I used to drive these at the local ski area. We used them for pulling pipeline and towing welders. I used to stand them right on end pulling sometimes or if the trail was really steep that i was going down. Three of them had 318 chrysler engines with 4speeds and manual clutches for steering. One machine did have a 4cyl cummins and was fitted with hydrolic ram steering. Felt like i was driving a football on tracks. These were awesome in mud too and could carry 10 guys on the sides.
we got one of those at my dads and we use it to pull logs out of bush and they can pull 4 tree that r 16 inch round full lenght no problem but that guy makes them look like they cant pull shit dumd ass

wow, your not taking a whole bunch at once, I bet it could take twice as much as that, maybe even three times, but really, you should get a trailer for it, a lot better then dragging, you should only drag timber, not sawed planks.
lmao you can tell which commenters are americans from lower states because they keep sayin of pussy load i can carry that, welll obviusly they have never had the akward oppertunity to lug that much snow through snow that deep
Dudes, I gotta agree with the other posters that this is hardly an impressive load to pull. It probably took you more effort to hook up the load than it would have taken to just carry it to your destination by hand.
Or are we supposed to be impressed with the fact the machine is running at all.
There's a man who lives just outside of St John's, Newfoundland who uses an old Bombardier like this one for hauling firewood out of the woods. he has a trailer hitched to it. Its usually stacked with spruce logs.
That's a Bombardier J5 tractor. I have a '68. Steering can be anything from easy (bump steer at a good clip with no load and on a packed surface) to WTF difficult (low speed, heavy load, muck).
I ran those alot at a local ski area that i used to work at and they will pull alot more than that. They are awesome in mud too. We used them year round but mainly during the summer months. One of them had a boom on the back with a winch for pulling pipe line and tree's. Only down fall was if it had manual steering clutches, you worked you butt off trying to steer it.

Uh, yeah. Hand me the tow strap. Bet a case of beer that I can pull the little bundle faster on foot.
However, the Bombardier is an awesome machine. Rode in one MANY years ago as a kid, have wanted one ever since. Take good care of her!
