I get the relaunch as a marketing excercise, but I dont get the necessity to put everything in the same universe. Stormwatch (or, rather The Authority) is pretty darn far removed from mainline DC in tone, and the Batman>>Midnighter , Superman>>Apolo similaritys are too strong. Plus if Justice League 1 is an indication of where this is going, reading like a childrens intro to characters comic, then this whole thing will be retconned within 6 months. And until that happens, I will be downloading DC books for free. Thats what they fucking get.
I am more concerned about continuity than ever before. With the multi-universe constantly changing I accept that I can’t keep up with some of the stories. I'll wait and see. Batman's still Batman though. That's what's important.

Morrison's writing took some getting used to. When I first read his stuff, I just read Batman RIP without any of the buildup and didn't care for it. But after reading his whole Batman run, I appreciated it a lot more. (Although his best work IMO was Animal Man)

What I do require is clear moments of transition. Morrison doesn't give that. He injects seemingly meaningless panels into spaces they don't really fit. When they finally make sense 5 issues down the road you guys think it's something more than the cheap parlor trick it actually is. There are better, less shallow ways to build intrigue.
