I know that escaping myself through various activities brings me nowhere.

  • Loden Sherab took Protector Setrap along with Him to Tibet in view of this because Lord Setrap has the power that equals to Him and will be able to assist Him when they are in Tibet. Lord Setrap is powerful!

  • Yes, I heard that the Setrap Puja in Kechara House every Monday is always packed because many people have derived many postive changes in their career, personal life etc due to the puja. This is amazing.

  • this video is just awesome, showing all that we need to know about and very short and clear explaination on the High Lamas they are meeting and the places they went! this is just amazing!

  • Really, this videos are very informative.. it explained everything we need to know about Buddhist practice especially in Tibetan Buddhism; the significant & the reasons for each gesture like making offering to 3 Jewels, etc., even the gesture of offering khata to lamas. Thank you very much.

  • Isn't this great that we can learn many of the basics of Tibetan Buddhism practice from one single DVD alone? And this is just a documentary. I think the people in Kechara are really knowledgeable and are practising Dharma, else they won't be able to produce a video like this.

  • being able to go to holy places is already i bonus for me, what with the merits to be able to sponsor statues and robes to the Sangha! this would be very beneficial to the Sangha as most of them could not afford one really!

  • healingsbuddha : actually i think they would not figure how fast they could managed to come up with the money to sponsor so many statues and robes... must be a strong center eh? they are certainly very generous!

  • i have heard of a lot of miracles that happened to the students who paid homages to Him. Amazing stuff! well, i have witnessed some amazing turn in my life too... where it is basically not possible but it did happened!

  • You probably read it from the Chinese Setrap book that I heard was written by one of H E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's student. I hope KMP (Kechara Media and Publications) come out with the English version soon! I can't wait!

  • frozbyte23: you are not the only one.... :P

but i have managed to make do with some of the youtube teachings introducing Lord Setrap like in Setrap Superstar video and many others... check em out! and enjoy!

  • Rinpoche is making offerings himself the Manjushri Statue and Monk Robes to HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche......Rinpoche really devoted to all his Guru, he will never forget any single words and teachings from his Guru....Im very happy and fortunate to have Rinpoche as my Guru to guide me along the path........

  • Gaden Monastery, is the mother monastery for Sera, Drepung monastery, all these monastery is Gelug Lineage, spreading Buddha and Lord Tsongkhapa teaching. Im so fortunate to be able to practice Gelug lineage here in Malaysia....Thanks to Rinpoche, who are here to spread the dharma teachings........

  • this is all the kindness of Lama Tsongkhapa that we are able to practise Gelug lineage which also means the virtuous ones... not forgetting the rest of the Rinpoches and Lamas who spreaded the teachings to far and wide!

  • Is that the Protector Lord Setrap??? Wow, it was so huge and nice, and i really crazy for Lord Setrap, cause Setrap did really help me alot in my daily in clearing my obstacles.........May the protector always be with everyone and protects them......

  • In one of Rinpoche's teachings, Rinpoche mentioned that Lord Setrap's powers was tested and proven to be very strong by Loden Sherab who brought Lord Setrap to Tibet.

  • yeah, i heard that in one of the videos too... where Loden Sherab was crossing the strong current river, that time there was 2 protector following Loden Sherab and by using His psychic power, He pressed down both protector but Lord Setrap was able to sustain the pressing...

  • Yah, tenzintrinlay, i watched that video also, everytime when Rinpoche talks about HH Dalai Lama, Rinpoche voice toned down and with folded hands, can see from here, the deep love of Rinpoche to HH, and how devoted Rinpoche are to HH and also how Rinpoche really want to work hard to spread the dharma and also fulfilled HH vision.

  • this shows how respectful Rinpoche is to H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama whom is one of Rinpoche's Guru. He really is a devoted student and Rinpoche had always stressed Guru Devotion by holding our commitments

  • Yeah and isn't it funny that there are people out there who kept spreading rumours that HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is against His Holiness? Very weird people who create schism.

  • Rinpoche is prostrating to HH Dalai Throne in Gaden, besides that, also making offerings to HH Throne.......I remember i watch a video in youtube, talking about Rinpoche and HH, you know what Rinpoche is ordained by HH himself.........Wow....

  • There is also a throne for His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Kechara House since the first day. I guess the people who create schism are either jealous or they are really ignorant and couldn't be bothered to find out more and just want to reassert their ego by being 'knowledgeable' in Buddhism in forums.

  • First time i see this video. Im thinking of how Kechara House members and Spiritual Advisor HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche can raise that amount of funds in sponsoring the 3000 Statues and monks robes......It must be through the kindness and blessing from the lama

  • I really envy every member in Kechara House, such a meritorious offering to all the holy monks in Gaden. And Gaden is the Monastery founded by Lama Tsongkhapa...Wow, really holy, look likes everyone is back to their own home....especially Rinpoche......Welcome home Rinpoche, the Abbot of Gaden is very happy for you, i can see that in the video......

  • Well triplegems, beside the 3000 statues, KH also offering 3000 monks robes to Gaden.......in the video you can the people are putting their hand together to prepared, cut, and sew the robes, plus packaging.......How nice is it....

  • Look at Geshe Puntsok Dorje from Gaden, he was there helping out to monitor the 3000 Manjushri statues, and make sure everything is in a proper order..... and the monks is cleaning the holy statues....Gosh, the monks is actually cleaning 300 Manjushri Statues......

  • Wow, i was impressed that Kechara House members and Rinpoche offering 3000 Manjushri statues to Gaden. Look at them, unloading the statues, unpack everything, put it nicely and waiting for cleaning session and painting session........Really Rejoice....

  • Home is where the heart is...Rinpoche's heart is in Gaden Monastery, which speaks volumes of Rinpoche.

  • Wow! Such a powerful offering to 3000 monks! Kechara House has collected tremendous merits to benefit even more people! I shall be checking this center out....kecharahouse(dot)com

  • Gaden Shartse's main prayer hall housed a miraculous Manjushri statue that displayed many miraculous signs that was witnessed by many. During the inauguration of the prayer hall many years ago, His Holiness while touring and blessing the hall, stopped in front of the statue and gazed at Manjushri for awhile. Then he told the monks that Gaden Monastery would be great in its learning and education. That meant many Geshes and Rinpoches would be produced in this monastery to benefit many.

  • You know when my mum who is a Christian, commented that Rinpoche seemed to be prostrating everywhere in the monastery. Despite his high incarnation status, H. E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is ever so humble particularly to the three jewels. Wonderful video.

  • I love looking at the Buddha pictures that tsem rinpoche drew when he was just a child. Tsem rinpoches natural inclination for dharma at a young age shows very strong imprints from previous lives. No wonder he overcame all odds to join the great monastic university of gaden, and is now doing wonderful work in Malaysia with his organization kechara. His website tsemtulku . com and youtube has more inspiring teachings.

  • Tsem rinpoche certainly did a lot for his monastery - sponsoring the debate courtyard flooring, buildings for the khangtsen, the gaden hospital and many other noble works. I rejoice in tsem rinpoches good works, may he live long and continue to turn the wheel of dharma for all

  • Great commentary on the kechara pilgrims journey to gaden monastery in india! I feel much closer to rinpoche after watching his and understand so much more about the traditions of Tibetan monasteries! What strikes me most is tsem rinpoches sincerity and humility when making offerings the Abbot, ex-Abbot and his guru zong rinpoche. And tsem rinpoche being offered a Lama Tsongkhapa hat by the monks! How auspicious!

  • Wow tsem rinpoche wears the panchen sonam drakpa hat!! I never knew he was the abbot of all three great gelugpa monasteries of gaden, drepung and sera in his previous incarnations! No wonder his organization kechara is growing so big! I look forward to see what more tsem rinpoche will do in Malaysia, it will definitely be huge and beneficial!

  • Tsem Rinpoche is such a humble and pure monk. In all the dharma talks, rinpoche never brings attention to his high position and rank in the monastery. Only when we watch this video do we see the fanfare and grandeur in which he is welcomed back to the monastery. All the lamas and old monks make offerings to him and they look so so so happy to see him! Rinpoche is as beloved in Gaden as he is in Kechara house!

  • Before watching this, I never knew that Rinpoche was already recognized as a tulku when he was 7 months old!! Rinpoche went thru so much hardship as a child and young teenager, all for the practice of dharma. Watch this video to learn more about tsem rinpoches early years and his journey to ordination and enthronement in gaden monastery!

  • How wonderful to see Rinpoche going home to his home monastery of Gaden in south india. How fortunate his students are to be able to visit such a prestigious and old monastery which still practices and teaches a pure Buddhist lineage! tsem rinpoche is definitely well loved in his monastery and it is extremely touching to him paying homage to his root guru H.H. zong rinpoche. Both lamas are such highly attained masters but one manifests as the guru, the other as the student! Wonderful!

  • Rinpoches monastery rejoices so much at his Dharma work. Watch how happy the Abbot and older monks are when Rinpoche returns to Gaden monastery after many years of teaching overseas! Its nice to see Rinpoche being welcomed back in style; many monks came to make offerings to Rinpoche while he was in Gaden taking his students on pilgrimage

  • The kechara website says that rinpoche is giving refuge during Wesak. I wish so much I was also in Malaysia so I could receive the vows from Rinpoche. You guys over there are so lucky to have such a high Lama establish his Dharma center in Kuala Lumpur. Im sure his monastery is very happy with the work he is doing.

  • Ganden Monastery in Tibet was prophesized by Buddha Shakyamuni, and that one of Buddha's disciple buried a conch shell to where Ganden Monastery was to be built . And when it came to Lama Tsongkhapa's time , he used his clairvoyance to locate the conch shell and proceeded to build the monastery on top of it.

  • Apparently the current Ganden Monastery was set up in 1969 and it has existed up to now. The upkeep of it was through many hardships amd effort.

  • The people who had the opportunity to go to Ganden have very good merits to be able to perform acts that help them to collect even more merits .

  • Where there is Buddha dharma , the monks should support the lay commuicties by providing spiritual knowledge to the people and the lay peolpe should support the sangha by providng material neccessities I see it as symbiotic relationship. In order the monks do not spend all their time to procure necessities of life so many scholars and teachers can be produced to further spread dharma to the world.

  • On one hand it is very sad that the Monks are so so poor , but on the other hand they are learning the Buddha Dharma wihout much distraction for the benefit of others. i'm, very sure good things will happen for these monks as they have good motivation.

  • We must find ways to support the monks so they can carry on learnig the dharma and spreading the Lama Tsongkhapa tradition . Without the monks all forms of teachings and learnig will eventually be lost to human kind.

  • Its pure joy just to watch Rinpoche offering khatas to the high Rinpoches .

  • Pukhang Khamsen was Rinpoche's dormitory or college right ?

  • I rejoice that Kechara House members had a hand in preserving the Buddhist tradtion through their hard work , contribution and devotion to their lama Tsem Rinpoche.

  • I want to go to ganden monastery as there are so many holy images there , and I will be blessed the whole time by many holy beings and holy items when I am there.

  • The holy sangha is there to preserve our the Buddhist traditions and teaching, so if the sangha disappears then degeneration of Buddha Dharma will be very swift. How much these beings have to sacrifice in order to benefit others , through poverty and difficult conditions in south India.

  • The way Tsem Rinpoche prostrates is so so humble gives me goosebumps just watching this video.

  • The narration is very clear , i praise the Kechara's media department in producing this work.

I hope I can get hold of the actual DVD for this.

  • DrManhattan, You can access the kechara commercial site kechara(dot)com

  • Offering the khata to a holy beings or lama is offering up of our wishes and aspirations . What a gentle way to request for a wish.

  • May I create the causes for to be able to make offerings to high lamas . i pray may my wish come true and i 'll be able to visit Ganden.

  • Rinpoche is setting a very very kind example by offering to both college Ganden Shartste and also Ganden Jangste as most of the time offerings is made to one 's college only. How very kind.

  • The preparations of the 3000 Manjushri and cutting of all the cloth for the monks wow , must have taken ages and so much effort to make it happen. Rejoice in all the people involved in this most meritorious act.

  • A khata must be a very beautiful item made of silk and has the 8 auspicious signs on it as well. What a fit offering to highly qualified spiritual beings .

  • I have watched a lot of Tv in my life but none that gives us insights into the workings of a monastery thank you Kechara for opening up the world of spiritual beings for us and for Rinpoche to ever continuously manifest benefit for all beings .

  • Kechara Media and Publications team is doing their very best and working very hard to promote Rinpoche's work to the rest of the world in order to benefit whoever who finds it interesting.

  • Gurus for Hire Enlightenment for Sale is a very informative book indeed and currently we're busy promoting this book to the eyes of the world in the ongoing London Book Fair in UK. I am very proud of the Kechara Media and Publications team. Bravo!

  • i have found that this book is very informative and essential for all the Dharma Center to have one just because this is something of a fact for all to know and apply to...

  • the reason of no-center or Lama hopping among students had been clearly mentioned in the gurus for hire and enlightenment for sale book and videos. i found it very interesting and logic too. at the same time Rinpoche didn't promote himself on that

  • i guess i have to start my Dharma work now to have the fortune to be able to visit such holy places in future and with Tsem Rinpoche leading the pilgrimage would be very nice! i pray hard for that!

  • I love Tsem Tulku Rinpoche because He is just so compassionate to others and doesn't convert people from another religion or even doesn't get students from another Dharma center.

  • but i like this video anyways, it reminds me of the scene that i have seen before in Tibet. i went there some time back and would love to go there again. now especially to Gaden Monastery.

  • wow, being able to go to the Gaden Monastery where Lama Tsongkhapa once lived in is just awesome! i am not able to go now but would love it and it would be nice if i can follow Kechara's pilgrimage to Tibet! hope there's one soon!

  • Home is where the heart is and obviously Rinpoche's heart is in Gaden... Rinpoche showed us he never forget his teachers or lineage in all his teachings; all of whom are cennected to Gaden...

  • One should not forget where he came from and should not forget his teachers and everybody because that is the root. without the root, there will be no plant or flowers to blossom.

  • this is very true, we can see from this video that Tsem Rinpoche doesn't forget anyone from Gaden Monastery and i have come to know that there has always been contribution made back to the mother temple in Gaden Monastery by Kechara House! How nice!

  • You know never try to convert people into Buddhism when they are not interested. I myself come from another faith and only got into Buddhism because Buddhism unlike other faiths never convert people. That's why i love H. E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche as he is a perfect example of this. Just listen to his Dharma teachings...never once he said convert and be saved by Buddha!

  • i agree with you frozbyte23, really respect Tsem Tullku Rinpoche because HE really never said anything about converting people in all of HE's Dharma talks! HE really believe in the respect of other religion.

  • i believe this is the respect that every religion should give as to not offended anyone - practise the peace among religion where not harming other people or the people's feelings. this should be the way.

  • Assiahproject: yes, it is very hard to get people to listen to Dharma when they dont have the karma to receive them. It will make them scared away from the Dharma even if we push them too hard.

  • Yeah they really struggle a lot for food and looking for sponsors for pujas or to get facilities for Dharma books, ritual items this is how Rinpoche struggled in the early days before He was enthroned officially.

  • All the monks here are very poor and have to endured a lot of sufferings in order to get Dharma. I pray for their perseverance.

  • I was amazed to see Kechara House and Rinpoche Sponsored and Offered the 3000 Manjushri Statues and Monk robes to Gaden Monastery, such a meritorous act, really rejoice for all of them......By the way, I love Gaden Monastery, very nice and holy, i can feel the energy by watching this video......

  • cainrafael, good idea... we should come out with a plan then propose to Rinpoche for another trip with new people. Wow, it would be great to be able to visit Gaden with Ripoche...

  • NattouP: I feel that being part of the planning committee would be even greater hahhaa to be the cause of such an event..

  • Wow, thank you NattouP. You are so intelligent and have a lot of Dharma knowledge in you, thank you for sharing with us.

  • chickensoupbowl : I simply need a spiritual outlet to share all that I know with. It gets frustrating after a while when you're with non spiritual people..

  • cainrafael: haha I understand what you mean. It is hard to talk about Dharma when everyone is not interested in it.

  • Yeah we are the ones that getting the merits by making offerings to Sangha & yet some feel like Sangha is at their mercy...! I sometimes feel sad for these ignorant people... worldly wealth is everything to them!

  • Ninje08 : that will not happen if the sangha community is self sustaining and independent...people get the wrong idea nowadays that if they pay they own the sangha...the sangha isnt some corporation where you gain control by buying shares!

  • cainrafael: the nerve of people who do things like that! I wonder what kind of negative situation will this kind of acts create for them in the future!

  • shoujian, agreed with you, it will be great to join such a trip with Rinpoche because we would be learning about Gaden and even getting on-the-spot Dharma teachings directly from Rinpoche. Wish KH will organise another trip like this one soon.

  • NattouP: can we propose with an elaborate plan? would that be good enough to convince Rinpoche for the sake of all the new people?

  • Agree NattouP, Countless of merits accumulated by the students, plus Rinpoche is kind to bring them around, explaining each and every corner......Everyone is fill with happiness, peace and calm in Gaden Monastery, i wish i can go there one day.......

  • Comment removed

  • To be able to make offerings to Sangha community is great merits... so those who have participated are really lucky. Furthermore the offering of Manjushri statues is especially important for the young monks there... this will help in their studies of Buddha Dharma.

  • NattouP: wow that is awesome. if I offer that statue will I gain their intelligence too since I am the direct cause of it? i really wanna try!

  • Hehe.. assiahproject, technically we are making connection with Buddha's intelligence if we're directly involve in making or offering Buddha statue to Sangha... However, it also depends on our motivation; are we doing it thinking of getting something back? Especially if we were thinking of worldly gains, then we would only get good karma for worldly gains... not Buddha's intelligence...

  • NattouP: lemme put it this way: I wouldnt need to be so intelligent if i only cared for my own survival :)

  • cainrafael: haha thanks for answering my question for me. I guess great minds do think alike eh?

  • assiahproject: yea it really would. maybe we could work together to organize something similiar in the near future?

  • cainrafael: great aspiration and thinking! instead of just admiring you wanna be part of it! I just hope that it carries through..

  • I love Gaden Monastery, although i didnt join in the group for this tour, i'm rejoice what Kechara House and Rinpoche has done here.....

  • I'm wondering if they will make a trip back to Ganden soon, hopefully with Tsem Rinpoche coming along.

It would really be nice, as Rinpoche always explain alot to his students.

If we were to go there alone, we just see the place and the holy monks and that's it, but if Tsem Rinpoche were to go with us, he will make sure we understand the significance of everything.

  • shoujian: please alert me as soon as he makes another trip to Gaden! I want to go there as well! would be nice to make a connection with the monks there..

  • assiahproject: yea it's definetely nice to meet the monks but before that you gotta try to contribute as much as possible from where you are or else there's not much purpose to it

  • I wished I know about KH much earlier so that I get to go as well, but going to Nepal recently wasnt bad either!

  • 3,000 Manjuhri statues and robes to the monks in Gaden? This is a lot and yes it is very meritorious! This is very generous idea by Rinpoche! I have always heard and read rave reviews about Tsem Rinpoche being generous. Well this is just one example of those!

  • 3000 monks offered 3000 robes, 3000 manjushri statues and much more offered by KH. Now thats meritorious. Can you imagine how long it would take to make 3000 sets of robes for all the monks n the monastery, the logistics of flying there with sooo many pilgrimees. I hope people can appreciate the sincerity of H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, such an offering is not cheap, neither is it easy to execute. Very very hats off to you All.

  • specialKforHumans : perhaps that is what explains why Kechara House is so successful in its endavours to bring Dharma to people...12 departments and counting!

  • I can't stop coming back to watch this video (and the other three)! I think it's so well-made - the lady's voice is so clear, the filming is really good, and it's very factual and concise. Seeing everyone coming together to prepare and make the offerings is so inspiring. The respect shown to Rinpoche by the monks is so touching. It's so so good to see that in the world we live in, there are still sanctuaries for the mind where the holiness in us can be developed.

  • I agree with you LcDaley, Kechara House really put in all they have in the growth of the Holy Dharma. I'll browse this video all the time to remind myself on the motivation in dharma have to be for something higher.

I rejoice for Kechara House for they work so hard for the sake of the growth of Dharma.

  • shoujian: if you like what they do why not join them in their quest? it would be so much more meaningful that way..

  • LcDaley: this video is so touching...especially when I see the living conditions of the monks in Gaden...to improve them is just absolutely incredible...

  • If we only take care of our own needs, how can we gain happiness? There is nothing in this world better than to see the smiles on others' faces.

  • Yes totally agree there's nothing better! Even the most horrible person has someone he/she loves enough that when they see them smile, they feel good! I think it was in one of the write-ups on tsemtulkuDOTcom that I read that Rinpoche taught it's because we all have an inherent Buddhanature. When we do a kind act for others without expectation for self-gain, it touches that nature. That's why we feel all warm and fuzzy inside - we touched our true happy compassionate selves.

  • yes its the debate video with the student to see the logic behind inherently good or bad. Even the most worst minded criminal has someone they love. Being bad, angersome, sneaky, vengeful is not natural. Not saying you have to be all lovey dovey, but we just aren't made to be unhappy all the time and have fleeting moments of happiness. Aren't these emotions a result of a cause / environment. It cannot be the resting state of mind can it?

  • specialKforHumans: yea but denying these emotions when they come out isnt natural either. there has to be a balance somewhere

  • cainrafael : you let the emotions come out and deal with them when they do...not supress them and pretended that they never arise....

  • LcDaley : it's a general fact that even the worst people in the world still needs love and they still have people who love them in some way or another therefore longeterm hate is not justifiable

  • cainrafael : because in reality you're not hating the person just what the person did...and that is impermanent
