@bjoclot Did you receive a medal for that social bigotry? And, do you always revert to third grade insults when someone let's you know how much of a hypocrite you are? I'm also going to assume that momma's basement is drafty, so it puts you in a dapper mood.
Obviously the previous commenters are movie producers with long, illustrious careers. Far be it for anyone to have an opinion opposed to you two's narrow passage of thought. First guy, as an actual Irish person, I take offense to your lack of knowledge of a traditional dance. "Riverdance" is a traveling, production based show, not the dance itself you self-indulgent narcissist. And second guy, assuming that your wealth of knowledge as it pertains to your storied theatrical career, is in fac
Tom Cruise and this guy should not dance like leprechauns, for obvious reasons. So the clueless director put him up on the table to try to make him look what, not short?
@bjocelot In this case ironic, but you should watch the movie since i think you didnt based on your comment. BTW "this guy" is Willem Dafoe and i think its a little bit offending putting him on the same line with Tom Cruise. No offend meant from my side and sry for bad english.
@IndianaKeks I tried to watch the movie and got through most of it; it is indeed what they call unwatchable. Horrible script, worse direction, even worse acting. Can't even call it acting. One gets no sense that any of the people involved have a clue as to how to tell a story. A lot of ego and exhibitionism -- fun to do maybe, tedious to watch.
@bc9021010001 Yeap. I don't get this guy. He's small, slight, and effeminate which would be all right but he does not seem to know how to act, which is not all right. Nothing builds to anything else, nothing adds up if you know what I mean. I guess in Hollywood if your voice sounds like you smoked a million cigarettes and drank a million shots of Wild Turkey and look like your face just went through a windshield people think you are tough.
@IndianaKeks PS I am well-aware who the actor is. Apart from his amateur night Spider Man villain he makes tedious ultra pretentious movies that attract tiny audiences & earn no money, for obvious reasons (how many times can you watch an ugly man figuratively masturbate?). Oh yeah, & fortunately he was edited skillfully in American Psycho so he could not ruin it. Tom Cruise actually has on occasion achieved verisimilitude & been quite affecting, in addition, of course, to being a movie star.
@bjocelot LOL LEPRECHAUN is right! I have to agree with you. Funny how they hire a dwarf to play a tough guy. So do you have any idea who this actor is or is he just some random midget to you? LOL
Irish dancing done in "Riverdance" was done with arms straight down, not arms akimbo. Would have been funnier, more interesting, and more true to life had the actor observed that detail. But you have to look outside of yourself for that kind of information. This movie is a cult thing among violence-philiacs, but the discerning eye sees nothing here but the usual repetition of cliches, from the script to the "acting."
@bc9021010001 Right, the signature move in the style used in "Riverdance" is keeping the arms straight down and still while the legs and feet are busy. A character having that on his mind would know that -- an actor who could not do that basic 30 seconds of research is no actor at all, just a fame whore. Hands on hips indeed is a cliche leprechaun move.

@IndianaKeks Yeah I saw the movie. Pathetic. A wannabe's fantasy rip-off of Reservoir Dogs.

It's actually called "Sean Nos," not Riverdance. Riverdance is the name of a specific performance given by Michael Flatley.
