@dma3754 Arcanum was surprisingly really good. Despite the low graphics, the storyline was one of the best in any games. And the voicing and music for the game was phenomenal.

@edmundtyrone Thanks, now I will probably buy the game. As for Fallout, I didn't get it from GOG, and never got the patches. Now that I know they remove the time limit, I will look for those, and will probably play that again. When I go to college, I won't be able to take my Xbox, so I will only be able to play PC games. So this is really helpful for me, thanks a lot.

@edmundtyrone I saw the game on GOG as well, and have considered buying it. I really liked Fallout, but I didn't like the time limit they forced on you. Is there any of that in this game as well, or can you take your time and enjoy the game?

Great game. Works perfect on my Windows XP. Havent had a game crash with this game on my pc. Used latest game patch, no mods.

Lots of replay value here. There are just so many combinations to explore. Not only trying different main characters but also different followers. Or no followers at all! Some reviewers miss that a game editor was included and the game also had a (very limited) multi-player support.

god do i love this game. was so awesome when it came out. they should remake. same everything just new graphics. i played through about 6 times and still had fun each time. the different ways to play through was amazing. like no other game ive played.

yes this was a very fun game. The questing , leveling , crafting. Its all very fun if you're into great single player RPGs. Story is pretty good too.

check out star wars rebellion too if you are into a good RTS star wars games. Its old but I think the gameplay is unrivaled for its time it didn't get the credit it deserved. u can DL it by googling the iso too :) and u can play it online via hamachi!

I payed 50 bucks for it when it was brand new, and then had to turn around and upgrade my memory so the game wouldn't run as choppy.

I was talking to my son today, who is addicted to a future of having the ultimate PC gaming machine; about how it is an impossible goal. As soon as you have something that will run everything, the next year you will be where you started. Unable to run the new games you want.

But at least we know today what to expect. I've had at least ten machines and just as many nvidia cards and an ati or two that never did the job it said it would.

I wish people would just say, "Enough is enough, make something on this hardware we aren't buying a new pixel shader. All kinds of consoles have had games that magically look like the hardware has been upgraded so clearly new hardware requirements on PC games are out of laziness and greed."

@Twisted86 Anyways, game is pretty interesting and a lot of fun so long as you are smart when making your character, I usually have to restart once or twice until I make a effective character that I enjoy playing. Technology is basically a crafting system to make cool items.

@Twisted86 Magic doesn't have a crafting system (which i think it should have, since scrolls + potions exist in game) but it gives you a wide selection of spells, although while there is something like 15 schools of magic, I think you gotta stick to 3 schools or less if you wanna get better spells in a reasonable amount of time. Technology has something like 8 disciplines, and a similar idea with sticking to fewer disciplines to get the better stuff without taking too long.

What turned me onto the game was that it came from some of the same people who worked on Fallout 1 and 2. So, I was sold on it before I saw this trailer.

Aye, I have all the fallouts that will run on wine, as well as Arcanum. My collection tends to be post-apocalyptic, steampunk, cyberpunk and a few far-future combat games. Course right now I'm stuck on Tabula Rasa, so with a good MMO on my playlist there's not as much time for my older games as there used to be.

Arcanum was a great game, hada great plot, and had several good rpg qualities. Similar in gameplay style to Fallout. I love Technology vs. Magic theme that pervaids most of the game.
