Don't quote me on this, but I think he's referring to seventh chords in general. That is, a classic four note seventh chord (diatonic 1-3-5-7) has three inversions in addition to its root form, and you can work those over different string combinations. Probably the easiest way to go about that is making up some blank fretboard diagrams and filling out color-coded tones for the chords you're working on.
@babinm There are 24 possible permutations of 4 notes (4! four factorial, 4*3*2*1=24) That is what he means. So you take G major seventh, for example; voice those four notes (from bottom to top or vice versa; however you want to think of it) all over the guitar in all possible permutations (or voicings) on the neck. e.g. gbdf#, gbf#d, bdf#g, f#gbd, etc... until you get all possible voicings or permutations of those four notes (24 of them).
