  • Boss track! Thanks for posting!

  • @adysaxman77 You're welcome!

  • Julie Miller is the writer of this song

  • @shieldwolf2012 Yes, she is. Thank you.

  • Love this song. First heard it on a CD by the group Selah. My band--Damascus Road is doing it now as part of our song list.

  • @kevinbreau Thank you for commenting.

  • jeugd sentiment!

  • just beautiful.thanks

  • @297Wuvx You're welcome.

  • Yeah - I prefer the "Songcatcher" version because the instrumentals are more traditional - not that I've got anything against Christian Rock'n'Roll!

  • @derekwhitenz Thank you for commenting.

  • The 'Unknown" and "Mass Grave" headstones cracked me up... Yet, as Julie sings: 'my saviour knows my name.'

I was thinking about this song and this particular line last night - and it pops up on YouTube! AlI think all versions of this song are great.

  • @babooshkalika Thank you for commenting.

  • I bought a tape years ago by Julie Miller with this song and some other greats on it.I used to play it on the road, this is a wonderful song by her and EmmyLou also.

  • @crowleysridgegirl Yes, it is. Thanks for commenting.

  • There was another version of this song on YouTube which included banjo in the arrangement (from the "Songcatcher" soundtrack?) but the video is now gone. Does anyone know where I can find this video with the banjo in it? Because that version is simply stunning. I had it saved to my favorite and then the video disappeared.

  • @ANGELSVEN

ive been looking for it too

this version is a little too upbeat

  • @ANGELSVEN It's called copyright infringement. It happens all the time. YouTube is always pulling "Official" videos. All one needs to do to get around it is to create their own video and play the song (I think). Thus continues my love/hate relationship with YouTube.

I love this song this way. I love Buddy's Wandre Guitar. He amped it up to a Christian Rock song which helps deliver it to a younger audience that likes to Rock and Roll

  • @theart1rm I've gone through two "songcatcher" soundtrack CDs in order to have this song (one was damaged, one left in a rental car). i'm going to have to break down and buy a 3rd CD, that's how much i love this song. i'm a musician, too, and my vocalist and i will be doing a cover song of "all my tears." i turned him onto the song and now he loves it as much as i do. :) i just wish someone would put the banjo version back up on youtube...

  • My ex-wife and I once sang this song at the funeral of our friend's beloved grandma. It's a beautiful, powerful song.

  • @CalCanuck9 Yes, it is. Thank you for commenting.

  • Thank you so much for posting this song. I really appreciate it right now.

  • @Tiger88873 You're very welcome.

  • I love this combination of Julie and her female southern drawl vocals and her very own, but widely covered song. This is my favorite of all I've heard so far. I love everything about it. It is a song that one can identify with, in their own personal style of performing. It sounds good by eveyone who covers it, when they are just being theirself.

  • @johnwon454 Julie Miller is a favorite of mine. I love the honesty that comes through her songs. Thank you for commenting.

  • @beanscot I'm sorry for over looking your video in my first comment, I mainly listen while I work, and therefore can't watch. But did go back and show and play for my wife. Thanks for your testimony you share unto all. If I may add; It can be found in 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-8. Also, I like the picture of Wall Street/NY Stock Exchange and that it aligns with "LIE" at the lyrics "Temporary Riches Lie" = "Perfect" Great Job and thanks again for sharing the truth.

  • @johnwon454 You're welcome. Your comments are appreciated.

  • Oh I love Ashley Cleveland......Thank you for posting this one :-)

  • @26sherrybaby You're welcome! Julie Miller is the one who wrote this song. I also like Ashley Cleveland.

  • I so want this song played at my funeral! Beautiful song and beautiful message.

  • @NicaGirl Thanks for commenting. I agree it's a beautiful song and message.

  • so glad she is singing this. reaching so many people with God's message!

  • @byebyebabyLAB You've reminded me to pray for her and her husband. Thank you.

  • i love this song...

  • @wildthing777100 I do too. Thanks for commenting.

  • A great song beanscot, another song I love by Buddy and Julie Miler is 'A Rivers Gonna Run' can you do that one with a slide show?

  • @fulljump57 I'm not sure. I'd have to listen to the song. : ) Thanks for asking.

  • @fulljump57 Do you maybe mean "River Where Mercy Flows"?

  • @theart1rm "The River's going to run" For lyrics search (buddy miller the river's going to run) for cowboylyrics. The song is on; "Best of the Hightone Years" CD. If you search in 'Amazon . com' for this CD; click on the CD... to the lower right there will be a little box with Formats in it. In that box if you click on (mp3 Download 16 songs 2008) you will see all the songs on that CD and you can sample them... you can buy the songs for .99 a shot or buy the whole CD by going back to formats.

  • I agree this is one of the most powerful songs I have heard. My favorite live performance of all time is Lara Fabian's "Je t' aime" Live in concert at I believe "Nue or Noe". Unbeknownst to her, it was arranged for the audience to sing this song to Lara. Her pianist stops, which is the que for them to start singing. Her astonishment, how moved she is, despite which she joins in the singing & we see perfect fan love. I would've like to seen the Millers in concert, they were an amazing couple.

  • @theart1rm Thanks for commenting. I agree that the Millers are amazing!

  • Which CD is this song on?

  • @theart1rm It's called "Broken Things."

  • @beanscot Thank you. I'll check it out on Amazon

  • wow, although I'm a Jew I really like this Julie Miller. She is great !!

  • @akseakayaker I'm a huge Julie Miller fan. Thanks for commenting.

  • I do praise and worship, but don't hear much gospel or bluegrass, but God bless YOU Julie for and with this song, Thanks

  • Thank you! so much for posting this. Julie Miller really gets down to the reality

of our Lord and Savour Jesus Christ and what he has done and will do.

  • @glorialeeyoung8 You're welcome! I agree with you about Julie Miller.

  • blessings!

  • I believe Buddy Miller is playin this music

YES HE IS SINGING WITH HER!!

    He does this best !!

  • They are an impressive husband/wife team!

  • @beanscot I was lucky to have seen Buddy Miller play last June at the Telluride Music festival in Telluride Colorado USA. He played this very song

  • @akseakayaker I wish I could have been there! : )

  • This song was written in the wake of Mark Heard's untimely death at age 40. Heard was a magnificent song-writer and Julie covered his song "Treasure of the Broken Land" on the same album she recorded this song with Emmylou Harris. Julie's a gem.

  • Yes, she is. Thanks for commenting.

  • hi beanscot - would like to chat - you seem very kind - bye the way - are you in the music scene in any way?

  • i read the words to this song at a dear friends funeral ....there was not a dry eye in the house...it was very up lifting.

  • I believe it was originally written after the death of a friend of Julie Miller's. Thanks for sharing your story.

  • Did you know in which album i can find it?

  • It's on Julie Miller's "Broken Things" album. I purchased it from ITunes. Thanks for asking!

  • one of the most beautiful songs ever!!

  • Julie Miller is a gifted songwriter.

  • if anyone knows the guitar tab for this song or how to play a tab version could they please let me know where to find it as I love this song!!!

  • I love this song

  • I'm glad!

  • beanscot, Nancy,a couple of years ago I went with my son who sings in the Eau Claire Master

Singers for music @ a Basilica in Minneapolis.

Before the concert,I was exploring this magnificent cathedral&happened upon a statue

of Jesus that mesmerized me. Knelt & kissed

his feet. A miracle happened-my physical pain disappeared!I will always cherish that

moment. Some time later, have suffered many maladies,on hiatus from music preformance, & pray for healing. Isaiah 40:31 & Psalm104:33.
