While this PMV was really well made as far as effects, I think that you could have probably done more of a story arc with the music, rather than just showing sad moments from the show. That's why I believe that the way UP used it worked; because it showed a story that was happy and slowly but inevitably became sad, and the music was a narrator for the feelings and emotions of the characters.
@smashballed Really nice point you have there. Thing is, how could a story be made possible in this? I mean, sure I could get some clips and stitch them together, but I don't think a story, as in a scripted video is possible...Only real story in the show, that follows up to the sadness, is Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2, which I used for a bit... Other than that, I'm not sure exactly how a story arc could be done...
@Hal9000ftw Yeah I'm sorry, I should have stated a possible solution to the problem rather than just pointing it out.
I agree that S2:E1&2 have the sadness (along with Sisterhooves Social) that made it work in this video. While I'm no expert I think a way you could do it is to show some of the happy moments, such as the mane 6 interacting and having fun (which works great with the vignette effect) when the song wasn't really in the sad parts. Then you would play the sad clips at parts like 3:13.
@smashballed Well, compared to the original UP movie where this comes from, the sad moments start exactly where they start in this video (that part of the music). Rest of the music might not be THAT sad as at 3:13, but in the original video, the content itself is sad. I did make quite a few happy moments, at least as many as the music allowed me to, but, compared to the original story, it would feel wrong to put happy where sad was.
@Hal9000ftw Looking back at my comment, I should have worded it better.
I see that you did use some happy moments and such. But I think the reason UP worked a little better was because it was telling one story (Ellie and Carl's life story), so I believe that this may have worked better if you had stuck to using less episodes to get your clips, or if you had played the key parts of a story/scene of an episode (e.g. 1:59 - 2:10 could have been continued to show the other 3 stories).
@smashballed I see what you mean now. It's a good point I must admit. If I decide to make my next video a story arc video, I will consider your suggestions. Any special requests? :)
Curse you for making such a well put together PMV that induces such tears. As if the beginning of Up wasn't bad enough, you had to go and make Fluttershy cry. D':

@Hal9000ftw Thanks, I thought that was just a minor flaw in an otherwise great video.
As for your next video I have no certain requests, but I'm sure it'll be great!
Side note: Snow effect goes great with the video.
