i thought the same thing. but watch it again. he only puts one hand in front of the can. the other hand stays by him so there is no way he used a lighter.

I was trying to apply this trick to an emergency situation... However then I suddenly realized I could just skip the can and salt entirely and just light the Paper with my Matches =/
