  • @srw9 Conan is 6'4 Russell is 5'9

  • aw, hes so adorable, and the top comments are only for true fans ;)

  • why did he change it to trash cans?? Its so much better with wheelie bins

  • @RachelBerryGoldStar I don't think many people would have gotten the reference here in the US. We have never called trash cans that ; ) Though I like to say wheelie bins way more than trash can!

  • Aww, he got asked to come back :')

Glad to know our comedians are the best

  • this is all on his 2011 right here right now vid!! ahahahahaha he just repeats this exactly!!

  • I can't believe I missed this! Thank you so much for posting it.

  • I'd keep my cakes in Russ's trash can. Hrrrrrrrr!

  • I said avada-cadabra once, didnt go to well...

  • @locomotiveAlex1996 lmfao hehehhehehheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

  • he's so tiny next to Conan.

  • Ooh, nicely done translating some of the words into typical American terms, Russell!

  • Am I magic yet!!!!!!!!!

  • he's good...we love 'em!

  • opki is conan tall or russell small :S

  • lol just before he says it's his first time in LA someone actually says hello bk are poor guy got blanked :P

  • wow i did not expect that presenter to be so fucking huge when he got up to shake russels hand O.O

  • I LIVE IN TURKEY COME TO TURKEY YOU BUM

    RUSSELL <3

  • so glad he kept some of his old material bits and weaved it into something amazing :D

  • people who think Americans don't understand russell howard in this video are wrong. the audience seem to be laughing histerically!

  • Actually I am from England why do Americans think we have a major english accent when we dont?

  • Russel looks tiny! :p

  • I love British humor. And yes, I am American.

I think the only major issues they have is the word conversions, like most Americans have no clue what a wheelie bin is, or other things like that. I get the jokes but then again I have an obsession with England so I know the proper terms.

Did anyone else notice he doesn't have as much of an accent here? I'm pretty sure he's doing it on purpose, though.

  • Amazing !!!!

  • Aw, I just realized that other Americans won't know what wheelie bins are. :(

  • Those two people who disliked this must of been disappointed when they found out that shoving marbles at their bum, didn't make them magic.

  • Considering how I normally see British comics being received by American audiences, Russell did quite well.

  • way too dirty

  • @dannvey

    hahahahahhaah. ur joking right.

  • @dannvey Too dirty? Get the fuck outta here

  • @dannvey HA! this is his clean comedy

  • am I the only one wondering why it was only five points?

  • conans 6'4

    russells 5'10

  • im sort of proud of him

  • He is much funnier on his own show, because he gets to use pictures and videos

  • he looks so tanned

  • One person has no sense of humour

  • @immybob09 pmsl :D

  • Russell is so short compared to that presenter guy! xD

  • @MissieKizzie2

Conan O'brien is a pretty tall guy.

  • Oh Russell, why did you have to go and lift the homosexual bit from Dylan Moran?

  • Exspelliarmus LOL! What kind of weirdo would say that during sex? O_o

  • @DisneyGirl4Ever98 his mate's boyfriend lol

  • Just seen him in glasgow yesterday Fucking Laugh :)

  • He's so obivously tense & uncomfortable =/

(Before anyone starts to inform me or whine[I know where you live =_= ] I'm a huuuge Russell Howard fan so I know he's not usually this stiff)

  • Hilarious! I think America would receive his comedy well

  • I love him so much he is one of my comedy GODS!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • He looks so adorable and small and uncomfortable at the end. Like Conan is one of the ninja-gays and he's expecting a surprise bumming any minute.

  • I can't remember The Catcher in the Rye!!!!

  • Oh my god he's so small!

  • i love how he sort of salutes when he comes on stage or steps up to a mic.

  • Russell Howard would get it.

  • lolz

    "I LIKE TO GO WEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

  • "Five points to Gryffindor!"

    Only five points?

  • Aww it sucks because alot of his joke were of British news, and Americans don't really check out the British news.

  • ... Maslowe's Hierarchy of Needs.

Is it bad that I knew what that is?

  • awwww.... i love Russell..... hes just so awkwardly adorable!!!! :D :D <3

  • T_T I can't believe I missed the Adorkable King of Comedy ob Conan!!! T_T

  • I can't believe he was on US TV! And I can't believe this wasn't more censored. US talk shows seem really sensitive about any type of 'sassy' language, even the primetime ones

  • lol cona is tall and russell is small they look odd standing next to each other xD

  • @foxyspirits The funny thing is that Russell is six feat tall. In "Russell Howard's Good News," he bumped back into a police measuring tape for mugshots at the 6' mark, while being slightly hunched. Puts into perspective how tall Conan is

  • I felt so nervous for Russell...:') he's as brilliant as always though!

  • Aww! Our Russell in the states :') I feel like a proud mum. Obviously, without the magic vagina (Long-time Howard fans should get that reference :p).

  • @AllTimeJedLife

You just copied that from the other video you fucking faggot.

  • @AllTimeJedLife LOL! dingledodies tour, the bit about Wembley stadium! :D

  • @AllTimeJedLife Dingledodies lol

  • he must've been fucking nervous for this gig!

  • The difference in their sizes makes them look like a badly photoshopped picture, lol.

  • lol he made russel loom like a midget lol

  • @irategoblin AGREED

  • I'm an American, and while I freely admit to having to use Wikipedia occasionally to get a reference a British comic might use, I really enjoy British stand-up. It's not so inherently different from "good ol' fashioned" American comedy that it's completely foreign or anything. It disappoints me that talented comics like Russell Horward and Frankie Boyle don't head stateside more often... at least, I don't hear about them. I'd be at those shows. :-(

  • @RetroYoungen I think it's due more to Frankies inability to NOT shock the shit out of the USA that he doesn't head there much. That man's theory on 9/11 would get him arrested. Twice.

  • @Interwebzicast *sigh* I know, and it's truly a shame... Boyle is a great stand-up. And borderline insane. But more funny than crazy, and will never be over here like he is across the pond. Same with guys like Ed Byrne. It's just a cryin' shame.

  • I don't appreciate you guys saying Americans don't get British humor. I'm American and Russell is one of my favorite comedians.

  • American's find most types of comedy offensive thats why they will never get British comedy, we've been around a long time and don't mind taking the piss out of ourselves, give the American's a couple hundred years.

  • @Stev6000 untrue. I'm a Brit living in America and find a lot of their comedy is very much about taking the pee out of the American way of life. In fact they are so comfortable with it they even let foreign comedians take the pee out of them too. Just take a look at a lot of Eddie Izzard's stuff in the states, he pretty much slams Americans the whole time.

  • @awfycooper but Eddie Izzard's is weird and can be excused.

  • @Stev6000 Aside from the positive response RH (and Gervais, Izzard, Fry, Jim Jeffries) is getting over here and the numerous American fans of British comedy, there's another flaw in your generalization. Unlike the UK and Australia, the US has much looser libel laws. In other words, you can say almost anything you want about any public figure. This means US comedy is often more personal and potentially offensive. Frankie Boyle would do quite well, but wouldn't be especially shocking.

  • @Stev6000 But im American and I LOOOOOVE Russell Howard. Hes hilarious, but its only because I understand what hes talking about

  • @Stev6000 Way to stereotype there. I'm American, and I love many different examples of British comedy. Also, it seems from this video the audience enjoyed his standup. Don't really think you made a good or relevant point.

  • @satch234 what you think of bill bailey though hes got a big fan base over here and i saw a vid of him live in usa and only some people found him funny not sure why hes hilarious lol

  • @Stev6000 Ugh... Dude... That's just such an unresearched statement.

  • @Stev6000 I beg to differ. For one thing, American comedians also take the piss out of America, and secondly, I know plenty of Americans that enjoy British comedy, myself included.

  • CURSE. YOU. ENYA!

  • Americans just dont get British humor D:

  • @gerardwhytelads

I'm american and I prefer it to American humor.

  • I played the frog on a log game...

  • Russell was on Conan. Good for Russell.

  • It's a bit gutting how America doesn't get British humor D;

  • Until now I allways have taught that he was tall, but in the end when he stand next to the host, he looked like a dwarf :D

  • @pakalins666 lol well Conan is 6 something so it's not like Russell's that short

  • Hes done the gay dude on a plane SO much, but I still love it!

  • 3:47 what makes you happy?! i dunno, i quite like doin this.. aaaaaaaahh! :)

  • RUSSELL! :D

  • wow he's terrible WTF.

He's the funniest guy alive, i watched him live and i've never laughed so much in my life <3333

  • Wow, he's terrible.

  • ohh my god he is sooo ORANGE!!!

  • he's really funny

  • Comment removed

  • wow when he said hello he sounded like wheatly from portal 2 :D

  • @shadow55981 Well that makes sense as Russell Howard and Stephen Merchant are both from Bristol ;)

  • lovely tan XD

  • Damn, our little boy grew up :)

    And lost weight...

He is a fine fine man :)

  • I really like Russell Howard, but it's definitly not American humour! It's all nervous laughing from the crowd as if to say, "I think thats funny? But I cant understand him?".

  • I love Russell & he makes me proud to be British!:Dx

  • Ahhh!! HOW did i not know that Russell Howard was on Conan?! As an American who LOVES him, I'd be soo happy to see him do well over here. He's absolutely hilarious. :)

  • u laugh now but u dont no how popular he is in britain <3 go on russ!!

  • Does anyone else think he looks like the guy from Tron?

  • Play it a bit safe?? He came straight out (if you pardon the pun!) with material on homosexuality and then shagging - hardly safe! I stopped watching half way through as I was a bit embarrassed to be honest. One of our top comics making a US tv debut and he relies on gay and sex jokes - he's got much better material which is more observant and funnier. I love Russell Howard but I think he could have been a bit more 'intelligent' than that.

  • @JCRocksteady I agree with you for the most part but you've got to remember a lot of his material comes from current topics, mainly in Britain. We love that kind of humour. The Americans taste of comedy is different so he was more likely playing a card that would work and when hes not standing up on American national TV he can experiment more so with topics relevant to them.

  • @JCRocksteady Agreed.

  • not his best but he looks so nervous at the end, can understand he would want to play it a bit safe but he looks adorable, good job lad.

  • that was weak

  • I love him :L

  • Russell is funny, but for a US debut he sure didn't use very strong material.

  • @VoyagerAbove you suck!!! you have a bad sense of humor!!!

    you want strong material...

    VoyagerAbove sucks gay balls...

  • @wetpakudels and ur an idiot

  • I do think he should have come to the East Coast for his American début... New York is amazing in the fall!

  • He looked a bit nervous to me.. still awesome, though!

  • Beware American, Russell Howard is coming!

  • Finally we get some of the comedy you Brits have been keeping for yourselves!! ;)

I loved seeing him on my tv screen rather then on the computer screen! Thank you very much Conan!!:)

  • @jennie8908 No, he's ours. Keep your hands off :p

  • @MrCakerape Haha I will have to move there then I guess!

  • @jennie8908 me too! I'm american and I'm very jealous of British entertainment. you guys have better movies, television and comedy. I just seemed to enjoy more than stuff from the states :D

  • i luv the way he sed "HELLOOO" hes so funny my fave comidian

  • Has he gotten the LA treatment already? Why is he so taaan? And thin? And what happened to his teeth? And his hair?

'Ere mate, don't go all Hollywood on us.

  • @thecortni That's what I was thinking! The teeth were what freaked me out the most. I miss his old teeth, if that isn't too weird to say. He's still hilarious though, no matter what he looks like.

  • @Jennabella112 I know what you mean...

    We still love you, Russ!

  • haha did Russell get highlights? I bet America will love him aswell - he's funny in that awkward way the americans love:p

  • Jesus christ how tall is conan?!

  • @stueymon I think it's how tiny Russell Howard is! I met him once and he's so small! I was 5"9/10 at the time and he was a good few inches shorter than me!

  • @stueymon Not very. Russell howard isn't that tall either.

  • @stueymon Conan is about 6'6". He often seems even taller b/c he is quite thin and has the Conan-quiff. I wonder if things like that are why Dara O Briain is usually seated??? Or maybe it's coincidence.

  • RUSSELL, don't leave us brits behind. :)

  • Curse you Enya!! :)

  • Hahaha, he's so adorably awkward at the end.

"Hands? Pockets? Cross my arms? Another handshake? What do I do!??"
