That is not a Komodo Dragon. It is a Black and White Tegu, probably Argentine. Yes, Komodo Dragons saliva is toxic from all the bacteria, but it has been proven (circa 2005) that they produce venom, similar to a Gila Monster. It is a hemotoxin that disrupts blood clotting. Do some research on your own instead of telling people they are wrong because "granddaddy" said so. If my grandfather told me the world was flat, it doesn't make it true. It just means he "assumes" it is.

Tegu's grow up to 6 feet in length and are widely available on the pet trade. Babies are cheap but they become very expensive to keep once they get larger, feeding on a blend of animals and fruits/vegetables.

The Red Tegu is mainly herbivorous though, which makes it one of the few herbivorous lizards on earth. Do some research, google is your friend.
