  • What a beautiful song!

  • great were the ninety's 3 times in a row. Most successful country in eurovision history

  • She makes it seem so easy... AMAZING! <3

  • ah the 90s when ireland took the eurovision seriously

  • I love this song!! And yes live orchestra is much better in Eurovision!

  • Still sounds great even after 18-years!

  • The absolute best of the best - the ultimate!

  • My favorite Winner of the ESC in all the history!!! Love it!! :3

  • Her voice is magnificent, she does an excellent job returning it on stage but who designed this piece of shit she´s wearing? It´s hiddious!

  • her voice sounds very familiar...i don't know why.

  • @uzapuca because her voice is like to gloria estefan, too much! and years ago I heard this song only two times. and I fallen in love with it.thank you niamh.

  • @miapinneberg yes, it might sound a bit like gloria estefan, but Niamh register and voice range is way more beautiful than gloria. Cheers.

  • good song, wonderfully expressive voice

  • still dont know how this won - nothing special at all

  • My favourite Irish entry after It's For You! :D Lol

  • This is my favorite Irish Eurovision song

  • The most beautiful Irish eyes :)

  • azerbaijan sucks!

  • at the time this was the most modern stage setup eurovision had ever seen

  • @mmcytb no it wasnt - you speak rubbish

  • After all these years, I cannot understand if she was nervous or not! She's fab and her face shows happyness and quietness, but she didn't move her feet once!!!!

    FABULOUS NIAMH

  • @GongasC The best Diva's never have to move around much. They just stand and sing. Celine Dion hardly moved in 1988, the same as Marie Myriam in 1977 and Vicki Leandros in 1972. I think they are four of the best vocals ever heard in the contest.

  • 18 years on... too scary how time passes. I loved this song when I heard it as a 10yo.. a worthy winner and never forgotten :)

  • This song keeps being my favorite Eurosong of all times. The so-called in-between stuff was brilliantly composed, and the final cords were a true killer.

  • This deserved to win

  • She's now old and fat!

  • @yyttroll Time goes by...

  • should have won in 2010 too!!!!

    she is so amazing!

  • absolutely mind-blowing, stunning, beautiful!! Thank you, Niamh!

  • da shit now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • @MrBavarian9 f off

  • My name is Niamh XD and im irish!

  • this is incredible!!

  • Fabulous voice! Good song too.

  • i was named after her :D

  • masterpiece!

  • please tell me how any1 could dislike this song,????

  • the best eurovision winner ever.....but sonia would have been even better!!

  • very Gloria Estefan ......nice.

  • what a catchy song! Eurovision all over it, really well performed too with voice and the body language

I recon Niamh showing the bit of leg helped too ;)

  • Lovely.. but I still think Sonia should have won!

  • Niamh has a lovely voice but this song is weaker than most of this year's entries. the contest has changed completely since these days. for the better in my opinion.

  • i just dont understand how now eurovision lets eurotrash from azerbaijan or whatever get to the final round.

    great song

  • Mein Lied zu meiner Hochzeit

  • Mein Lied zu meiner Hochzeit

  • What a great song and Niamh has such a wonderful voice and range - beautiful.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful singer

  • Anybody else yearn for those days? JUst seemed a lot happier and simpler times. Not having to worry about things back then. God bless the 90s

  • @TheMuller91 You didn't know the songs, there wasn't three days of Eurovision. No 1 to 7 thrown on the board, with the winner known after 10 juries and having to stand through another 500 ones, it's the same with me, no more tension, no more "eurovision magic". You just know before.

  • @KischteBier totally agree, they need to go back to the way the voting used to be

  • Eurovision was way better back then. No political voting & the best songs won!

  • A classic ESC song, timeless. And the icing of the cake is the last 5 seconds of the song (the four chords progression at the end, from 3:56 to 4:01). That surely must be one of the most elegant wrap-ups of any ESC song to date. Simply brilliant.

  • She really does have beaitiful eyes.

  • ah niamh... ya musta been me first crush!

  • 6 disgusting asses.

  • this is why we never won this year out standing song and if i'm not mistaken i think Jonny Logan had a hand in it lol

  • One of the most magnificent performances of Eurovision history. Outstanding

  • I want live orchestra back to Eurovision Song Contest!!!!!!! It is magnificent!!!!

  • @minas1321 sorry mate, due to genre and technologies improvement cause live orchestra to be sacked out. If you think, if Eldar & Nigar's Running Scared is played by live orchestra is too crazy.

  • @minas1321 my father played in the orchestra that year ..on bass :)

  • she was so beautiful back in this year...and this song was so much better than 2010

  • best song to win eurovison ever and the only person who could sing this year she makes me proud to be irish

  • i am a very irish fan from greece i always love the eurovision irish songs and i think that ireland had to win for one more time again greetings from greece :):):):)

  • It's so sad Eurovision is not about good songs anymore, Ireland almost always sends great songs (especially this year). Anyone remembers Dana? So awesome...I love Ireland. XD

Niamh had 2 of the greatest songs in Eurovision history, that is cool. Who cares she didn't win?

  • this song is very good, but this year was her song much better, its only a big shame europe didn give her more points!!

  • Now THAT'S what I call a good song :) Just the music itself... oh, what happened to those good old days when Eurovision was about music, not politics, friendships, plastic decorations, fireworks or meaningless lyrics...

  • Wow! This is on the radio all the time at home.. I forgot this is where I first heard it, I remember the voting when I was just a little kid.. I was so excited! Eurovision lover for life!

  • She was pretty sexy in 1993, why does she eat so much now?

  • We can't afford to stage another Eurovision for a while.....how about 'My Lovely Horse' for Eurovision 2011?

  • shame they came 23rd this year i rekon she was really good

  • @Greek4u123

I don't agree, I liked this 1993 entry, one of the best in the history of Eurovision - but unfortunately this year's entry was just not good, she didn't sound good to me on stage, and the song just didn't have anything special to it.

Generally speaking, returning to Eurovision is really tricky - Ciara had success once (coming 2nd), but for the third time she completely flopped. Just like Fabrizio Faniello, Selma, and others, same thing happened to Niamh this year :/

  • @JustJack66 yeah fairenoughh buddy i agree with ya :)

  • amazing absolutely fantastic

  • Wot a fantastic eurovision song and winner :) absolutely love it

  • Wha is dis?

  • Im from Ireland and I was pissed off when she got through, I love more misery!

  • What a pretty smile and what a lovely singer. COME ON NIAMH!!! COME ON IRELAND!!!

  • Bring back the orchestra!!!!! Getting really sick of dull backing tracks!

  • What stereo-typical nonsense at the start of this video. Ireland wasnt like that in 1993.

  • Wow. Didn't realise how good this was, and she was, at the time. What a singer.

  • this woman is pure class come on niamh bring the title home to ireland

  • come on the niamh!!!!!

  • YAY niamh! you have done it again!

  • She is back in the final. With a song that sounds a little too similar. Her voice is grown even much better than her last win in 93. Good Luck in Oslo, Niamh Kavanagh! :-)

  • She is back in the final. With a song that sounds a little too similar. Her voice is grown even much better than her last win in 93. Good Luck in Oslo, Niamh Kavanagh! :-)

  • Incluso es más bonita la cancion que lleva a Eurovision 2010. Me gusta más que esta. Y ademas tiene una super voz

  • she doesnt have the voice anymore for the high notes which is a shame the song we are going with this year needs that

  • It is so good to see Niamh again in the Eurovision. She should have been HUGE after this roof raising performance. Go girl good luck

  • I´ve seen ALL finales, but i don´t remember this song. Strange...

    She sounds like Gloria Estefan.

  • Hard not to get chills listening to this. A beautiful song and outstanding performance full of genuine heart/emotion. I wish the contest would get back to basics - where it was about the song, not the gimmicks and politics. And rather than pre-recorded backing tracks, bring back the live orchestras. It really brought an amazing dynamic to the contest, instead of the too slick too perfect pre-recorded backing tracks.

  • Great singer. Full of soul and heart.

Her Eurovision song this year is my favourite song, because it relly touches my heart - not as so many eastern european blonde beauties

    12 points from germany!

  • Nice.

  • jesus they paint a great picture of ireland hahaha, then again often told a yank i can to work in the donkey and cart and we had no electicity in the house for some extra tips i was saving to go america apparently haha

  • Sonia was robbed!

  • Yea and tbh Ireland had Complete Dominance over Eurovision for years in this era. Luckily the winning count has stuck but hopefully this will bring it back home even though ireland and eurovision dont want ireland to win because really we dont have enough money to host it and eurovision is sick of small countries winning just like fifa those assholes

  • @Frankenstuey douchebag

  • The more i listen to her song for this years contest the more i love it...all they need to get right is the staging of the song, set the atmosphere of the song and she needs to look great on the night (which she will). There's so many components to winning!! it's never just the song! come on niamh you can do this!!

  • I honestly believe her song this year is better than this was. Her voice has greatly improved too. Even if the UK struggles this year, I'll be right behind Ireland.

  • The UK? Oh my God I think they will struggle to make the finale, that song is so bad, and the poor boy can't sing! No offense. :)

  • the uk is already in the final

  • aww that was nice

  • beautiful song

  • I think this is Ireland's best deserved victory, well i like this and Linda Martin most =). This is a lovely song, one of my faves from eurovision ever

  • I love this, truly the right winner, Niamh is a great singer =)

  • Wow, the new song is even better than this one and her voice sounds so much more controlled and experienced now.

Can Ireland win it for an 8th time?

  • This song is great! But the new song that she's singing for Ireland in 2010 is terrible! And she's (unfortunately) lost her voice. Come on Ireland, you can't honestly think that bringing back singers that won for you 2 decades ago can do it again? She won't even qualify for the main show. *Sigh*

  • i am greek and i love this song!!!

  • still is great song and her new song for eurovision excellent, watch out europe

  • come on Niamh bring eurovision back to Ireland d heart of decent meaningful ballads!love dis song it def deserved to win!us Irish av won eurovision 7 times we clearly must av done something right hehe hopefully we can do it again!

  • @mesh5very absolutely fantastic this is my favourite song in the world

  • @mesh5very too bad you didin't win the esc your song was very strong and the only i liked along with belgium for me ireland is the winner for this esc i love very much the irish songs and i know that if you send again johny logan linda martin or niamn kavagh again you will win i always support the irish songs and i vote for them greetings from greece :D(i didin't like our song at all bliax)

  • @harris5413 Hi are you from Greece? Well I did like ur song, I thought it was cool, like everything from Greece. Honest, I went on holiday there a while ago, and it was the best I've ever had!!

  • @mesh5very Don't hold this terrible competition as some of Ireland's greatest achievements, because it counts for nothing for any nation! Individuals sing, the country they live in has little to do with their talent, and their talent is not representative of their home nation.

  • @mesh5very with your representative being jedward??? just w8 till 2012 because you might have a shot...

  • @mesh5very u have won eurovision the most. lol. :)

  • After seeing her beautiful face back in the nineties and now in 2010 I gotta recommend her a diet with no fish & chips :D

  • And also her voice changed, It sounds less pitchy deeper and serene which really suits the 2010 song ... now I can say after 17 years that I like Niamh :)

  • ye i think its a powerful song but europeans are lookin for dance music these days

  • Niamh in back in eurovision this year representing Ireland

  • Do ye guys think Ireland will select her?I think they will because the competition isnt great this year. Her competitors are # Does Heaven Need Much More? - Leanne Moore

(Written by Tommy Moran & John Waters)

    # River Of Silence - Lee Bradshaw

(Music: Ralph Siegel, Lyrics: John O'Flynn & Jose Santana)

    # Baby, Nothing's Wrong - Michael Graham

(Written by Michael Graham, Scott Newman & Yann O'Brien)

    # Fashion Queen - Monika Ivkic

(Written by Marc Paelinck & Mathias Strasser)Her song is Its For You

  • go on niamh

bring it back to ireland ,we need a lift cos our politicians have made a mess of everything

    sing us back to prosperity

  • What a voice...

  • go on Niamh you one it for us once get tru again and bring eurovision home to Ireland where it belongs !

  • stunning song, beautiful

  • lovin this song, she sung it so good :0) defo the best won that year :) hope she get in 2010 !! come on ireland

  • God - I muust be watching and listening to a different version. Her voice is crystal clear!!! So you will not be happy with Niamh for Ireland in 2010... personally.. I cant wait

  • That will only depend on the quality of her song ... I never said she's a bad singer she just sounded awful back in 1993 despite the similar tone of voice with Gloria Estefa which was funny. My biggest drawback from 1993 was just her song, For me it was not and never will be the deserving winnig song that year.

  • I think she is a nice girl but this song sucks she said it herself - they thought it wouldnt win.

Its really dull & totally forgettable

  • Well if Niamh didn't like this one then it means I wasn't wrong for not finding this song any good ... 1993 was a very weird year - from all 4 irish wins this one in my opinion was the weirdste one ever.

  • Niamh never said she disliked this song and it was the best of the year by a long shot.

    ..

my god Jealous eurofans will say ANYTHING to try and diss previous winners.

  • READ my words! I said SHE SAID - THEY THOUGHT THEY WOULDNT WIN! Which is fact

  • I am ... she definitively will represent Ireland this year with a sooooooo much better song that this piece of s.... oh well whatever.

  • Niamh is hoping to enter Eurovision again this year!!!!!! Hope she does.

  • weird maybe but she kinda reminds me of gloria estefan?!....

  • LOL me too

  • Its now 2010 and I have this song on my ipod..love it!!

  • she has entered a song for 2010 eurovision :) im very excited about it

  • Are you sure?! How do you know? :D

  • A great song & a great singer.Bring back the days when the best song won and there was no political voting.

  • @Keith0020 Well It's great but I think Norway was best. Can't beat that beautiful Norwegian melody and Greek touch to it.

  • I love the song. One of my favorites in the ESC & one of the best songs in the contest.

  • I totaly love her voice and her image.

She should represent Ireland again in Olso, maybe with a song by Johnny Logan or an amazing ballad.

She could win, She has better vocals than alot of very famous singers..

  • I agree ! : )

Her voice is flawless at all times !

She has a great vocal range !

She was amazing & a great winner ♥

  • @Referral123 Good news :) she has entered a song this year :)

  • !!_!!

    WHAT

No way this is TOO GOOD!

  • This lady has one of the strongest voices I have ever heard, she could probably sing opera's. Loved the performance.

  • Oh and I have been in Belgrade in 2008 when Eurovision was held in Serbia :D , it was fantastic. You guys send an interesting song that year, but I think that this kind of songs suits you best at festivals or riverdance ;)

  • Fantastic singer & voice

  • She deserved to win that year. All who say she did not deserve it are just people with some complex. Anyway great job Ireland , 12 points from Serbia.

  • See you cunto she also sang most of the female vocals for the commitments album we Irish are not all dipsos. Most wins in eurovision history ye derogortary cunt

  • Is that right about her singing the lioness' share of the Commitments? I've liked this song since 1994 and knew that Niamh had carved a successful singing career (didn't she work in a bank before?) but didn't know about the Commitments thing. I'll have to have another listen or dig the DVD out again...

  • You are a stupid bigoted piece of scum .

  • @carldavies31 You don't have to be Irish to have a problem with alcohol.... alcoholism affects all people in all nations in all walks of life... don't believe everything you see on hollywood if you don't want to be deceived.

  • Amazing powerful voice, especially for someone who was an amateur. But I think the "extra" that helped her win was her smile :-)

  • love this song, i am not a fan of the eurovision, but this song really puts me in a good mood :-)

  • Viva Irlanda fantastik douze points

  • 1993 was the year that Ireland won!

  • I agree that the lyrics are great, but she sings 'I made myself an island' :)

  • Remarkable! She needs no show to win, she has her voice AND her song! A lovely one!

  • This was the only year that my favourite actually won.
