  • This idiot is a clown

  • its amazing that libertarians simultaneously complain about a lack in regulation over corporations when something goes wrong, while complaining about any possible increase in regulations over corporations. waste time thinking in circles much?

  • @smokydave there's just one problem with that statement. libertarians don't complain about a lack of regulations when something goes wrong. we complain about excessive regulations when something goes wrong.

  • @Leofus1986 so the libertarian response to the BP oil spill was to complain about excessive regulations? Missed that one, I only heard rand paul saing 'mistakes happen', and the rest of rhetoric was about small government and how it's the government's fault that BP was violating so many standards. Which to me is kinda like blaming the cops because someone ran over 50 people on their way to work in the morning while saying 'accidents happen'.

  • @smokydave saying mistakes happen is not the same as saying there is a lack of regulation. on the contrary, his point was that no amount of regulation will ensure a mistake will never happen. nobody said that the government caused the spill either.

  • I learn my ass off everyday so I can one day have the knowledge of Ron Paul and the Judge so I can pass my knowledge off to others like the Judge and Paul do for us

  • I don't understand how so many dingbats came to power. Don't most of us Americans have common sense? If so, why are our representatives in Congress so clueless and irrational?

  • @MishuTaste as mark twain said, common sense isnt so common....

  • Love the way so many great arguments were made that are unbeatable if you have any common sense!

    Love it!!

  • I've lived in Michigan a short time. Its a beautiful there, I don't blame him for living there. I bet you are the type of person who tells people to leave or go back where they came from when those people complain huh? Yet you can complain all day about whatever and its okay. You don't have to go anywhere or you do not have to be the one who have to leave. Hmmm. I think what you dont' understand is that Americans can have different views and beliefs without having to want to go away.

  • Unfortunately I cannot afford to sell my house right now and move because I couldn't get what I paid for it. Besides, why should I leave to make you happy. I'll stick around and put you on a reservation one day while I make this country into what I think it should be. Not so funny huh? We can talk, debate, and share information about our views but if you are going to dish it out, better be able to take it as well.

  • If there be anyone who can make a sound argument contradicting what this man says, do so. If not, contact your senators and representative and demand that they break down interstate barriers. If all who believe in the cause of liberty act, there is no way they can stop us.

  • Give this man the PRESIDENCY!

  • smart man

  • Why can't this man be in the Supreme Court

  • elitebanktyranny, excellent point and i agree. I love your user name, btw. Clever and true too.

  • Napolitano is always on point.

  • For people who speak of freedom of choice, freedom of capitalism, and the free market sure like to stomp on people's right to freedom of speech. Look at how many people go out of their way to make my posts here go away. If the people who stand by their beliefs have to infringe on the rights of others to express their views, then I'd call them the Un-Americans. I block or erase nobody's post unless it is racial, threatening, or profanity.

  • Your freedom of speech is not something I or any other citizen has to recognize or support. The only entitity that has to respect your freedom of speech is the government itself which is why the first amendment starts by saying "congress shall pass no law..."

  • Sad. Just plain sad. Wrong topic, wrong place, wrong time, and just plain wrong.

  • He is correct. One of the flaws in articles of confederation was that each govt could create separate trade policies which hindered trade so they created the constition to fix that. Now what other part in the constitution creates free trade between the states? It must be the regulated commerce clause that creates that because there is nothing else in the constitution that refers to that.

  • Well said! Get the government out of everything not listed in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution! The problem with the healthcare and health insurance industry is that the government is involved.

  • youtube.c0m/watch?v=ebqdwQzmSHM

    youtube.c0m/watch?v=k4L6-0WRfSA

    Watch these videos about Norway.

  • It is obvious that none of the people on this site know the true realities of what really goes on in Hospitals or what happens to the sick and poor in this country. The sick regardless of insurance or no insurance will get treated. We are all fooling ourselves to think that socialized medicine does not exist already. We are just blind to the fact that its funded by our high insurance costs and deductibles. Get rid of the middle man and put it all into medicare.

  • Don't worry, you rich people can still get a private room and your choice of world class specialists. And don't worry, you upper middle class will still wind up in a hospital room with a inner city drug dealer with gunshot wounds waiting for your kidney stone operation. It will not change for the worst or better. You just save money by not paying insurance companies, thats all.

  • When has the government ever put out a program that didn't include multiple "middle man" groups or organizations? There are over 65 federal organizations which sole purpose are to facilitate medicaid. This doesn't not include private contractors and government sponsored organizations.

It seems like you are misunderstanding that the solution to the problem that you propose is the immediate cause of said problem.

  • So, should we get rid of libraries because we have Barnes and Nobles? Should we get rid of play grounds because we have Six Flags? Should we get rid of Parks and Swimming Pools because we have Holiday Spa? No arguments in protecting state and federal parks so you can do hunting and fishing but arguments when it comes to providing health care is some backwards ass group of people. I say buy your own private land to hunt and fish and use tax money to provide medicare for all.

  • I thought we were talking about health care. Stop trying to pull a "Pelosi" and switch subjects.

But to answer your questions: 87% of libraries are state funded. I'm not sure of the percentage of parks or swimming pools that are federally funded but I would bet over 90% of them are funded through the state. Your now moving into state funded entities, not federal funded ones. Same goes for law enforcement and fire fighters(which are 67% volunteer nationally)

  • Land already exist while health care does not. In order to give people free health care you have to create it which requires the congress to pass a law. Land, on the other hand, already exist and you have the natural right to use that land as long as it is not already owned by another person.

  • I don't think you understand how simplistically you stated our problem. I'm just gonna message you cause these text boxes piss me off

  • campaign4liberty4life

  • It has to be hard to agree with ideas like this after the education people receive. In my college US Gov't class, we are taught that the government has all these powers and that they are right to have them because it keeps us safe. I'm not 100% liberty-minded yet, so I can't argue against the points being made. I can't help wonder, however, what the people who know nothing about Ron Paul and the Liberty Movement are going to do. I suppose they'll be blind like the rest of the sheep.

  • @smallmaniac Remember, everything governments do is 100% correct! :S

  • In order to pass the tests, that is what I have to say.

  • Your ability to do something unhindered by the government is protected by limited government due to the fact it can't pass any law willy-nilly.

  • There's one important point being largely ignored here: Who decides what constitutes "healthcare"?

What if Jenny McCarthy successfully injected her beliefs into government healthcare policy, (or vice versa - would you anti-vax nutballs want me deciding what constitutes valid medical treatment for you)?

How many crystal-gripping Democrats think justified "preventative healthcare" is having their chakras realigned on a weekly basis by some hippie in tie-dye?

Do you want to pay for that?

  • Definitely a different slant that I never realized. I am all for keeping things as free choice as possible, but I wonder with all the insurance scams we have now if it would be a good idea to get health insurance from the east coast when I live in the west, or india like the guy below says.

  • It might be a good idea, It might not be. The point is more that you should be able to have the option. If you live in California and the best insurance option is there, then by all means use it. If its in Wyoming, or Kentucky, or India you should have the option to use that. But currently, if you live in Ca and its full of crappy options you dont have the ability to go elsewhere. Freedom means being free to make bad decisions as well as good ones.

  • good point.

  • The Judge is a beacon of light in this whole mess. He is an expert on the Constitution. I love hearing his interpretation of it.

  • Napolitano. Simple. To the point. Best vid of this series.

  • You should be able to buy health insurance from ANYWHERE that sells it! you should be able to buy it from india, from china, from hong kong or canada! free trade is the key to a healthy, happy, free, and peaceful world.

  • Ever notice Glockninja's complaints are about things that are all caused by government, but then he says we need more government to fix it? For example, his comment about us being able to feed the world until the end of the world, but instead farmers are paid not to grow food. Who's paying the farmers? GOVERNMENT!!!

  • Actually I have noticed that about Glockninja, lol. I was having a similar exchange with him on the Rand Paul video where he was demonizing all insurance and blaming it on greedy corporations.

  • If this guy would teach Con Law somewhere I would go to law school. He makes it understandable

  • no reason napolitano couldn't easily win a presidential election. go for it.

  • Sure there are reasons he can't win. He's not that photogenic, not tall... he has principles and wouldn't be bought and paid for by various special interests. That's a huge impediment to being elected!

  • Isn't ironic that we're allowed to buy & transport cigarettes out of state but we can't do the same thing with life insurance? I truly believe tort reform alone can fix this problem, but they don't want to hear it!

And then of course is the upcoming matter of fixing the salaries of bank executives, to begin with, I suppose. Where will it all end?

  • hiya hope' ...

  • hiya bebop'.... I'm sleepless in Chicago. Nothing makes sense anymore. LOL

  • living in the UK keeps me alive .

  • We need to draft Andrew Napolitano for President if Ron Paul does not run!

  • We are fighting 2 unconstitutional wars on borrowed money from China. Now they want to cram the "Public Option" down our throats as the Federal Reserve continues to print money into Hyper-Inflation. The Obama Zombies and Neo-cons won't get it until they have to pull out a gun and defend their families and food supply from hungry strangers . Because of the riots caused by devalued currency and all the dollar will be good for is wiping your ass with.

  • Big time.

  • Paul/Napolitano 2012!

  • i agree animateclay

  • I remember in high school debate, our topic was federal education policy.

I always went on the contention that the federal govt had no right to dictate education policy due to the restrictions in the 10th amendment.

I was ALWAYS told the commerce clause negates the 10th. Debate judges are adorable.

  • It keeps health care prices high so that they can force us to adapt public health or just be fined and or taxed. Wait, That Bill does harm to my health because i cant shop to buy a cheaper plan, What can i do about it! Who do i call?

  • At the current rate Medicare won't be around much longer. So what makes you think universal health care is viable?

  • ok that good, but why should other people be forced to pay for something that they don't want to. There should be optional taxation.

  • And where exactly do you think the money is coming from to pay for Medicare and any other future health care from the government?

  • Yeah, because the government has consistently shown it's ability to run everything efficiently and with higher quality. Oh wait, they've never done that.

    Reform? Sure. Take over? Never.

  • If you think the insurance companies rape you wait until we have a single payer government run system. That is a monopoly and always screws the consumer. But it will be back door rape as most of the costs will be hidden with money printing and taxation.

  • How about we get rid of insurance agencies and pay directly to the doctors that serve us?

  • When the government steals it out of your pockets at gunpoint it's ok. You just can't have people making their own decisions willy nilly, obviously they would make the wrong choices for themselves. We have to have more government control to prevent this.

  • some people are just really really dumb and have accepted the idea that government knows best. thank u dept of education and the media for dumbing down the people. great job!

  • So u want MY taxes to pay for YOUR medical bills? You know that Medicare is goin bankrupt right? dumbed down people in America that want the government to take care of them from cradle to grave. You're mentally retarded and delusional

  • nice job in picking up the word delusional. look check out this video link and it explains in simple detail why health costs are so high.

    watch?v=Nt0tKl0J-S4

  • Medicare isn't going to be around by the time I get to an age where I will qualify for it. Neither will social security, and I'm less than 30 years away from that. Empire America is coming down, and with it all this nanny state nonsense.

  • Sorry I meant to agree with you and hit the thumbs down instead of up.

  • No problem.

  • There is no system that will fully cover everyone no matter how old or sick. It is not feasable with current resources, no matter how they are allocated.

  • huh? Are you talking about the same country that have OVER a dozen little things called Air Craft Careers that take up a budget of a small city to run, not to mention the many other billions and trillions of dollars worth of military ships and equipment? Are you talking about a country that can essentially feed the entire world until the end of the world? Are you talking about a country that pays farmers not to farm because it can feed the world and make food prices cheaper than air? Are you?

  • Because its obvious you have no idea who rich this country its. The only reason we cry about lack of money and going into debt is because of poor mismanagement and corruption. Trust me. If we acted based on our morals not our special interests,,,,we can all live high on the hog with minimum effort.

  • GlockNinja - Actually, you will find, when we all act according to our own interests, the standard of living soars. Incentive overrides all *feel good* *public good* options. Every time.

  • And you make a good argument why the government should not be entrusted with our healthcare....CORRUPTION!!! MISMANAGEMENT!!! and you think they'll do better with the millions they'll collect from us as a result of passing this bill?????

  • you assume a country is rich when it has a lot of toys borrowed from the chinese?

    (i.e. military equipment)

  • This GlockNinja must be totally ignorant or a Keynesian text book reader.

  • I do think we would have a lot better health care if we allocated more money towards domestic issues instead of military ones. I would prefer it. We spend an excessive amount on our military.

The point I was getting at is that we don't have the resources now and won't in the short term. Although It can be made better. Such as by increasing school capacities and eliminating wait lists for nurses.

  • Wrong. It is easy for people who are not in the military or people in harms way to say that the military gets too much funding. If I or my son were in the military, I would want nothing but the best military equipment and technology. My life and the soldier who protects my life is very very important. That is why I hate people who cut budgets on Police Departments and then cry later when crime goes out of control and their houses are worth nothing on the market.

  • GlockNinja - Oy. To all of the above comments. Re: paying farmers not to farm? Why would I support that? It's an FDR program. (slaughtering pigs, burning crops) It sucks. Return to the free market.

  • that's just wrong. I happen to live in such a system.

  • Why ever pay into any "system"? Why not simply save our money, set it aside and pay for our bills ourselves? Insurance and government health care always cost more do to more middle men. If it is a relationship between you and your doctor it would be much cheaper. I know you agree with this premise.

  • That is the premise of this posting. That we would all be able to afford medical treatment if it were left up to free market competition. Nobody can afford an operation unless they are rich. Nope. I believe in federal run medicare system for all citizens not just the elderly. If we all paid our premiums plus a 5 percent federal sales tax, we can fund such system.

  • BTW, I have no job and my live in girl friend is a nurse at a county jail. So, I have understanding of what it is like to not be able to afford health care and what it is to be afforded heath care. The health care at our jails are only as good as those who serve it as with any job I.e. food service, retail telemarketing..... To think that a government organization can regulate the a humans ability to serve another is preposterous.

  • Who said the government is going to provide any services at all? The government is not going to take your temperature. That is your doctor's job. The government is only going to reimburse you for that service like the insurance company. Its just medicare but for the rest of us. Medicare works great. Ask somebody who is on it. Then ask them if they can afford HMO or Blue Cross and Blue Shields. Only handful can say they can.

  • Ask Blue Cross and Blue Shield if they will insure a 70 year old man with prostate issues. Ask them. Do you think that Blue Cross will consider that the 70 year old man has been a loyal and faithful customer for 65 some years and that he lived a healthy life until he reached his elderly years? Do you think that they will find the best doctor or care for him and cover him because he has been such a great customer? Say yes and I will support the current system.

  • Oh and give him a discount because he has been such a loyal customer.

  • It definately does such when another individual doesn't want to part with something in order to give to you but we retain that right because if you didn't then I should be able to walk into your house and start taking.

  • How is anybody taking something from you when you are paying for the same thing everybody else is paying for. You want the freedom to not pay taxes? NOT going to happen buddy. You want the freedom to not have health care? Then don't go to a hospital when you get injured or sick. You want to come in my house and take things? That's is your choice to make as well. But I doubt you would because hopefully you know what is right and what is wrong, not just what freedom to chose means.

  • Why does anyone have the right to take a portion of what you produce?

  • I want the freedom to not have health care which is why I oppose this deathboard legislation you guys are trying to pass but the freedom I'm talking about is the right to make a choice over my own health care. I also reserve the right not to pay taxes and demand my government tax me at an acceptable rate instead of these excessive rates we have now.
