The band "Tweaker" did the theme song. Chris Vrenna and Clint Walsh.

Chris was one of the founding members of Nine Inch Nails, but Nine Inch Nails didn't do the Doom 3 theme.

The Wikipedia page for the band talks about this and even mentions the misattribution of the theme song to Tool due to the similar sound etc. ;)

Just to tell you guys, Rage, a game in development by the guys who make doom is coming out 11 september 2011. At E3 2010 the developers of doom 4 were going to give a demo of doom 4 but it wasn't showed but they had this to say " its in development and its awesome! Its already in the pipeline and won't take as long to ship as rage and its 10x better! " this gives that doom 4 will be shipped in summer 2011.So it will be released before rage! also its not going like doom 3 also its set on earth :)

This is the first game that made me fall out of my chair! It's so jumpy! Sure I'd played Silent Hill and Resident Evil which creeped me out but this shit is so hard to play without getting scared shitless! Also I was born after the original doom came out, I remember playing it when I was 4 and it scared me aha. It doesn't anymore of course.
