  • Weak! Was that even Nigel Tufnel on guitar? He didn't have one close up.

  • Greg Bissonette is one drummer they don`t have to worry about exploding on stage lol. It`s good to see Greg`s still out there doing something. He`s a damn good drummer, always liked his work on the first David Lee Roth album Eat`em and smile

  • they should have had artie fufkin introduce the band

  • Only the drummers didn't come back from the dead ;-)

  • Greg Bissonette is a badass drummer...and yes, he is still very much alive :p

  • 4 people not come back from the dead :P

  • They needed a fake accident where they had to replace the drummer again.

  • how many hours did the drummer live after this performance?

  • wHO DID THE STROBE LIGHTS FOR THIS PERFORMANCE. WOOOOOOW!!!

  • I thought their drummer died in a horrific gardening accident..or did he choke on vomit..someone elses vomit.

  • @coolhandluke621 The police said "best leave it unsolved..."

  • @coolhandluke621 "Yes, well, it's difficult to tell really.....I mean you can't 'dust for vomit' can you?"

  • derek small with his big cucumber is the man!

  • As soon as I heard "mid-dead crisis" I couldn't stop laughing

  • Watched that and all things Spinal Tap with sheer delight rising up in me heart. Freakn so awesome!

  • typical rockband ..egos too big to do their old stuff ;)

  • Glad to see they left the pods at home.

  • not nearly enough juvenile sexual innuendo in this song for my liking.

  • n 2002, This Is Spinal Tap was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

  • it would have been awesome if the drummer "exploded" at the end lol

  • Oh man! The drummer is dead! lol!

  • HELLO CLEVELAND!!!!

  • My God, is that Gregg Bissonette on drums? I hop HE doesn't spontaneously combust!

  • oh.my.God. is that Morris from the x - files?!

  • minutes later, drummer decapitated by faulty lighting..

  • I love these guys. I wish after the movie they had released more albums. Everyone here should buy this, I know I will!

  • @gamer025 you do realize that they're not a real band. they tour, but they're a joke band... sort of like dethklok or sons of butcher.

  • the frogmice inn 11

  • Go, Nigel, go!!

  • im surprised the drummer didnt spontaneously combust!! LOL

  • I like this piece...They've been fooling around with it for a few months now, I really like it. They're really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and this is really, you know, the two of them...it's a "Mach" piece really. I think they should have called it "Lick My Love Pump"...

  • Very 11 from the Tap !

  • literally, up and smoke

  • d minor is the sadest of all keys

  • Great Drumming... I hope he never dies...

  • I'd just like to pay respects to the drummer who died just minutes after the performance by a runaway Volvo driven by none other than Lars Olfen!

    R.I.P. Spinal Tap Drummer #45.9

  • a purple haze fog machine

  • sound's like enter sandman

  • needs more cowbell....oops! wrong skit...

  • @jfenner38 LOL!!!!!!! Guys, your gonna want that cowbell!

  • 70th-ish drummer?

  • is the drummer dead yet? ^^

  • all the smoke. haha that happened to us once...frikin hilarious

  • One plays well, not good. Look into it. It's the difference between an adverb and an adjective. I suggest this:

A Grammar Book for You and I (Oops, Me): All the Grammar You Need to Succeed in Life, by C. Edward Good.

  • Really? Was that neccisary?

Oh no! should i buy a dictionary now?

  • That smoke machine is set to 11 =)

  • Yeah this one goes to 11 :D

  • lol, all you see are fog and lights.

  • Fads come, fads go, but the TAP still rule ! !

  • Chris Guest is classically trained as well as a spectacular ear player. Mike McKean started playing guitar as a kid, Shearer is, from what I know, is pretty much self-taught, although he did study piano as a kid. So the answer is: all have some musical training, but not as much as you'd think. They are just comedic geniuses.

  • They're actually really skilled songwriters any players. Anyone know what kind of musical training they've had?

  • It's a shame you have got the bit where they mistake Paul for a gay publicity guy with Polymer Records.

  • WTF, Greg Bissonette on the drums is soo great!! But why is he still alive :-D

  • A: He's A Professional, and

B: He's not a character played by an actor.

Only Spinal Tap drummers who are not professionals and are fictional characters suffer the "Drummer's Curse"

  • Lol, hope he dosent spontaniously explode or die in a freak gardening accident that athorities say is better off unsolved.

  • the fog machine was set to 11

  • ftw!!!!! :>:>:>:>

  • @Matt561 no, they made the jump into infinity now

  • @Matt561

    LOL!

  • classic

  • I miss Viv...

  • if spinal tap asked me to be their drummer i'd say yes even though i know it would be the end of me.

  • haha

  • Christopher Guest has a small cameo at the end of Death Wish with Charles Bronson. He plays the cop and he looks so young. Check it out. Or maybe I'll upload it...

  • Harry,Mike and Christopher are Geniuses

  • solo reminded me of his solo from the original. just missing the violin

  • I love those blast beats at the end of the song.

  • Where?

  • just like spinal tap too much fog hilarious

  • Not the funniest film on DVD - it's the funniest film ever. IMHO Stonhenge is a masterpiece.

  • I guess the fog machine goes up to 11 ;D

  • Nope! Up to infinity!

  • @jajahatt hahahahahahahahaha

  • @jajahatt LMAO!!!!!!!

  • lmao i couldnt see the drummer once, except for close ups

  • how much more fog? The answer is none. None more fog.

  • I have been a fan of Spinal Tap since the movie first came out and think Christopher Guest is a comic genius. I have never met any one in the U.S. that didn't realize what Spinal Tap was, a spoof of all rock bands who take themselves to seriously. AnthemicPolemic must know some really stupid people

  • Great!

  • turn it up to 11:D

  • hahahaha....a Spinal Tap Fog! Perfect!! :)

  • Im suprised the fill at 0.57 didn't finish him off!

  • LOL I get it. XD

  • This is totally Bitchn'

  • i love how there's so much fog you can barely see them hahaha

  • what ever happend to the keyboard player

  • I like the drums, but I guess as usual, the drummer is just temporary.

  • he turned into a litto' green globuole...

  • hahahahaha another drummer?

  • Greg Bisonette. Haven't sontanously combusted yet:) Seriously, he is one of the masters.

  • No shit? That's Greg Bisonette? Late of hair-rockers Mr Big and Diamond David Lee Roth's backing band?

  • Greg Bisonette did not play for Mr. Big, he replaced Billy Sheehan after he left DLR Band and formed Mr.Big

  • I bought This is Spinaltap on VHS at a yardsale 2 days before i saw this episode of Letterman on TV. Kinda creapy if you ask me. its like Spinaltap was watching me, waiting for be to buy This is Spinaltap before they released their new album

  • better than Stonehenge

  • Is it just me or does Christopher Guest look a bit like Mickey Rourke from the Wrestler at 3:10?

  • That's Michael McKean at 3:10, not Christopher Guest.

  • That's Michael McKeane...

  • the smoke machine is set to 11

  • thats fuckin hilarious!

  • And the spirits reinhabit their castaway bodies of yore... don't say I didn't warn you!!

    *Guitar solo*

  • did he say, " it's not too hard to avoid a mid death crisis."?

    i love this

i'm going to see them play tonight unplugged!

  • LMAO yeah the fog is cranked here. I kept waiting for the stonehenge monument to lower and for the drummer to spontaneously combust at the end.

These guys are just so great, one of the funniest movies ever made.

  • Badass. i love how they almost drowned in the smoke

  • does anyone else listen to spinal tap just like any other band?

i know theyre fake and all.. but still lol

  • I listen to them...I bought their "black album" and, actually, I think their songs are worth listening to in their own right. "Stonehenge" in my mind stands up to the world's better prog-rock songs (as long as you can get the images out of your mind of a bite-sized Stonehenge and dwarves taking flight). In fact, just now I listened to song samples from their remastered "Break Like the Wind" album on Amazon and it sounds great--I'm going to buy it! I'm a simple man...

  • You might be a simple man but you have good taste in movies and music. Its just so cool in its own quirky, faux - pompous way.

I like being simple. Its less complicated than like......... hard stuff.

  • Hell yeah, i love them.

i love Break Like The Wind thats an awesome album.

Since they wrote the music i still like to think of them as a real band.

  • They are a "real band". They are just fictional characters in a real band. It annoys me when people say the band is fake.

  • They are real in so far as they write and perform their own music. But they are a parody of themselves and glam rock. A lot of people in the US were convinved by the 'rockumentary', didn't get the humour, and just thought they were a crap rock band.

  • You, my friend, are retarded if you think people in the U.S. were convinced by the rockumentary and didn't get the humor. Know about a thousand people in the U.S. that know what Spinal Tap and none take it seriously. Try surrounding yourself with folks educated beyone the third grade.

  • What, in the US?

  • As wrong as wrong can be

  • Why didn't they put it up to 11? Or at least make 10 louder? Spinal Tap rulez!!!!

  • ......... these go to eleven.

  • "Just listen to that sustain... well... it's not on right now, but if it was!"

  • Don't touch! Just listen!

  • No! Don't even look at it!

    (nice user name btw lol)

  • Well the new amplifier Nigel Tuff is using now goes to infinity.

  • im surprised that the drummer didnt spontaneously combust at the end.

  • hahahahahahah mee too. i wonder if nigel actually got large bread backstage :P

  • Don't worry, I'm sure he choked on someone's vomit backstage in the green room...but they don't know who's vomit he choked on...

  • yeah. you really cant dust vomit

  • Mick Fleetwood is one of their only surviving drummers. He wore a fire retardant suit during a recording session. :)

  • fuck the napkin! :D

  • The fog machine was set on eleven

  • :-DDDDDD good one

  • LOL!! Bestes comment winner!

  • You can all lick my love pump, and no, I won't let it affect my performance... I will rise above it!

  • THE GREATEST BAND THAT NEVER EXISTED

  • I bet they did the fog machine on purpose just like the movie because there always something going wrong when they perform.

  • OMG hahahahaha "we're back from the dead/ and ready for bed" HAHAHA

  • lol@back from the dead, and ready for bed.

  • Hey, that's Artie Fufkin at the end of the video!

  • good call! I never saw this episode. Did they comment about Paul Schaeffer's role in the movie at all?

  • That wasn't Paul Schaeffer. It was Marty Fuffkin!

    ...Kick my ass!!!

  • It's ARTIE, you great TWONK.

  • Twonk this you Jackhole.

  • Christopher Guest is great at doing Nigel

  • The fog machine goes to eleven.

btw, "Why not make ten louder and make that the top number and make it a little louder?"

    "..................These go to eleven."

  • loool, That Fog machine is custom made !!

  • i love spinal tap but bad news were before!

  • hard to get that tune out of my head. It's like a melodious spike driven through my temple.

  • Back from the Dead is probably the best come from behind music of the decade. I am not sure why they chose Letterman to promote their music. I think they should ask Arsenio to do one guest host appearance and be on that show. There are some things in life that deserve repeats or at least to come back from the dead.

  • is that Greg Bissonette on Drums?

  • i love Christopher Guest's guitar because it looks different and sounds good

  • Two words for this song: Shit Sandwich.

  • Thats not real! you cant print that!

  • Thank god it's in Dubley.

  • great band and song

  • Such a catchy tune.

  • THAT FOG MACHINE GOES TO ELEVEN!!!

  • "damn guys, we've better set those fog machines to high, don't want anyone to get distracted by my second chin." -David Ivor St. Hubbins

  • Tenacious D owe it all to the Tap, England's loudest band.

  • Spinal tap is not even really from England.

  • no shit

  • they're straight out of HELL!

  • was that stumpy joe?

  • I've been hooked on this tune lately. That chorus is great. Catch my self singing that

  • i love nigels guitar

  • Not only do they play the songs, they write them too. These guys are kick ass.

  • I know this sounds stupid, but do Harry Shearer and the rest of the gang actually know how to play their own instruments?

  • All of 'em. Isn't that great?!

  • Well, they play them, and they cherish them...Just DON'T TOUCH THEM! DON'T EVEN POINT!

  • Is this in dobly.

  • no, it's in dubly

  • they need to re-re-relase the movie back to theaters again! bet it would smash everything in boxoffice history!

  • Voice still sounds good!

  • This sounds like Part 2 of Stonehedge; I am just waiting for the dwarves to start dancing!

  • Hah! Been looking for a live version for about four years now, completely missed this.

    Thanks

  • the drummer is Gregf Bisonette

  • Awesome Song and Great Players...Love the Drummer!!!

  • The fog machine was turned to 11.

  • lol

  • awesome!

  • greatest comment EVER!!!

  • are you an idiot? read description.

  • There's even a small cameo appearance by Artie Fufkin , at 4:03.

  • Kick my ass..go on kick it

  • you cant kill what doesnt die
