  • BTW what the heck shoes are you wearing, mate? They look a tad skimpy for a 130hp bike.....

  • i love the sprint st - i hope triumph will go down with the price now that the gt is out!

  • @zagor1974 I like my older Sprint ST modified like an RS. It's slightly smaller and I love the curves more. Got a Powermax under tail exhaust, 18t sprocket, Laminar Lip.

    Nice wheelie BTW.

  • Dang you made it look so easy

  • Hey, nice vid and nice skills. I'm almost dead set on this bike being my next motorcycle but I have one queston. I'm pretty sure this video answers my question but I'll ask anyway. Does the Sprint st have a quick response throttle or did you have to "dump the clutch" on this vid? I hope it does have the quick resonse on it. Thank you for your help.

  • @jcthedrummer The throttle response is fast, sure, but in this video (and mostly when I wheelie) I clutch the bike up. Makes for much better wheelies that way.

Wouldn't quite call it "dumping" the clutch though, I just feather it. It's easy to hear.

  • great wheelie Peter. I own this bike with trident exhaust I have regeared it to 18/43 from 19/45 since my posted video.

  • I've done a lot of research trying to find my next bike (current bike is an '86 V45 Honda Magna), and this is definitely the one. I was thinking of the Honda VFR800 interceptor as well, but the Sprint's standard hard bags ($1000 more for bags on VFR) and lack of V-TEC (read: annoying power hiccup) make it superior in my mind. Plus, the headlights, cockpit, and pipes look awesome. From what I've seen, fit and finish of the Sprint are just as good as the Honda.

  • Going Triumph is something I can recommend. I had a Speed Triple 955i last year, and boy was that a sweet bike! The best streetfighter I've ever ridden. I still love that 3-cyl engine, it is the perfect compromise. It still has sort of the revs of an inline-4, and it still has sort of the torque of the v-twin. Rode a Super Duke a while back, and it just felt like it had nothing to give after some revs. The Triple keeps pushing to redline.

    Good luck with your purchase!

  • hi, i love this bike and i have a question (wich is very important to me..) i'm 190 cm tall, and i'm thinking on getting it, so the questions is this, is it confortable for tall people like us??? what about other similar bikes???

    thx

    stay safe

  • Well, I'm 6'7.5" (202cm) and I found it comfortable. But hey, I'm still young and flexible so I don't find bikes uncomfortable that often.

At 190cm I don't think you would suffer on a Sprint ST. Other similar bikes to look at could be the Honda VFR800 (or the 1200 if you have the money) to name one. Good luck with your buy!

  • thank u very much for your answer.

    See u on the road

  • Still loving mine almost 3 years later. Definately gets better with a few miles on the motor. Only issue is the traveling with such a small number of dealerships available. Many dealerships will not work(put a tire on) brands other than the ones they sell. This is the only thing that would keep me from buying another triumph.

  • I've a red one. we eat japanese bikes every day, hehehehe.

    Nice wheelie, man!

  • Picking up my 2008 Blue one next week. :-) Read so many good things about this bike, trouble is It's my 1st so i'll prob be spoiled a bit. Great Wheelie! (I won't be doing any of those for a looong time hahah. Gr* Bike for..everything, more torque than a bandit 1200 (&hp) great great bike :-)

  • Starting off with a liter I-3 for your first bike? Do yourself a favor and get some sliders mate.

You picked a big (read: heavy) powerful bike to start off with.

  • Yeah this was my first non-dirtbike too. Heavy as hell... I think in the long run that probably helped my skills.

  • I was close to getting one of these but in the end got a ZX-14. It's about 10lbs heavier (dry) than the Sprint, but while it IS heavy (compared to the SV650 I started on) I was surprised by how light it feels. You don't really feel the weight unless you get close to dropping it and have to catch it, or trying to turn too quickly.

  • "Oo-kay"

  • I haved an 05 Blue one (the fast color) I put the 18 tooth on teh front and the TOR can Tor Map on she sings and run fast. Its a fun bike

  • Very nice Bike and wheelie . How long is Rider ? ( 2 m ? )

  • 202cm TALL, how "long" I am is a completely different topic... :P

  • hahaha nice. sweet bike man.

  • hahaha, yup, it is lol xD

  • I have a red RS, I describe it more as a sewing machine at idle/crusing speed but with my Jardine pipe it really roars at 3k rpm.

    Very fun bike...

  • I cant't hear any vacuum cleaner's sound here? Only Triumph's sound. Maybe I saw a wrong clip? So easy wheelie! I wish I could do the same so easily. Skillful driver there. Good!

  • Cool! It sounds great - is that the standard can or the sports can?

  • Standard.

  • Wow, awesome sound and a very neat and smooth wheelie.

  • It sounds like vacuum cleaner... if thats the case, iv`e got the fastest vacuum cleaner in the world!! 168 mph.

  • It sounds like vacuum cleaner...

  • hmmm. maybe thats because you do all the house work at home instead of getting out on a british bike?!

  • that happens when it sucks in a sonic boom (the sound of speed)it then chews it up and shits out an invisible flame that melts people. especially ones that make lame comments like you just did. :p

  • Hmm, Ive got da 99 version, but please tell me, do you just hit the clutch shortly ,or do you bring it up straight in the first gear? Looks nice, very...

  • As it says in the description, I was just testing it out when our local store had some models for testing.

But, bringing it up in first is easy without clutch. Just give it alot of throttle and it'll come up nice and easy at about 8-9000 or something. If you use your body it's even easier.

I use the clutch in this video though. I like getting it up earlier so you've got more revs to play with. Using the clutch is also very controllable!

  • nice wheelie dood.

I have the same bike. its awesome.

  • Me too but mine is silver. Did you know the silver ones are faster?

  • yes mine is the faster silver too. the wheelies are much bigger too. sis you notice that?

  • Blues are closer to ultraviolet, which has a higher tranversal portfolio than silver.

  • sounds great! wish i could do that on mine.

  • Maybe that is why sooo many dealer hear on the east coast don't let you test drive bikes??
