  • man i luv my monitor but its native is 1920x1080 so its hard to get a cheap pc to play at that res lol...

  • how much ram do you have

  • I need help...

wich one is the best resolution 1440x900 or 1280x1024??

my screen is 1440x900 my graphic car is 275GTX wich is the best???

  • @lucas40684068 1440x900 is better for your screen if that's its native resolution. 1440x900 is 16:10 aspect ratio and 1280x1024 is 5:4 aspect ratio. You want to run the game in the max native resolution so you get the best picture quality possible and so things don't look stretched out if you were to run it in a different aspect ratio. Hope this helps.

  • I think you mean 1280x1024.

    1280x1024 is 1,310,720 pixels

    1440x900 is 1,296,000 pixels

    they are almost the same.

  • Very nice video, clear even without the HD on. I request advice from anyone. I am building a new rig to play the Bf: bad company 2 pc game next year. Its a dx11 game. Should I go Ati or Nvidia. P.S. I am not spending more than 350 bucks on a card. Thanx in advance

  • at the minute all of the good DX11 cards out are priced just about on your budget. ATI 5 series are the only cards at the minute that support DX11.

My advice would be to wait until after april when nvidia releases the Fermi chips - even if they end up being too expensive for you it should mean decent price cuts on lower end cards

  • beautiful rig , great video, i have a question, how can i set 16x AA on crysis (not crysis warhead)

tanx and keep the vids coming!!

  • Thanks for the comment. If you have an ATI card, I think the highest you can do is 8XAA. If you got an Nvidia card, you can set 16XAA and beyond. You click options-> video or graphics-> and set it there.

  • Hi will i be able to run crysis on Very high setting with no AA on the GTX 275. and tell me how it will work with the following: Intel Core 2 Duo Quad Q8300 2.5Ghz(4cpus), 700GB hard drive, 8gb ddr3. tell me what you think about it. Although i will be upgrading my pc to a gtx 275 that why im asking and also is gtx 275 better than gtx 260

  • yes.

gtx 275 is slightly better than the 260.

  • Thank You very much for replying.

  • how much mega byte has your graphics card ?

  • 896 MB frame buffer

  • with gtx 275 at 1280x1024 and i5 @stock

how much fps will i get?

  • so how would 2 of these gtx 275s work? in 1920x1200

  • What's that benchmark-thing you're' using?

    where can I download it?

  • Just google Crysis Benchmark downloads- and you will get a bunch of links to it.

  • no...

  • Thanks for the comment man. Your PSU will be able to handle it :)

  • Will a fan do this game or do i need liquid cooling ? :O

  • if you have decent air cooling, you should be fine. my video cards are air cooled and my cpu is liquid cooled.

  • Decent? can you give me some examples??

  • an aftermarket cooler, not the intel one that came in the box with the cpu. anything like that will do fine.

  • wait will a arctic cooling alpine 64 do the job?

  • yes

  • that shouldn't be a problem, its 850 watts. i usually run 1680*1050 too but with 2x AA. i probably only get about 30 or maybe 40 fps on average. does that sound like what you get? i'm even thinking of getting another card for SLI

  • can i run a gtx 275 on a 500w power supply?

  • Probably but it would be a close call. EVGA recommends 550W

  • Do u think it run best whit 650w corsair tx power supplie?

  • That power supply would be good for this card

  • no you cant

  • did you do this benchmark with any AA turned on? what about if you run your CPU at stock speed? I have a core i7 920 2.66 ghz with a gtx 275 FTW and i have to say i've been really disappointed with how my system runs crysis... not sure what im doing wrong here

  • In the video, I clearly show the settings, AA is turned off. Also in the description I put "Crysis 1440 x 900 (1400x960 on benchmark) no AA, high and very high"

Why are you running your i7 920 at stock? Those cpus can overclock to 3.8+GHz. That will improve Crysis.

  • I had a lot of problems with my other games with my card. I had a friend tell me to turn on the forced vertical sync, so when i did, it made everything a lot better than before.

Maybe you've already done this, just saying.

  • lol...first of all i7 is beyond crysis' cpu requirements..second a gtx 275 FTW is great on crysis..although maxing out AA upto x16 is insane and im sure crysis wont run that smooth specially on a reso above 1440x900 with AA maxed out..try to max evrything out and just use maybe x4 AA im use your going to get a decent FPS..

    hope i helped..

  • nice ;) i'm playing on AMD Phenom II 955 BE, 4GB DDR3 OCZ and GTX 275 (all in stock) in very high settings and this game is beatiful... :D

  • How many fps do you get?..getting my Phenom x 4 940 and my gtx 275 in a few days :)

  • nice one :)

    i have 25 min and 60 max :) avg is 35-40 ;)

  • Okay :) That should be enought for smooth gaming :D

  • I just ordered 2 GTX 275s today

  • Seagate hard drives, LOL! I'm sorry to laugh but this is just funny from my personal experience. WD =/= SG

  • WD was out of stock

  • Is it true that you get lower performance on 1440x900 than 1680x1050?

  • no, not at all. 1440x900 might give equivalent performance that you would get in 1680x1050 rather than better performance in the smaller resolutions depending on your hardware. For instance if you have a CPU bottleneck at lower resolutions. But in most cases, the answer is no that you get better performance in 1440x900.

  • Hrm ok because for example, i ran the re5 bm and i have a gtx 260 core 216 with an e6320 oc'd at 3ghz and i get lower fps than people running at 1680x1050...is that normal? I know e8xxx processors are faster per clock but are they that much faster...i get an agerave 64.6 with ALL max (aa=16xq) and people with 1680x1050 get in the 70-80 range..

  • Oh, so people running the benchmark with the same card get higher fps on a higher resolution? Ya, to me it sounds like your CPU is holding you back. If you want to spend the money, it wouldn't be a foolish upgrade to get an E8500 or a quad core. Basically what happens is the video card does more work on higher res while CPU does more work on lower res. So if you have a good card, but a mediocre CPU, then at lower frames your performance will suffer. But I wouldn't worry too much about 65fps.

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • Can you show GTX 275 on Very High 1280x1024 (Or the highest you can go)

with one time at 4xAA, one time 8xAA , and one time 16xAA.

And If you can last time at 16xQ :))

Thanks! (Cos im getting Asus GTX 275, I want to see the fps ;|

  • ok, ill try and run it tomorrow

  • "pretty" close to this card here....thx for answer

  • i get 21.05 FPS with my 8800gtx on the same settings@very high.....i`m thinking of a change to this card here, but is it worth?because i`m pretty close

  • At this point getting a second 8800GTX really isn't worth it so I wouldn't recommend that. I recommend two options though: Either get a GTX 260 Core 216 (slightly less performance but a noticeable price difference) or what I would do is hold onto the 8800 until the end of the year, really only like 3-4 months when Nvidia will hopefully release the GT300 DX11 cards.

  • too late...i bought a gtx 285 from gainward...but thx for the answer

  • Really? I think I responded to you within an hour but alright, enjoy the new card.

  • but i have a problem.....wenn i walk or drive in far cry i have see a kind of "film" before me - that means that schadows where sharp if i walk up to the object, when i take a step back the shadow gets unclear....know what i mean?

  • i mean FC2 - i hate this effect...

  • its because the GTX 285 is a terrible card. Get a GeForce 6400, those are beast

  • are you joking?please be serious i need a solution...you the effect i am talking about?

  • lol yea I'm joking. And i'm sure everyone tells you this, but working in computer repairs, my first thought is: update ALL your drivers? (cpu, mobo, gpu, everything). Update the game? Try installing RealTemp and check the temperatures of your computer. If the parts are all running very hot, it could cause some "artifacting"

  • Comment removed

  • LMAO

  • Its level of detail, the game uses less power by making the far off shadows more basic, thus giving you a better fps.

  • is it made by the game himselfs or can i make a setting?i saw vids where the guys dont have the effect and shadows are sharp....thx

  • Thanks for the info man definatly ganna buy two of these bad boys haha

    Q6600@3.2

    4gigs 800 mhz sli ram

    780i sli board

should see some nice eye candy

  • is your system able to do that?

  • OK xD

eh, i've send a mail with all my specific specs. and the memory is x2 ( i've forgotten to tell ya ) you should take a look if your instrested.

  • and would it handel crysis at 1920 x 1200 with everything on the highest?? 'couse that would be SO cool!

  • i think so

  • is that the 275 with 892 memory or 1784?

  • 896MB

  • ok, it's a Antec PSU/ATX12V 750W PFC EarthWatts2.0 120mm. And thats all I know. uhm my whole system is a bit much tekst for a comment so, if ya wanna know it all I will send a youtube-mail.

  • That should be good

  • Ok, now i've chosen a 750 watts power supply. Again, would I be able to do that? (with 2 gtx's in a SLI combination slot)

  • Ya, make sure it has the right plugs (4 6 pins minimum) and what brand is it?

  • hey, it's me again. Would I be able to run crysis at the highest settings with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with 2 275 gtx's? And with a 550 watts power supply? sorry for so many questions...

  • No wayyyyyyy

550W is like the minimum for a single GTX 275. You need a 750W minimum for two GTX 275s.

  • 850 minimum for two the corsair 850 wat has like 70 amps on the 12v rail if i remember right should easily run two of these

  • A Corsair 750W or equivalent is enough to run a system with two GTX 275s as long as you dont have like 6 hard drives. But like I said, 750W is minimum.

  • Lol it seems that the difference between our cards are actually not noticeable. I have got an Ati 4890, and with the same settings I get 33.06 (32 bit mode in 64 bit windows 7, don't know why it won't run in 64). Thatis with PII 955, 6GB OCZ Gold and M4A78T-E.

  • Ok thnx a lot!

  • Ok, Thanks a lot! Ur really fast at replying! ^^ Hmm, is the GTX 275 enough for me? And what would you recommend?

    1. High resolution, lower videosettings

    or

    2. High video settings, low resolution?

    Greetzz from nogie88 :)

  • Higher video settings on lower resolution will look a lot better and run well. A GTX 275 will be enough for 1680x1050 High and you'll get plenty of eye candy too.

  • I think I wanna buy this card but I have a question:

Would crysis run smoothly at very high with a resolution of 1920 x 1200? And what if I overclock the card?

  • In my Benchmarking Gauntlet & Update video, I run a Crysis benchmark on two GTX 275s, 1680x1050 Very High and I think I got something it the high 40s as an avg. One GTX 275 might be enough for 1920x1200 High no AA but you might have to go down to Medium settings. You can play the game 1680x1050 on a 1920x1200 monitor on High on a single GTX 275 and it will still look good and run smooth. For games like Crysis and a couple others, extra memory buffer helps like the 1.7GB GTX 275.

  • what benchmarking software is that?

  • I'm about to buy a new PC including a XFX GTX 275, so thank's a lot for this benchmark! How does it perform on very high under stress?

  • It manages pretty well at Very High on this resolution but starts to struggle on 1680x1050 and up. A single 275 should be able to handle most resolutions on High though.

  • Nice to hear. I don't care for 1680x1050 and up, since I'm on a Samsung 931BW which is 1440 x 900.

  • Ok, then this card should perform very well for you.

  • thx for the video my 4870 sonic used to get 52 fps at high .

  • I think overclocking the GTX 275 yields results in the high 50s
