  • Better mix that the mono one on the boxed set....thought that was what the boxed set was all about....guess not.

  • The Beatles....um, I think I've heard of them.

  • REVERB!! I searched for years for this version!!! thanks.

  • The 6th Beatles' to go No. 1 in just a year's time: I Want To Hold Your Hand, She Loves You, Can't Buy Me Love, Love Me Do, A Hard Days Night and this. I was 10 that year. Coupled with all the other British talent on display, and the emergence in Detroit of the Temptations, Supremes and Four Tops, and the continued success of the Beach Boys and Four Seasons, there was probably never a better year -music wise- to be a young person.

  • This is the way the song sounded in 1965 and it's terrific!! The mono masters fall quite short in Capitol's attempt to reproduce the song.

  • Watch Your Step - Bobby Parker (1961)

  • Dang ! ! Great sound. Great band. Great collection. Thanks for sharing. Always makes my day, full of great memories of better times. Thanks ! !

  • @M3town33 Right, Dave Dexter Jr., producing for Capitol in the U.S., had better instincts for the reverb.

  • @GeorgeCrosley I don't know who made the whole lot of the Captiol's, but this is something I gotta have, I might get the Capitol Beatles Albums!

  • The mono mixes are the best, esp this one! The hell with their lousy CD releases. They do nothing but screw them up.

  • God, that reverb sounds horrendous being used to the 'UK' version for so long.

  • Spencer, do you ever clean your old records with wood glue or a special solution?

  • Until buying "The Capitol Albums Volume 1" CD box set here in the UK, I confess to having never heard the U.S. mixes of either this or "She's A Woman" with the added reverb. They sounded strange on the first listen, but the wierd thing is, the enhancement makes the songs sound better.

  • Yep. This is exactly how I remember this song being played on WABC by the great Dan Ingram. The true reverb version rules!

  • @Stoned69 Didn't WABC always add extra reverb of its own in those days? I can only imagine how this must have sounded there.

  • Hey mate, do you by any chance have the original mono mix of Get Back/Don't Let Me Down? If you do, can you post a video of it? I'll subscribe just in case you post it sometime. I would'nt want to miss it!

  • I love the reverb. Grew up with these 45s. Thanks for posting.

  • Sound great your 45RPM. Thanks so much for share this one!

  • The intro.. Paul plucks a note on his bass and streaches the string in front of his VOX amp... It was to be cut from the session.. Martin thought it was an instant hook.. Thus, the 'feedback' was a trademark of this big hit from the American LP release; Beatles '65 / UK release of "The Beatles For Sale"...
