the reason y the combats love gunfire is that in the book "THE FLOOD" it says that a little bit of lifeform (HUMAN it says nothing bout elites) is still alive hiding from the OTHER (flood) so they try to die quick by running to gunfire they just wanna die! heres key:
Combat forms: Humans, elites
carrier forms: jackals, grunts
infection forms: the original flood the originate from nothing but big bubbles (play halo 3)
343 Guilty Spark and The Library are my most hated levels of Halo: Combat Evolved. The first one is very scare and the second one is very confusing and stressing.

I remember when I was 5 when I played this level at my friends house (big mistake). I ended up waking my mom in the middle of the night and and wondered what was going on.
as if this isn´t difficult enough for me, my laptop has HORRIBLE lag, i die in the first 5 minutes of this level, i play on legendary, and to add insult to injury, you go through the EXACT same hallway 5 times.
@k1n3v Try lowering the graphics first of all, it looks bad, but the point is for good gamplay right? Then set the game to play in a window, it works much better than full screen, less lag, and then try downloading gamebooster. What it does is close down background/unnecessary programs temporarily, freeing up ram on your computer, so your game gets less lag. Hope this helped.
Thanks man, as soon as i ran it in a window i lowered the gfx and noticed less lag , but i've yet to download gamebooster to see some improvement. You're like a god in my books and once again, thanks a million.
So many people hate this level but I love it. It almost feels like you're fighting The Thing and that's what makes it so great. Just wave after wave of bloodthirsty space zombies - with rocket launchers.

I was yawning forever during the library levels. I had to stop, take a nap, continue until I was halfway through that level, was yawning again, stopped altogether, and only continued a week later.

They shoulda put one of these levels in Halo: Reach. It takes a long, hard, dark, frustrating level to enjoy the other levels and therefore the entire campaign. Reach's campaign basically plays itself as it is right now.
I've waited 3 games to finally have a campaign that DOES NOT have a level like that.
The cut and paste level design and backtracking was pretty much the only thing that dragged the franchise down.
Halo Reach is much better in that regard, although the next-to-last mission is basically a rethread of Mission 3 with a drawn out defense objective tacked on at the end.
And the backtracking to get out of the first building in the aerial city mission was weak as well...
@15V31F The type of level I'm talking about shouldn't be such that you wish it had never been in there, but more something like The Library or 343 Guilty Spark. It's sort of hard and tiring, but those levels were also a lot of fun if I play 'em again and they made me happy to see the light again. And of course, it was the copy-and-pasting that scrood us over. It was just a pain in the ass to come past levels that we already saw in Firefight/Matchmaking.
@DrsJacksonn You dont wish The Library would disappear? I hated that level more than anything, the only times I've replayed it was when I wanted to complete Legendary mode.
@09csr It was a dreadful level indeed and I had trouble making it past the many floors and elevators at the time I first played the game, but it doesn't seem so bad anymore when I try it today. The thing is that this sorta level gives a lot more taste to a game like Halo, especially if it ain't too sickeningly hard (in the regard of losing your way all the time and strolling around the level for half an hour longer than you're meant to). A level like this even makes next levels more enjoyable.
@DrsJacksonn Sure its dreadful, not to mention even demanding, but I wish they'd vary it more than they've done, because unlike levels like "Assault on the Control Room", "all" you have to do is to figth your way through the Flood, which make it a little Boring, not to mention Time Demanding. Of course, like you said it does make the two levels after it more enjoyable, but I just wish that It'd be more fun to just play it in single-level rounds that I tend to play them.
@09csr Of course a bit of variation is welcome. The fact that a level otherwise seems very long, however, would only have been an advantage in Halo: Reach. But to put that aside, more action in the sense of AOTCR woulda made this level favourable for you as well.
Anyway, a problem I had with Reach was that the levels all gave the same sensation, which was not in CE. In that respect, I wouldn't mind a level being repetitive on its own as long as it woulda been a diversion about the others.
@DrsJacksonn In my opinion, its the variation that makes it into Halo, so I agree on that.
The "grounds" for the level is good, I like the feeling of its Map and the Endurance required, there'd just be nice with a slight change of it to live it up and make it less Boring.
Perhaps Im wrong, but with time the Halo serie lost that sparkle it had first and has more becomen a more regular Warfare game, that like you said just gives the same sensation over and over again.

If it wasn't for a level like the library this game could've had a much higher replay value. It just proofs that at the time the game was released far too early.
@Midnightswordsclan If you have ever played Halo on Legendary, then you would know that you have to be VERY careful when engaging enemies. Taking cover, using the best weapons for any given situation, and having superior accuracy are imperative. Charging enemies with your guns blazing may be fun and effective on lower difficulties, but on Legendary all it will lead to is a quick death.
@HarmfulDesign unless you get good enough to the point where you can go all guns blazing on legendery and just blow shit up anyway you want to. THAT is when it gets REALLY fun.
@ENOCHwithaGLOCK Well, a large part of being good at playing Halo on Legendary is making the best use of cover and NOT rushing groups of enemies; on that difficulty, not only do they inflict a lot of damage, they're extremely accurate, too, so the effectiveness of dodging/strafing is limited.

They shoulda put one of these levels in Halo: Reach. It takes a long, hard, dark, frustrating level to enjoy the other levels and therefore the entire campaign. Reach's campaign basically plays itself as it is right now.

I've waited 3 games to finally have a campaign that DOES NOT have a level like that.
The cut and paste level design and backtracking was pretty much the only thing that dragged the franchise down.
Halo Reach is much better in that regard, although the next-to-last mission is basically a rethread of Mission 3 with a drawn out defense objective tacked on at the end.
And the backtracking to get out of the first building in the aerial city mission was weak as well...

@15V31F The type of level I'm talking about shouldn't be such that you wish it had never been in there, but more something like The Library or 343 Guilty Spark. It's sort of hard and tiring, but those levels were also a lot of fun if I play 'em again and they made me happy to see the light again. And of course, it was the copy-and-pasting that scrood us over. It was just a pain in the ass to come past levels that we already saw in Firefight/Matchmaking.

@09csr It was a dreadful level indeed and I had trouble making it past the many floors and elevators at the time I first played the game, but it doesn't seem so bad anymore when I try it today. The thing is that this sorta level gives a lot more taste to a game like Halo, especially if it ain't too sickeningly hard (in the regard of losing your way all the time and strolling around the level for half an hour longer than you're meant to). A level like this even makes next levels more enjoyable.

@DrsJacksonn Sure its dreadful, not to mention even demanding, but I wish they'd vary it more than they've done, because unlike levels like "Assault on the Control Room", "all" you have to do is to figth your way through the Flood, which make it a little Boring, not to mention Time Demanding. Of course, like you said it does make the two levels after it more enjoyable, but I just wish that It'd be more fun to just play it in single-level rounds that I tend to play them.

@09csr Of course a bit of variation is welcome. The fact that a level otherwise seems very long, however, would only have been an advantage in Halo: Reach. But to put that aside, more action in the sense of AOTCR woulda made this level favourable for you as well.
Anyway, a problem I had with Reach was that the levels all gave the same sensation, which was not in CE. In that respect, I wouldn't mind a level being repetitive on its own as long as it woulda been a diversion about the others.

@DrsJacksonn In my opinion, its the variation that makes it into Halo, so I agree on that.
The "grounds" for the level is good, I like the feeling of its Map and the Endurance required, there'd just be nice with a slight change of it to live it up and make it less Boring.
Perhaps Im wrong, but with time the Halo serie lost that sparkle it had first and has more becomen a more regular Warfare game, that like you said just gives the same sensation over and over again.

@Midnightswordsclan If you have ever played Halo on Legendary, then you would know that you have to be VERY careful when engaging enemies. Taking cover, using the best weapons for any given situation, and having superior accuracy are imperative. Charging enemies with your guns blazing may be fun and effective on lower difficulties, but on Legendary all it will lead to is a quick death.

@ENOCHwithaGLOCK Well, a large part of being good at playing Halo on Legendary is making the best use of cover and NOT rushing groups of enemies; on that difficulty, not only do they inflict a lot of damage, they're extremely accurate, too, so the effectiveness of dodging/strafing is limited.
