I have read it..at least 4 times..he was an amazing man, I have nothing but admiration for him..I know if I was in his situation I would not have had half his courage.
Those who dismiss him as being arrogant and difficult are missing the point completely.
Yes he was gutsy and his determination was inspirational.
But the other side of the coin is that manifested as self-opinonated & obstinate.
Now you might want to argue that 's a price worth paying. But who paid? Bader was very influential in the RAF adopting the 'big wing' concept. He 'bigged it up' afterward. But a lot of fighter pilots reckoned it was unbelievably stupid and could have resulted in the Luftwaffe getting the upper hand.

I'm so impressed with this upload. I read 'Reach For The Sky' when i was young and Bader became something of a hero for me.
Never thought i'd be able to hear him speak!
