Yay! Another 5 star for you. I got to hear the 5th letter and it was all Good. Like a mini movie playing in my head. I have enjoyed all your Daddy's letters so far and I look forward to the next one. Thanks and God Bless! ~Andree'
It truly is amazing how your reading of these letters makes the years just melt away and I'm right there next to your dad in 1943... Thanks for doing this entertaining series, Jim!
The letters are so great! I am so glad you have them. It's so interesting to see how he coped with being shuttled around and not really knowing what was ahead for him. My dad was in the Marines and did some drill instructor time at Paris Island. That is how we were raised!
How wonderful to still have such cherished letters, after all those years! This is the first in your series that I've watched. Now, I off to watch the rest in your Playlist! Thanks for sharing the family history! :+)
Just so interesting Jim. I'm really enjoying hearing about your Dad and his times during the war. LOL at kids still hitting mom and dad up for money. Hugs!
Hey Marc. Oh thanks for finding that information. It's amazing that an ink pen was such an expensive luxury back then. Glad you're enjoying the letters and thanks for watching! -Jim
So he got sent to Noth Carolina...I have been to that base. Lol... So he changed his mind about being Drill Master sounds like it has some good perks. These are so special!
Hey JoJo. Yeah, I guess once he realized the drill master got some perks, he changed his mind or maybe didn't have a choice. Thanks for watching! -Jim
I got to missing my home town this week. This letter from your father is a comforting voice to anyone who misses an era that will never come again. It's a gift.
@robertpina99 Hey there Robert. Thank you so much for following along on this series. It really is comforting to follow along on this series of letters. -Jim
Hello Jim, Thank you again for sharing the Letters..... Is it a possibility that maybe you can make a memoir book (autobiography) in Hardbook? So the Family can keep? So very special... **Treasure**
@SWTPEA64 Hey Joe. Thank you so much for following along. I'm publishing the text version in a blog for the family and might also put them in bound written form. Thanks for the suggestion! Take care. Jim

I'm loving these, Jim. From what I can gather, the first ballpoint pens sold in the US were $12.50 or $147 by today's standards.
