@ThatGuyInAmerica At one point the EA servers were experiencing a lot of problems for a couple of weeks, but that was a long time ago and didn't last. It came and went and affected everybody. But for the most part for the past 3 years I've been playing, they have been pretty solid. If you are still having problems, you may need to go into your router settings and temporarily locate your gaming PC outside the firewall / DMZ. I've never had a problem though on the client side.

BF2142 demo is hopping and has been for last 3 years. Download it, install it, tweak out your video card settings (resolution higher to match your monitor, everything on left column on medium, everything on right column for lighting 'off'... except view distance, set to full... antialiasing off., special lighting off, audio to hardware). Then make a player, log in, click the Advanced Tab, and connect to CHOPPERGIRL'S AIRWAR.

Well there's first strike mod which is a full conversion mod changes the vehicles and guns and maps to star wars themed stuff.

Everything works fine, I've created an acc, etc.

Except, when I go to play multiplayer, there are no servers? I wait for a couple of minutes, and click refresh and update, but nothing ever comes up. Is there something wrong with my version of the game, or is it just that I haven't come on at the right time?

the only reason it kicks you out for no reason on any windows type (I have Vista) is because it needs to run under Administrator so just right click then click run as administrator and your good to go!
