  • Pause at 2:02 an eagle over the all seeing eye.

  • Very cool guitars and amps. Sounds like the tones match up to the guitars being played, too.

  • This is sooo rad, at first I thought the Guru had a Macbook Pro ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Garoooovy!

  • OH MY GOOOOOSH... That's reaaaaaaally goooooood...

  • The groovy guru has Eddie Munster's haircut.

  • love that dance, acid rocccckkkk

  • Get Smart

  • this plot was recycled for the "Space Rockers" episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1980) , with Jerry Orbach playing the non (intentionally) comedic villain. The music was just as ridiculous, however.

  • @abcbatman1966 ,

I only half agree. the music of the Sacred Cows was pretty cool, but the Buck Rogers band was plain awful and ridiculous.I remember that episode from Buck Rogers and Get Smart first run.

  • Did that crazy Barbara Feldon. Man, she's one groovy chick. Far out!

  • @wickS2Cher fag

  • i love the old series! (the new movies gay)

  • @MegaElementos I ASKED you not to -- TELL me that.

  • Hehe...funny.....

  • epic!

  • this is like way way out!

  • Hey, groovy man, like, the Groovy Guru has a prototype Apple laptop (0:43) KAOS Style! Dig it baby!!

  • @mazzarellisteve Aw, no man, it's an angled panel with traditional buttons and switches and blinking lights. Had to be reconfigured manually, drill new holes in the metal plate and plug up the old unneeded holes for buttons with metal plug-plates.

  • Hey, groovy man, like, the Groovy Guru has a prototype Apple laptop (0:43) KAOS Style! Dig it baby!!

  • I LOVE THE SACRED COWS !!

  • I LOOOOOVE BARBARA

If you like Barbara Feldon or Agent 99 from Get Smart series, visit my website, look for barbarafeldon webnode, there you will find many photos, videos and information about the actress Barbara Feldon.

  • me too! i can't stop dancing!

  • Max dancing, hehe funny

  • The bad guy has a Apple note book.

  • The bass player on the viewer's left, is none other than Jerry Scheff. Elvis Presley, and The Doors counted on Jerry!

  • Man, what a great sounding fuzz box. All compressed and crunchy, I want one. But I want Agent 99 too.

  • @vampyros1 what a funky name: Sacred Cows. I asked you Not to tell me that!!

  • Good call on both points! Get Smart was an enjoyable show, but this is probably my favourite episode.

  • 99 sure was hippy chick an a hyper babe!

  • RAVE ON!

  • 99 has some cool moves....i'd slide her.

  • To anyone that has seen the whole episode. There are a bunch of kids/young adults who appear at CONTROL's headquarters at around the 4 minute mark. They're dancing and listening to the Sacred Cows' tunes through a gadget that looks remarkably like a Walkman. And I say remarkably because Walkmans didn't come out until 1978 and this episode was made in 1967! Or was I just hallucinating?! Any input would be much appreciated.

  • @Konnoisseur I'm a little late in the game answering. But my guess is they were transistor radios. They were like the Walkman's of 60's.

  • kinda batty dont you think

  • I'd swear that dancing agent with blonde hair is Ken (The White Shadow ) Howard...

  • where can i get this groove??? kool

  • KAOS SWINGS OBEY!

  • I miss watching Get Smart on TV. I love Barbara Feldon's mod clothing!

  • two words....Barbara Felden (that was her name, right?)

  • what season is it?

  • @camberator i believe it is season 3

  • crazy laugh...heh heh heh kool i dig it

  • Rebellion Is Hip!

  • Like Deja Vu All Over Again Man Dig?

  • This groove is fuckin' great!!!

  • this is some sick shit,i mean groovy good can u dig it

  • This is thee best Get Smart episode ever!

  • Groovy, man.

  • I LOVE HATE and I HATE everything else! Couldn't have said it better myself!

  • Dig those Fuzzed-Out Guitars!

  • This show, this episode, and Barbara Feldon rocks!! Makes me wanna bump off a square.

  • 99 my perfect woman

  • I remember this as a kid!!!!!

  • hey,max spinning around to fire (twice) while dancing, was better than 007

  • bishopaz - right on with that! Max did a 007 and outdid 007!

  • i used to love this episode as a kid. always wondered if this was the source of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult's name...

  • Groovy! and 99 is smokin cute!

  • Ok, the guy on the right is Ben Benay, my Dad.. R.I.P Pops.

  • That's cool, he played on all kinds of great records!

  • I love watching max try not to dance and all the signs on the walls :P

    so funny!

  • Egarn from F-Troop aka Cool Cat from Looney Tunes

Great choice of actor from the 1960s

    Also...and I just have to say this...but...

"He's causing teenagers to destroy the world."

  • Could this be more perfect?

And 99's moaning at 1:15 - TOO MUCH!

  • How did you notice that? LMAO!!!!!!!

  • "the old bug in the rug" episode...lmao

  • OMG! I love this show! This is one of my favorite episodes.

  • I have a version of this song by Aussie band - The Painters and Dockers! Awesome, wish I could find the song on cd somewhere, as I only have it on a 12 inch ep.

  • KAOS SWINGS.

    Hahaha, awesome.

  • My radio co-hort Arseniy and I were watching this scene again and wondering: "Hmmm...Are they advocating censorship here?" hahahaha...Sort of giving the impression of: Oh! Those evil hippie-types trying to broadcast their poison to the youth. Oh! Their deviant ways! hahaha...And Max and 99 are the conservative types that are gonna save us all from these evil degenerates! hahaha...Please turn off that laugh track, its annoying...."Oh! Am I suppost to laugh, here?" hahahaha

  • Sort of giving the impression of: Oh! Those evil hippie-types trying to broadcast their poison to the youth."

Considering how many lives were ruined by the idiotic drug culture, they may have had a point.

  • Larry Storch as the Groovey Guru hahahahahaha...

This is the first time I've seen this since the 70's, when all the old TV shows you have to pay for now on specialty channels, were shown for free on the regular channels. Yes, 99 ( Barbara Feldon ) was hot.

  • Gotta agree with comicbook man here,..99 dancing ..AWESOME !!

But did you notice Max's 007 move with the pistol?

This was one of my favorite tv shows when I was a kid..I used to run home from school to watch Get Smart, Green Acres, and Hogans Heros. (Green Acres only because it came on in between the other two)

But even so..ever se the GA episode where he's talking about getting shot down during the war?

He's told to demand to be taken to Stalag 13 and then ask for a chap named Hogan..

  • Wow, dig those groovy lyrics:

"Make the scene: knock off the dean"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bump off the squares"

    "Love is out!"

Gotta wonder if Devo took their cue from this group.

  • Damn yeah some of the best lyrics out there! Thrill thrill thrill! Kill kill kill! Make a scene! Knock off the dean! Yeah yeah yeah! Bump off a square! That's what it's about! Hate is there! Love is out! Kill kill kill! Yeah yeah yeah!
  • OMIGOD!!! 99 dancing! 99 is dancing; that is SO dam hot!!!! I love it when Smart fights, he seems so agile, and it's just neater than Kirk throwing down. Did I mention how awesome it is to see 99 dancing? The finest girl

  • Cool baby! I used to love watching this show. There are a few clues in this clip that Austin Powers may have borrowed the dance moves. Max and 99 were really working it! Ha!

  • I love watching max and 99 dance!!!

  • I loved this episode growing up-- despite being a child of the 80's, it was my first exposure to those "groovy" 60's. I loved Larry Storch in his role, and was terrified that he was going to eliminate them by amplifying the sound of their own heartbeats to the point of killing them.

  • max and 99 always seemed like the origional Mr. & Mrs. Smith. haha

  • I'll bet on them over Brangelina any day!

  • I heard that members of this band went on to play in RF7 and Scratch Bongowax.

  • Kill Kill Thrill Thrill, I love this episode the Groovy Guru

  • George W Bush! I never realised it before, but he has modelled his style on this, the original Agent MAxwell Smart.

  • I'm looking for: Get Smart, The Girls from KAOS

  • Larry Storch from F-Troop? Man this was a great show. I bought Season 2 DVD today. Gonna have to ration so I don't get overloaded. Would you believe?

  • Reminds me of the show Laugh in...only better!

  • Hahah, a great scene from GET SMART where he fights the evil Hippies!

  • 99 is a stone cold fox a la mod style,fo sho

  • Wow, remember this from when I was a kid! Even some of the lyrics, but don't remember the cow outfits.. funny how the brain works.. "pop all the squares,Grow your hair? " thought that was the lyrics all these years.

  • Groovy Guru and Kaos too

  • what show iz this? 0.0

  • Get Smart

  • The music is fantastic. I always thought this group really existed but then I found out they're were just created for this chapter. Pity, they would have had a great success.

  • certainly. ^.^ i would have been a big fan X3

  • he looks like george w. bush.

  • 1:32 Max looks pretty cool in that move. Very Bond like!

  • does 99 even have a real name???

  • the weird thing is even at the wedding they never revealed her real name.

  • Yes, the Admiral snored through it.

  • the Admiral sleeps through everything :D

  • Yes, and it was revealed to be Susan.

  • Recall that she tells Max at the end of the episode that "Susan Hilton" is not her real name.

  • I know she said it, but I'm not sure whether to believe her. Maybe she just said it wasn't her name because Max didn't like it. If she were leaving Control for good, that's when she'd be most likely to use her real name. But maybe not, maybe it was a Witness Protection Program style name. Mrs. Smart is definitely her real name, though.

  • Then perhaps she should have agreed that her name was Ernestine, in order to capture the moment?

  • She SHOULD have. I don't know how she missed a chance like that. She was even dressed in a cute little nurse's uniform at the time. How much more of an opening do you want??

  • Well, she knew what she was doing, even if it took another season. There is a lot to be said for patience. No time to rush into anything, in that emotional moment, with the Chief shot and the KAOS drying up swimming pools!

  • Maybe that was her mistake. Maybe she should have worn a fake mustache earlier.

  • Perhaps; he did say he liked her with it.

  • Yes, it's Mrs. Smart.

  • This became particularly clumsy when she was working at the Knight Stamp Redemption Center.

  • No. It was NEVER revealed. She used the name "Susan Hilton" in the episode "99 Loses Control" and this name has often, mistakenly, been cited in trivia games, etc., as her real name, but she clearly reveals at the end of the episode that this was not her (real)name, just a cover name.

  • "Kill kill kill!" Mel Brooks and Buck Henry were really on a roll.

  • Actually, Brooks and Henry had both left the series by the time this was filmed.

  • Thank you BL, I'm just parroting some crap I read somewhere.

  • Was 99 pregnant?

  • she sure looks like it!

  • No. Barbara Feldon was never pregnant, and the 99 character was not until the fifth season.

  • LUV the dancing lol! :p

  • Love the sign "Kaos Swings" lol

  • The Best !!

  • Gotta love th sacred cows! Groovy Guru - great episode!

  • did "99" use a wig or that was her real hair?

  • First two season were wigs; third season was (generally) her real hair; forth season (I think) was real hair plus extentions; fifth season probably real hair or real hair plus extentions. My opinion: best look was with the wigs!

  • This is real hair in this clip, incidentally.

  • i wonder how many thousands of dollars that Telecaster is worth now ...............!!!

  • jayesonv: The Monkees WERE real musicians, just not a real BAND at first. I've seen Davy Jones Mickey Dolenz, and Peter Tork perform in person - and they were fantastic!

  • Kaos Swings

  • Anyone here recognize Larry Storch of F-Troop fame as the bad guy?

  • What I would like to know is the song "99" done back in the 80's by the group Toto based on agent 99?

  • 99 was a cutie no doubt!

  • Is that a laptop I see on the man's desk?

  • congratulacions...very goody...is the video is the incredible.....

  • Groovy Guru and Kaos Too! Love it!

  • I always thought of the group's name as "The Sacred Kaos", with "Kaos" pronounced like "Cows" but of course spelled like the evil overlordship they served. This may just have been my imagination, since I don't remember their name actually being shown in print anywhere during that episode. Thanks for sharing it!

  • i remember this episode

  • How did that DJ get three MacBooks in 1966?

  • Those aren't MacBooks, and the year is 1968.

  • wish they would of scripted the chief in this scene....boogy on chief!

  • lol, I love Get Smart, so funny hehe

  • No Austin Powers?

  • I love this show. I got the box set for my birthday....and loving it!

  • I just love 99's dancing !!!

  • Was that Baby hot, or what?!

  • Yes she was hot ! 99 seemed to be hotter and I think the sexual tension between her and Max was best before they got married in the Series; etc. Regards.

  • If you have the box set, can you tell me about another LSD scene in the Get Smart series. It's after the twins are born. The Groovy Guru has put LSD in the water supply. Max puts on snow shoes to cross the apartment and tend to the crying twins. Chief is wearing a wig and looks like a woman? Which episode is that? Does anyone know what it is called? I saw it as a kid and it stuck with me and I would like to see it again!

Thanks in advance if you can actually help.

  • It wasn't the Groovy Guru that put the LSD in the water supply, it was Kaos's "Mad Pharmacist" professor Pim (played by Vincent Price). He contaminated the bottled water that Control and the other government agencies drank.

  • Hey thanks Patrick,

Thanks to your comments I was able to track down the episode. It was pretty psychedelic and a real blast from the past. Thanks again for making my day!!!

  • OMG I remember that esipose (however you spell the word) LOL.

  • Thanks for the answers ! cheers!

  • Fantástico, un grupo psicodélico nuevo jaja.

  • kaos swings lol lol

  • Did this episode run around the time of the manson murders ??

  • It pre-dates the Manson murders (1969). This episode HAS to be about 1967 or 1968.

  • I have the lyrics to KILL KILL KILL in a text file on my computer at work in case I get fired.

  • This was pre-Gwar.

  • Nice 60's dancing lol.

  • I love get smart so much!!!!!!!!! This is one of my favorite episodes. I have too many favorite episodes. lol Mel Brooks and Buck Henry make get smart the funniest show ever!! I <3 Get Smart! 99 and Max are so ment to be.

  • please answer this question? is max supposed to be dumb, but suddenly smart at the end all the time? sometimes he can't fight at all, then he's this great fighter. and is the idea also that 99 basically is the 'hero". i'm getting into get smart but unsure of the idea

  • It's a parody of the James Bond movies & the cold war-era. First & foremost, it's supposed to be funny!

  • He's basically an inept spy who manages to stop the bad guys in the nick of time, or by accident, or with the help of 99, as in this clip. He's the hero, and 99 is his assistant. Think of Maxwell Smart as an older Ron Stoppable, and 99 as Kim Possible, only the positions are reversed.

  • I suspect it's a bit less than coincidence that Don Adams did the voice of another inept spy...Inspector Gadget. This role was clearly perfect for him.

  • Sometimes he wins by prowess or by the answer coming to him at the last minute, sometimes by luck, occasionally by 99 saving him. 99 is definitely not the hero (unlike the 99-like Penny in Inspector Gadget). Don't overanalyze it too much. It goes where the joke set ups need it to go.

  • Max is the ultimate clutch player. He does extremely well when it really matters, but simple tasks throw him for a loop. He's the kind who can identify a gun by the sound it makes firing, and then forget how many shots it fired. That makes him more complicated to write than the average TV Buffoon character who's just bad at everything.

  • "But Max, your making a terrible mistake!"

  • and so am I:

"But Max, you're making a terrible mistake!"

  • My favorite episode.

I've probably been singing this song since I saw a rerun at 5 years old lol

Make a scene! Bump off a Dean!
