  • skytoast1, your work is AMAZING!!! thanks for all the tips for my next SCIV video, but if u would like to see some real-life apple slicing action... check out my NEW youtube video: "KATANA APPLE CUT"!!!

  • WELL DAMN

    That was fucking amazing dude

  • do a amy machinima

  • Rofl!!!! Setsuka

  • Hey sky toast! Plan on making a video with SC5?

  • @Mamoru0Hasukage Absolutely if possible. Hopefully the in-game camera stays intact and/or hoping for better controls and replay. BUT... we're not done with SCIV just yet. I know a lot of you have been waiting, in the process of moving so I cant finish right now. Soon as I settle in my priority will be to complete SCIV machinima project.

  • Well thats cool that you got something in the works, I look forward to it. My suggestion is for 5 (if the cc is alot better and fix what I hope) ever thought of making one based on your own character? Perhaps they have a beef with a sc character? Perhaps they are simply in search of one of the blades? Just a thought, i most certainly am in the process of trying such a thing.

  • @Mamoru0Hasukage I've thought about that as others have suggested that as well. But right now I want to concentrate on the main characters first as each episode will focus on their specific plotline and/or background. I usually mix my own characters in there as sub characters. The closest thing to an original series I've done would be the silent X-mas episode revolving around Santa Klaus & Rudolfo kicking shit out of the original character cast.. lol Maybe we'll see a final episode this xmas

  • Ok, so you have xD. Well keep up the good work.

  • nice, I just searched for mitsu machinima bc I was playing the soul calibur 1 on xbla, really well done

  • I like this film. I think you did one hell of job. Please make one with Tira in... pretty plzzzz..... = D. P.S I subscribed you

  • How do you made this Video? `This perspective is not in the Game...

  • @Wylahk Machinima

  • Im pissed off that Mitsurugi is not finishing combos.

  • boring...

  • I have a question I am a guy who likes tto make tons of soul calibur characters but I have never seen that ninja mask... how do you get it or which character do you have to buy?

  • @r33dm0nk3y you have to win a total of 10 multiplayer matches.

  • Omg, you're so good at this game. xD I've been playing it since it's release and I keep seeing you do moves I've never seen before in all of your videos :P

  • Wait what-?

    How-?

    But-?

    Ah... Nevermind.... awsome.

  • Thank you and feel Awsome!

    It's an excellent edit technique.

  • 0:35 did anyone stop and think, "Wait, what?"

  • Nice. Is it coming out soon? it's been a year since release!~

  • Nice job, man! I admit, though: I was WAITING to hear Taki say SHOU-KEN!! She sounds JUST LIKE Sakura when she goes SHOU-!

  • i think this was one of the only videos i watched to the end

  • nice job man. that was EPIC

  • how were you able to film this?

    any specific program?

  • I know I've commented before, but I just thought I'd say, I also like how you linked the scene changes between characters (e.g. Mitsurugi's enemy falls, and then Taki's enemy gets back up.)

  • i like

  • Brilliant! It was like a propper movie (I liked how you included Hagakure!)

  • You've done so much with so little! These promos must have taken AGES!!! All of these story arcs which you've created using the limited creative features (i.e. deficient cutscenes and the lack of a promo generator) that the game provides is downright amazing. It's great to see these character storylines the way they were MEANT to have been fleshed out in the first place (lazy NAMCO). All in all, fantastic work!

  • lmao dian wei xD from Dynasty warriors

  • is that a game-mod on soul calibur IV or did you create this?

  • Dude, I just gotta say, YOU ROCK!!! Creative enough to show you have the talent, but not so artsy-fartsy, self indulgent to go over everyone's head and leave them saying "what the fuck was that!?!" And while not on the level of a ryona video, ( I remember our exchange regarding that sub-genre) there is still an element of titillation. I said it before, I'll say it again: I'd like to see what you could do with a big budget to do your own original material.

  • How did you make this?

  • OMG...I friggin' love this!

  • This get's put onto my ipod.

  • great video!

  • This is just plain badass. Good camera angles. And I can't imagine how much hard work was put into making each character.

  • Can you create characters like a Shinigami from Bleach or a ninja in this game?. I'm not requesting anything, just asking if there are clothes to do that in the game.

  • i find that very refreshing, you my friend are the only person i know to perfect a soul calibur 4 machinima. thank you for this.

  • Masterful!

  • Gr8 work just came here through 8WR.

Nice camera angles you made the fighting look really fluid. And having multiple people on screen looked really cool too :p

  • that was excellent, so well put together- especially the transistion of area/scenes when mitsurugi was knocked back

  • Cool...was that bald dude Dian Wei at the beginning?

  • Dynasty Warrior/Romance of the Three Kingdoms? I didn't have him in mind when I created this. But I guess that would fit.. lol

  • @skytoast1 Well, the 3 Kingdoms took place in the year 200s, while Soul Calibur is the 1500s, I believe.

  • @DarkAdonisVyers hah.. yes of course! SCIV was 1590 A.D. long ways off...

  • Here is a fun fact: It is a common miss conception that the romance of the three kingdoms is all history. This is not the case at all. The romance of the three kingdoms is much like onimusha in the sense that is historic fiction. This is only thought as history due to to dynasty and samurai warriors (due to samurai warriors having exact people who existed where as half the cast in romance of the three kingdoms never did).

  • where do you get your japanese music from?

  • All the music I use in these films are listed in the rolling credits at the end - from soundtrack from the Soul series of games.

  • How do i turn captions on?

  • Bottom right icon with the triangle or arrow pointing up. Then toggle CC icon.

  • Love ALL your SC4 videos my friend!!!!

    You get 5***** stars!!!!!!

Also sorry for my ignorance but, can anyone tell me what does "machinima" means?

  • I think machinima is when you use a game to create a movie/scene or any kind of storyline, even a news-show. Like "inside gaming". Often multiplayer-games like Halo are used. :D

  • basically making movies out of video games

  • That was so amazing! I loved every minute of it! :

  • this is fucking amazing!!!

  • This is great. If only they hadn't discarded the 10 extra weapon styles from SCIII. You would've had so many more options for your custom ninjas.

  • so fricking awesome.......

how did you do all this? it´s incredible!

  • Great post production!! : )

I need a decent capture card now!! xD

  • heard bout this from a friend being very good now i see it was. always to watch a decent machinima

  • thanks for the compliment, if you enjoyed this watch the sequal above.

  • mitsurigi has always been my favorite character

  • you to get need paid for this stuff

  • hehe, I would get in trouble if I did. No I do this for fun and for all the fans out there. Soul Calibur has always been my favorite fighting game series and its a pleasure being able to pay tribute by working on this. It's fan made film but I try to stay close to canon as much as possible unless its a side story or a parody.

  • what does canon mean?

  • it means sticking with the official "genuine" storyline/timeline

  • thank you!

  • you have my respect skytoast1! excellent work! looking forward to see the prequel :)

  • Actually it'll be more of a sequel but I guess you can call it a prequel as well since it will have elements in its story that refer to what happened in the past before the film above. I'm working on it now and its coming along just fine. I hope all of you will like it when its released.

  • 0:37

  • fu*k ya !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW so awesome!

  • Reaally good job.

I was really impressed with the camera work you did there.

How did you get those angles? I thought we were only free to move the camera while in replay mode. Did you do all of this "camera stuff" in replay mode? There's another way to play with the camera?

P.S. I did the same question in the 8wr forum. So, if you could anwer one of them. Thanks!

  • Yes you're correct about the camera. All the SC videos I've done were made using replays in training mode. The challenge is getting the right shot with the limited time you have (about 7-8 secs). It loops so you can position camera around. But choreographing the fight sequences and making it seamless takes quite bit of work and patience. But after making all these films now, I've gotten the hang of it & discovered some tricks as well. The camera works well with this genre (fighting game).

  • Humm, Really interesting.

I''ll try it out, to see what I can learn and do with it.

    Thanks!

  • Man skytoast1 you did it again another awesome video perfectly made i love it!Last time we talked you told me that you were making this video so i wanted to ask you how about one with Cervantes and Ivy... or you are workin already on somthin else...? :P

  • the next video (which is currently being worked on) will be the sequel to this one. I dont know when I'll be bringing Cervantes and Ivy back but most likely will be involved with Shura story arc if I go ahead with it. I plan to rework Cassandra's Training in HD next and then some other projects I previously planned.

  • I understand so keep up the good work i can't wait to watch your next video!!!:P

  • i am SOOOOO waiting for the next part!

  • AMAZING EDITING!

Despite seeing the individual moves zillions of times, the editing made it really, well, captivating.

  • its very good. i didnt really understand the story, but your editing was excellent. i will reccomend it.

  • That was great! You have great editing skills and dedication. Good job. :)

  • This is very great and I like the way you put more characters on the stage! ^^

  • WOW... Skytoast, you have a real talent here. You make the fighting so real and smooth... I've always dreamed of making video game footage like this, and still do. but know i can jus watch your work.

I didn't get the story at 1st but the credits summed up everything for me. can't wait til Setsuka gets in the mix, but still hope to see my girl Taki in your future movies.

  • You pretty muhc outdid your previous works with this. Great job!

    Looking forward to the continuation.

  • That was excellent as usual for you SkyToast! You did a great job especially with mixing the 3 characters or more into one frame, that was amazing. The fight scenes were stunning! I look forward to the next video you make in this series. I love Setsuka <3 Haha.

  • very well done man! those are very good looking custom characters and I'm glad to see you incorperating some of the more obscure attacks and more complex combos in this. Good editting, good choice of angles and choreography! I completely forgot you told me you were already working on what I suggested, so to see this this morning was a very delightful surprise! Man I just want to play this game again after seeing all that epic action!

  • This Machinma is just like an epic Soul Calibur Sengoku movie!

  • great 5/5

  • Please turn on captions to watch with subtitles (if you so desire). Also as a side note, if after switching to HD the subtitles appear in the center of the screen, toggle off and on captioning to correct it back to the bottom of the screen.
