Hey, Duragon. Solid LP. Just throwing this out there, in case you hadn't seen it already. But, Metroid Confrontation 2 is out now. It's an extended tech demo for AM2R. It's longer, has an extra boss, and from what I can tell, has no Spider Ball. I've been following this project for a while now and the new demo just came out a couple days ago. If you're interested, I would advise the RapidShare link on his newest blog post. It seems to work the best.

@DuragonLeMente Shiiiiiit. Duragon got the connections. I'm stoked about how close he is to finishing. Metroid II had so much potential, but was nigh unplayable due to...pretty much everything (I still beat it twice lol). Glad to see you're on the ball. Is the charge beam in the new demo? I never found it anywhere.

And chipmunked LPs are always excellent. Is your Fraps or whatever you use just shitting out and making it run slow?

Metroid 2 did have a lot of potential, it's a wonder why the people with the rights to the Metroid series didn't remake it. Where the sales of Metroid 2 THAT abysmal? o-o

Also yes the Charge Beam is in the demo, a bit hard to locate but it is there. The playthrough that I'm doing is a 100% run, so you'll see it in time. =3

Nyuu it's the game itself. When I record the slowdown is just horrid. Fraps would have done the same as Camtasia. x.x;;

@DuragonLeMente Dude, did you play Metroid 2? Shit was awful. If it was less zoomed in and had a map, it would have been fantastic. But, seriously, Samus took up half the screen and every room looked the same. And considering you had to go through pretty much every room just to progress, it was horrible.

I trust you, Duragon. Lead me to the charge beam!

@DuragonLeMente Exactly. That's why I have so much faith in Doc M. There was nothing wrong with the game besides the technical limitations. It just so happens that those limitations totally crippled it as a game.

i don't know why people hate the spider ball so much, I've never had a problem with it, in the original M2 I mean. cant remember how it was with this. I actually thought it was one of the cooler things they added to the series. *shrugs* (psst, just don't hit down twice! = P)

Oh the original Spider Ball from Metroid 2 was great, the mechanics of it were done very well. I'm just talking about how THIS spider ball was programed. It's a little too sensitive to be used effectively. I was just showing off how a few simple tweaks could make it a very nice little addition. :3

That and turning down the whumwhum noise a bit would have been a good idea to keep people from getting annoyed with it. XD

Hey, this video is sharper than the last two! Did run @ 320x240 so as to not have the bilinear filter and then upscale the final using nearest neighbor?

Also, what input method are you using? If gamepad, what pad?

I myself finally got a bluetooth adapter for using wiimotes and man this game is SO much better with a classic controller vs a keyboard :P

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I added an optional control for the spiderball, so it´s not activated accidentally. I´ll also add a way to skip the item messages (You´re right, it IS tedious to see it for the 100th time).

oh yeah - let me tell you, i was a big gamer since 1980 up until just a few years ago. I kept up with the latest - I even remember when F-fantasy first came out. Today, I have a ps3 but I hardly play it. I think it's either old age, or something there that makes me dizzy. But I plan to get back into my full gamer status once I get into the nursing home - i'd need something to do LOLOL :P ;)
