  • made me cry :"(

  • this video breaks my heart :(

  • that video made me cry

  • that was on true stories babes of hollywood

  • im in sick kids :)

  • I love sick kids since I was born with a mouth problem

  • Who dares to dislike this.

  • I know what its like to be a sick kid in and out of the hospital. All most all my life i was in and out bc of med trobble.

  • I LISTEN TO THIS SONG WHEN I GET DE-MOTIVATED IN SCHOOL, IT HELPS ME REALIZE HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS TO BE A DOCTOR. GIVES ME THAT EXTRA KICK TO LEARN AND NEVER GIVE UP. one day....

  • @safarsafar1234

i am exactly the same way

  • @Tanyavoda :)

  • i have listen to this about a 102 times and i still fell so sad for all of them and i always will feel sad for them

  • Kids with special needs aren't sick or gross or stupid, and their handicap is not contagious. They only want what we all want: to be accepted and loved. It's the way they are and theyre no different from anyone else, just the fact they have a sadder story to tell. ♥

  • where did you get the minute long version? I've only ever been able to find the 33 second version...

  • @bunnyluvr316

I got it from YouTube, actually. If I have the facts correct, the original uploader had 2 accounts, and cancelled one, which included this video. I asked if he was going to re-upload it. He said no. I asked if I could. He said yes.

  • Really sad that people just want to thank those that have helped keep them alive as a child, and get harrassed for doing it. You think your tough? Kids going through this are tougher than you ever will. It's cowardly what you are doing. I know I am going to get attacked for saying this, but say what you want. You can't hurt me. I've made it through more than you ever will.

  • @4Vandle4 Sad isn't it. I try to simply thank people who have helped me in and out of hospital throughout my childhood, and get harrassed and attacked for doing it. Seriously sad.

  • I know the guy at 0:45! Still a cute commercial though :)

  • I know what thats like. I'm one of the many kids always in the hospital..I hate that alot...this meens alot to me tho

  • They are so many great people who care for us. Thank you all so much

  • This is why U.S. healthcare is so much. The doctors are wasting time making stupid commercials for Youtube.

  • @steezyjizzle The us system is actually worse then Canada's(sick kids is in canada). Your get sick you could become bankrupt and loose your house. In Canada kids get treatment, they don't get denied because the ins. comp decides that the treatment is exparamental or that the condition was a prior illness. Sick kids does alot of research which costs money, money that has to come from somewhere. Also sick kids takes in kids from other countries too.

  • @wanttoseemysnake Actually they do get denied, and I was one of them. I desperately needed surgery in Sick Kids Toronto back when I was fifteen years old and was told my application form was ''rejected''. The socialized health care system is a mess and NO it's not free we pay for it through ridiculously high taxes and the quality of care is extremely poor and you can still be turned down as there's a little thing called the ''triage'' system here as well as infinite wait lists.

  • @Counterbrilliance Thats seems odd to me. Are you from toronto or another city? I mean i needed treatment and got to go in a week. And still recieving treatment now, though that may be because my dad is a docter or something. Im pretty sure the system changed now, they except as many people they can according to their diagnoses and treatment.

  • @ThatGurlSarah Yes this was several years ago now, six years actually, I'm from Guelph - which is 60 minutes west of Toronto, but because my tumor was located in my Parotid gland , between my neck and head, I needed a surgeon that specialized in head and neck surgery which my home town didn't have ( as this was a relatively rare thing) so I applied to sick kids but like many was turned down.

  • @steezyjizzle This is Canadian, paid for by our tax dollars, jackass.

  • @steezyjizzle This is Canadian, paid for by our tax dollars, jackass. But it's a hell of a touching ad.

  • im one of them :-(

  • These kids aren't actors at all they are all children who were or are in the hospital some of these kids are truly sick! Pray for them!!

  • @sweetie12308 what was that red thing in that girls throat did she have throat cancer?

  • the girl at 0:06 was she getting radiation therapy? or was that just a cat scan

  • This Is the reason im studying biology, and the reason i go to school, the reason i wake up in the morning. Its this miracle of giving. God bless 'em

  • ive been in sick kids...

  • Sick kids saved my son's life he was born with major heart condition . Anthony would not be hear today if it was not for all the love and care he got there. I own them my life. He is now 4 years old and he now has cancer but he is a true fighter and my hero.

  • I love sick kids the work they do is amazing...and im also proud to say that i work for wal mart and that the CMN (childrens miracle network) from our store goes to sick kids...every dollar helps and also the wal mart walk for miracles is an amazing event...

  • angiemohr your right. seriously it didnt look real.

  • i go there every 6 months sickkids i can trust forever and always

  • poor sick kids that must hard to be in the hospital worrying about your heart everyday than worrying what to play outside everyday. : (

  • yes, _rather_ than (instead of)

    worrying what to play

  • @dwagner125 well i spent about 40% of my life at sick kids and it doesnt really fell like a hospital

  • Hospitals in the US also rely on fundraising - haven't you heard of the Children's Miracle Network Telethon?

  • I was boarn with a hole in my heart and they saved my life and my mom and dad though I was going to die and I still got the scars from my open heart surgery to prove it so I am lucky to be alive right now

  • Im so happy for you. :) Its people like them that make up for the other horrible acts upon are world like animal cruelty and child abuse/

  • before canadians were not allowed to donate to hospitals but they have changed the law so that people can and you can see the improvments if you walk into any hospital in ontario

  • @lostalex77 so they used "If I had a million dollars" by the Canadian band "Bare Naked Ladies" for your New York lottery.

  • Please feel sorry for the kids in the hospital- not for the ones in this commercial. They are all actors who donated their time to this production.

  • @angiemohr Not true. Most of the kids in this commercial are actual SickKids patients.

  • @fishrocketeer Ummm...no they're not. My son is in the commercial and I attended the shoot. They are all professional actors who donated their time for this commercial.

  • @angiemohr The girl at :28 sec is a real patient as is the boy at :37 sec.

  • @angiemohr Amen! thank you. I can't believe people think these kids are '' real patients '' undergoing treatment lol, they're most certainly actors. Can I ask which one is you son.

  • @angiemohr search up some more videos, those kids are real patients at SICKKIDS.

  • @safarsafar1234 - Maybe you didn't understand my post. I WAS THERE at the shoot. My son is IN the commercial. These are all actors who donated their time. The are NOT real patients. Please know what you are talking about before flapping your gums (or keyboard keys).

  • @angiemohr

    Stop trolling, seriously.

Google Sick Kids Foundation, Believe, and look under the FAQ. IT CLEARLY says that they are REAL patients.

  • @ZFero Ummm....yeah. No such thing in the FAQ's. Why would you want to diminish the gift that these actors gave by doing the PSA? Again, I was at the commercial shoot, my son is in the commercial and all of the participants are actors who donated their time. Were you there? Didn't think so. If you want to see a troll, look in the mirror.

  • @angiemohr

Family of Heroes - Frequently Asked Questions

Are the people in the advertising materials real SickKids staff and patients?

All people featured in the advertising are real SickKids patients, parents and staff. To learn more about their stories, visit Our Stories.

  • @ZFero Read more carefully- not the same ad campaign at all...

  • @angiemohr You should actually look it up. It is all under the Believe campaign.

  • @ZFero Not really sure what your agenda is here, but whatever. Look at the videos they show with that FAQ. It's for their 2008 Family of Heroes campaign. Not the same thing at all. But by all means, keep arguing about something you know nothing about. You are trying to minimize the contributions of these young actors to an important cause. You are doing them and the hospital a disservice. Hope you're proud.

  • @angiemohr Will do.

  • @angiemohr oh, well my apologies than, i was simply stating what i witnessed from other videos. Please be mature about this, you response doesn't reflect the carrying personality you have expressed in your post.

  • @safarsafar1234 angiemohr is a troll, trust me.

Check out the FAQ for Sick Kids, its real.

  • i was there once i despretley needed help and i got it so now give them help they nedd it

  • @lostalex77 Our health care has a budget like any others would have. Donations to hospitals help provide more funds to purchase new equipment and fund other research projects. In the end our government looks after what the extra costs of our hospitals take on (if they run into the red), but public donations from individuals help lighten the load of each hospital and in return our governments expenditures. So to answer your question yes our health care does provide enough to look after everyone

  • I was at Sick Kids and was taken very good care of.

  • ummm, stupid american here... i thought canada had government healthcare.... so why do they need a commercial asking for donations??

  • You have to visit the hospital to understand.

  • east or west?

  • our gov only pay so much and not like to pay for up to the secand tek and people

sick kids is one of many child get well places up here gov pay for some donations make up for diff most of the time

  • where do you think we get all the supplies??

the hospitals still need money to pay the stuff.

  • @luvsomechocolate OIC... so yur saying Canadian government healthcare doesn't provide enuf?

  • @lostalex77 We do... but donations are for purchasing more equipment, the government only pays the fees a hospital would normally charge to a person.

  • @lostalex77 Money donated goes to things that the government doesn't cover. Sick kids is the leading hospital for childhood cancer in canada, they also provide entertainment, support to families(cots),reasurch and theropy, kids from out of the country. So many things it's hard to list yet none are covered, the states are like that too ,donations are used for extras.

  • i wonder if the guy who came up with the song had things like this in mind when he put it to paper?

  • i feel really bad for the kids on 26 and 30 and i cant evan listen tot he song with out thinking of this video

  • this is actually reallly sad!

  • I remember first seeing this ad around the time my kitten neeky was ill it gave me hope she'll get better, she did but later on she was sick again but this time she wasn't so lucky, we had to put her down, I still miss her

  • I've been to that hospital. Anybody that can go in there and still believe there is a god is delusional!

Thanks to the doctors, people, science and donations we get to help those kids. If you want to believe in a miracle, the sheer fact that this hospital exists by human hands is one.
